I can say from personal experience that kicks in front of the posts are the most frightening. You're expected to slot them all day, everyday. But missed kicks out wide are typically forgiven because the angle is that much tougher.
I remember Biarritz missed a game winning conversion from right in front of the posts against Cardiff many years ago. Pressure or lack of concentration can make strange things happen.
that gives me an idea, how many conversions are taken by a drop goal? i saw one in this video for the watatahs video, and i'm pretty sure northampton has done it around 10 years ago. sevens do it all the time as well

From memory he was told to take it quickly because time was running out but in reality he should have had plenty of time. That kick was first in my mind when I saw the video title and I thought it shouldn't be on this list for that reason.
@@davidmangan4 I think it was because it was before the rules were changed so that the TMO can check a try even if the conversion has been taken and they were worried it might be chalked off.
