Honestly I will say Mercs were a good addition however I do find the last twist a bit pointless. Oh but we are selling the bugs to the feds, which makes little sense in why would it matter. MI can absolutely capture bugs if tasked to do so, hell I would imagine specialists teams can do that. I was hoping more for a true bugs black market where they hired mercs because they can "third shift" their captured bugs. So you do your first quotas for the Feds then make extra profit selling it off to the highest bidders (Terrorists, weapon manufacturers, medical research, etc). @@TheSpoonyCroy Makes very little sense for MI to be upset about the capture of bugs when that's one of the main plot points of the film: Capture a bug
It's kinda weird to see Merc genuinely wanting to go the frontlines. Like, why do they prefer to go the dangerous frontline where people are killed instead of earning a bit less money but staying alive in safety to earn even more tomorrow?
Bc he would need to catch other contracts after that one. "Defended a pump while MI killed bugs" doesn't sound as exciting as "Cleared the bug-infested installation on our own". It is for CV
Because he could see his crew getting frozen out- if the MI will kill the bugs for Patel for free, he's got no Contract. No Contract, no money. He -needs- to be the one doing the killing; otherwise, there's no reason to pay him.
Everytime he did a big fight he got bonusses, when he was used as garrison they were paid far less. Besides it became clear he was being phased out so he tried to keep his contract.
I love the ending, because its literally a case of too much being said by the mercenary. The MI commander can live with the Federation buying bugs, because its the Federation he serves and not an unknown enemy.

If there was a Merc ending, I bet it would you picking Fraser at the landing pad. The mission would then be Fraser's crew fighting off the M.I. attack, steal a ship off world, sell the bugs and retire. Would still be an evil ending; as the bug trade continues, just with Fraser getting the good deal instead of Zhao. I do agree though, Fraser and Zhao were both good commanders.
It seems Rimmy got promoted after his victories at Kwalasha. But it kinda sucks that the Rejects got disbanded because of losing too many men. Well it's fine because they put him in charge of company Ruff-necks. Consisting of former Rejects and soldiers who are raring to go on the Battlefield. And also, Terran Command has expressed their support for Major Rimmy. They feel that Major Rimmy will again liberate a planet of these damn bugs. But Rimmy himself still feels guilty about how he sacrificed so many lives back in Kwalasha.
31:50 There is also the possibility where the Zhao would get the last ditch message from Fraser but 'ignores it', story shows mercs being executed, corp rewarded, post-credit scene is for Sky Marshal congratulating via Captain Zhao to Director Fraser on good co-operation with Mobile Infantry in reclamation and fortification of Gehenna and it's industries. Now lets see what happens when I unpause.
Federation scientists have discovered three new pieces of conclusive data. A. God Does Exist after all! B. He’s on our side. And C. HE WANTS US TO WIN!
Halfway through, but I really hope this doesn't turn into the Bugs only spreading because of the corporations. I want a fleet battle game, damnit. Those bugs HAD ships of their own in the book, I want to fight them.
In regards to how Rimmy killed Fraser it was quite poetic in a sense that it was a power armored officer and a Fleet Liason that executed him meaning it can be implied that Zhao alongside the highest ranking Fleet Officer on the ground were the ones to personally kill Fraser. Its almost a General Rico and Captain Carmen moment the only unit missing would have been a psy operative.
You know I would've liked to have the choice of the 2 endings but what we got was a very believable starship trooper story that ended how I think the Federation would say it ended true or not!
Man, I firmly believe this has one of the best formulas for a Vietnam War RTS. Obviously engagements would be a lot different, line warfare doesn't work too well against NVA after all, but there's a lot of elements that would be easily transferable to 'Nam. The shuttle transport system would be reskinned to UH-1 helicopters, bug hives would be VC tunnels, there could even be a tunnel rat unit that would count as 1.5 the strength of a normal infantry squad or clear tunnels faster. Radio operators would have to work with combat engineers to blow/burn away the scrub to clear space for landing zones. Maybe replace snipers with LRRPs or force recon as scouting units due to the lower engagement ranges from the scrub, but still have some option for city-fighting missions like the Siege of Saigon. IDK, I can't be the only one who's thought of this, right?
The Mercenaries: "Join me, we can use the secret bug mind control program as leverage to get rich and fuck off to somewhere the fedbois can't find us" Federation: _literally uses the _*_secret bug mind control program_*_ as b-roll for a propaganda reel_ Honestly spot on for the Federation, character wise, same with the military-industrial complex brutally cracking down on would-be whistleblowers
THough how would this benifit a one world government like the federation? It's wealth would be measured by the amount of resorces it can secrue and extract not buying and selling research to itself.
@@Ma_Zhongying To be fair, the film is a terrible satire of fascism. Verhoven didn't even ready the book, and basically the Feds in the film are "fascist" only because they wear vaguely "fascist" uniforms to our culture with the blacks and gray colors. I mean yeah they use propaganda on their populace, but so do all western democracies today. Hell the Feds livestream their crippling defeat, acknowledge they made a critical mistake at the first strike against Klendathu, and sack the Sky Marshall. I don't remember Hitler being sacked for Stalingrad. Further they show a debate between a Fed backed scientist and a non Fed scientist on Bug leadership and the Fed scientist comes across as a nutjob while the civie is proven right. Hell the only real arguement against the Feds is the whole asteroid was an inside job. But I doubt it, considering it was in the path of a Patrol ship, that couldnt call it in due to the collision and the arguement that the bugs couldn't have sent it due to distance falls apart considering the bugs have space ships of their own, and can enter hyper space.
