  • In this episode we take the nasty looking frame of our 2004 Hummer H2 and make it look new again. We clean and sandblast the frame then add paint to bring it back to life!

I recently stumbled across your page and I LOVE it… I’m viewing it for tips. I have an 03 with 56,000 original miles and it’s in GREAT shape. I’ve kept up with the basic maintenance such as tuneups, oil changes, brakes and B. F. Goodrich KO’s. I’ve had the transmission rebuild, which I’m sure you’re aware is a trouble spot for Hummers, along with removing the airbag suspension in the rear. Another well known trouble spot for the Hummer. I live in Southern California so rust really isn’t a problem and I’ve used the truck sparingly as a weekend toy but I want to do an off the frame restoration because even when flying cars 🤣 become a thing I’m NEVER getting rid of my Hummer! Like you I plan on replacing both the front & rear lights, replacing the rock sliders for the AMP power steps, upgrading the front end with Kryptonite steering components, maybe a 3 inch suspension lift and a complete interior makeover, which I’ve ALWAYS HATED! We ALL know the early Hummer’s are anemic and UNDERPOWERED but I haven’t decided if I want to do the Duramax conversion or upgrade to the GM 7.2 liter crate motor w/ten speed transmission. There’s a shop here in South California (San Diego) that does it for 30 grand but there’s a LONG waiting list… who would’ve thought!🤔 All of this is necessary because I’m in the process of purchasing a camp trailer for towing and traveling across the entirety of the Western Hemisphere… I’m retired now so let the (Project) fun begin!!!

I've been waiting for updates on your Hummer it looks great! I've also recently installed AMP research steps and have Doug Thorley shorty headers although I have an exhaust leak and plan on going with long tube headers. Haven't put on my leveling kit yet. Other than that yours is almost exactly like mine except mine is black

Thanks so much for keeping up with our Hummer! I’m sorry for the lack of updates we are going through a move right now and everything seems to have been put on hold but don’t worry, we have things coming up when we settle down and hope to get some major progress done on it!

On my H2 I installed a Mag HyTec rear diff cover, it has a magnetic dipstick but you will have to make new mounts for your sway bar because it is a thicker diff cover, I have all Kryptonite Parts on my front end
