As salam alaikum, mashaAllah Tabarakallah for your continuous efforts. I have been following your lessons for almost two months now. I wanted to enrol on your Arabic lessons this month but the time different between America and UK is my issue. Do you have a book or other learning materials that I can buy so I can use for my learning.
Thanks for your videos, they help me a lot! I was just wondering, I am starting to learn how to read with the help of al-harakat ( been attending this course for beginners)But I can't write, do you have any advice? I just can't keep the different forms of the letter in my head..
Could you help me with a small question about Arabic? In Modern Standard Arabic do you change 'sukun" to "kasra" in أَوْ if the following word has the defenite article? For example in the following sentence. هَلِ الكِتَابُ أَوْ الدَّفْتَرُهُنَا؟
Yes you would, the word to use in your example can be أم Instead of أو the blending of the M and the L (in the definite Article ) becomes easier and smoother
Hi. Please why is the teacher saying tashrab تشربْ and not tashrabu تشربُ in the middle of a sentence. I'm learning Arabic and this seems confusing to do waqf on this word
نعم ، لانستخدم الوقف إلا في حالة النصب أقصد النفي.(negative) yes, we don't use waqef ( ه ) at the end of the simple present tense but we use al dhamma( ُ ) instead _at the end of the verb.
Hi. To the question هل بيتك كبير، is it correct to say: لا، بيتي صغير to mean: "No, my house is small." (instead of لا، بيتي ليس كبير). Or, is it really a rule to use ليس if you say لا in the beginning of the sentence? Thank you.
Yes, you can say لا and use the opposite adjective. Your answer is common But you would usually respond using the same words in the question. On this case it would be. لا، بيتي ليس كبير، بيتي صغير!
I see you are teaching “Modern Standard Arabic”, the Arabic of print and media. In that case we need to be careful not to create a third grammar that is neither formal nor dialect. هل تشرب شاي؟ must be هل تشرب شاياً؟ أستاذي ليس جيد must be أستاذي ليس جيداً هل تشرب قهوة أم شاي؟ must be هل تشرب قهوة أم شاياً؟ In my opinion modern grammarians should simplify the Arabic grammar, but unfortunately there is no political will to to it.
This is the only channel i'm learning arabic because you teach all the basics a non-arabic speaker needs.
