They did star some work last time i was down ther just the shell was still up . the castle looking part .

Baltimore city central booking is horrible as well. The corrections security are all corrupt.
They dint even show you all the bad stuff .. Dorms with 100 men 2 showers out of 8 work but you can only use 1 cuz of gangs mold covers ceiling water drips none stop from cieling like rain cuz a hot shower stuck on so raining moldy water roaches mice rats in winter windows busted out with a wall of ice coming in building so be cold as a mother they wont give u no bannana suits so you have no clothed to wear so if you want so wash ur one set of clothes u basicly stand around with a towel or in underwear . gaurds are worse than some of inmates. Building falling apart .

Sadly, you are so right. SIgh, we're ALL the "detainees" to them.. why streets, structures etc are so fugging uglier and uglier
@@yvonnemariane2265 let me tell you something when you get brought in Central bookings and you sitting with 16 one on the toilet for about 24 hours waiting to be classified to go upstairs just like they used to say at one of the nightclubs in Baltimore you know if you belong cuz if not you get the beat down

I'd like to know the history of the old penitentiary on Forrest st. I wasted some time there back in 2006, and at that point the roof started collapsing. If those walls could talk you wouldn't need a TV.

Ricky walker still up and running til this day they just have the dorms open no blocks the block are closed but the prison is still up and running
@@daniellefaraone705 ty for for the response, I grew up in Baltimore lived in a place called O'Donnell Heights projects in southeast Baltimore. Was in and out of the city jail and central bookings and ECI, MCIH, Brockbridge, MCIJ, and the old penitentiary. I got tired of it girl and left for Tennessee now I own 2 very nice businesses. Hope you are being safe up there. Hope God blesses you and your family.

When did they close the west wing of MTC that's lock up in PC they tore the south wing down that's where Metro in the Kitchen is now u got A block street side A block yard side then the same thing with B lock!! J I must be packed like J I 900 they probably double bunked all those single bed 900 had double beds that was the biggest dorm over J I those dorms they were showing look like Metro dorms
That place was idk how bad to describe. You cant put ppl in those conditions and then expect them to be ok in society

@@jojofreelancer1210 Lol, "Closed". I used to be a Correctional officer at MTC, the Jail right across from the one that's "Closed". There's 5 Jails/Prisons in that Square perimeter. "Closed", Right. My point: They weren't OK in society Beforehand, and as you currently pointed out they won't be good in society after going through hell. No hate brother, Hope you're doing well.
@@DJYC21215 first of all I been to every prison except WCI and I even been on that compound only a day. Talking steel side City Jail Not MTC , not even the same as the old pen let alone steel side.As u know CO contribute to that dysfunction but yet they're fine in society. Yet your peers broke law on daily as a tax paying member of the department of safety and correctional services, which I believe funded and operated by " Society " so if u don't mind helping g me understand why it is these ppl arent " ok" in society. In my mind these are the ppl that make America ppl who get charged and are awaiting trial i mean.For 1 second just think about where this country would be without crime and system So no just getting arrested and sent to Local detention center should not be like that place was. Now last time I was on steel side was 2005 bloods had the jail. Just how they operate is contrast to other groups. It wasn't too long after that when J started recruiting in street as necessary means I'm certain. I just celebrated 10 years freedom ,standing on my own, with strong street structure support and prison ties that went back to 90s formed a situation for me that I never felt the need to join a gang luckily if I had I wouldn't be free. That's where I was coming from originally these situations some guys maje decisions that put them worse situations.

Somebody help me to understand? Why do we care to make a prison better? Prison is supposed to be a badd place In fact it should be so badd that nobody would ever want to go they should be a deterrent to crime
So if you don't want to go to a place that is that bad and old then don't commit crimes Then you won't have to go to prison. And we wonder why the streets of Baltimore Constantly get worse and worse They seem to care more about the prisoners then they actually care about the Law abiding tax payers
ahh yes tell that to the people who go to prison, come back mentally insane and are put on the streets to repeat crimes. most criminals in baltimore aren’t there for first time arrests
it should be about rehabilitation. if you never been then you dont get it. a lot of crooked stuff goes on. also its about just being human. not being able to shower. not being able to eat. thats just the basics. and not to count all the innocent people behind bars. the system is crooked. i bet if you was falsely accused and was locked up you would be writing a different comment. animals get better treatment at the pound then a lot of prisoners do smh. being cut off from your family,friends and the world is enough punishment. being turned into a slave is the worst. everything is not what yousee on tv/internet. its what they want to show you.