@@SunTzu176 I'm pretty sure the 'fascist' element comes from the endorsement of militarism and mandatory service for citizenship, along with the obvious presence of a 'great other' that is completely alien and different from us(ie. the bugs). If the book is to be interpreted as a call to action or to have any sort of message, these 'bugs' are an underhanded portrayal of other races/nations/civilisations in our own world, even if this is only expressed in sentiment and not in any specific manner. Basically, it is the assumption that a certain society needs to militarise itself fully against a perceived Great Other that makes it sound fascist.
@@Ma_Zhongyingread the book. It's quite the opposite of fascism. As the above reply said, the only thing "fascist" about the federation is their uniforms vaguely mimicking Germany in WW2. As the movie doesn't go into detail about the civilization yet also copies parts of the book, all civilians share the same rights of citizens other than the right to vote, and you don't have to join the military to become a citizen, just something that makes you earn your vote. Infact, as long as your of sound mind and could functionally understand the oath, the Federation by law had to find a duty you could perform to earn your citizenship. As the doctor says, even if you were a deaf, blind, paraplegic.
Nice to see the devs are still working in references to the films as they expand the game! You can tell they must be serious fans of the setting themselves.
I really love how the Starship Trooper Verhoevenverse has gotten so much love in video games. The aesthetic is impeccable, the satire is handled just right, and of course; the music. Even just listening to this gameplay with game sounds and commentary you can hear the Poledouris-inspired soundtrack really pulling out some of that epic feel from the original film.
@@KillerOrca I can't really agree. If you mean Verhoeven, the original movie is pretty much untouchable, and he had no involvement in the shitty movies that came afterwards. If you mean Heinlein then I'd just say he didn't lend much to the Verhoevenverse, just names really.
@@HellbirdIV The original movie didnt have power armor, one of like, the DEFINING features of the series. I have no idea how Verhoeven missed the fact the Mobile Infantry are called that because they have, you know, power armor for mobility. The fact it didnt become standardized until the anime is a crime.
@@KillerOrca Sorry but that's a terrible take. It fundamentally misunderstands the entire point of Verhoeven's film. He DIDN'T set out to adapt Starship Troopers. He had a different script. The "adaptation" was forced on him, and he chose to use it to make a satirical film about fascism, which he had personally experienced as a young boy in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands. There's a reason I said Heinlein's original book didn't have much to do with the movies. The Verhoevenverse is very, VERY different to the original book.
@@HellbirdIV yeah but the thing is the original film had nothing to with facism because Verhoven is incompetent and had to quickly start shoe-horning things in the sequels to make the Federation actually look facist.
The whole switching between forces bit reminds me of Dawn of War: Winter Assault where you swap between IG and Eldar or Chaos and Orks depending on which campaign you play, and I fucking love that.
The thing here is that buyer as noted IS government of Federation itself. Frasier, his mercenaries and crew of the station were used basically to write off any losses in case of a failure as "haha, stupid civilians doing weird things to bugs". Once the process and equipment is well tested and procedures and protocols established, Pathel no longer needs them. Frasier bet all on the fact Pathel hides something from Federation(at least something they didn't know about). Nope, she is a (mostly) loyal employee 😅 She is 100% corrupt CEO of corrupt corporation, but she is one in a state that likes that.
"She is 100% corrupt CEO of corrupt corporation" I wouldn't say she's corrupt. If se were corrupt she'd be rampantly embezzling all the mercs paychecks into her own bank account AND stealing from the company Christmas party fund. The corporation is definitely "morally dubious" though.
The 'we are the bad guys' bit gets a bit undercut by the fact that all the supposed illegal bug catching was part of a state sanctioned secret research project. Why wouldn't Zhou not side with the Federation on this?
Yeah, this 'we are the bad guys' falls flat when the corporation's actions were sanctioned by the Federation. Fraser trying to claim to a member of the MI that 'the Federation doesn't care about you' was the merc's own fundamental misunderstanding of how the Federation even works. No wonder he got killed.
I think people are wrong in thinking the Federation is bad for secretly trying to control the bugs: - The biggest advantage the bugs have is their numbers, turning that against them by having the bugs fight each other is going to be a massive game changer and also drastically reduce human casualties. Sure they might do bad things with the bugs they control later but the current war for the survival of the species is a bit more important than maybe's further down the line. - The bugs can literally suck information out of people, keeping such a game changing advance secret should totally be priority number one. The Mercs were ofc in the wrong: - It's understandable that they feared running out of a job but turning around to try and steal war winning secrets to sell to the highest bidder was a terrible treasons plan that could end up with the human race extinct. --- The bugs could more easily learn about the tech and find a way to beat it. --- The more corps try and get bugs to control the bigger the chance those bugs would escape containment and go on a rampage in places the Federation doesn't know bugs are. --- The corps could actually successfully build bug armies which they can then employ to achieve independence from the Federation at a time where all resources are needed for the survival of the human race. Money and frankly honesty should take a back seat to the survival of the species. Too many people are still applying the fallacy of "the movies are a parody about the evils of fascism" to everything Starship Troopers. And yes it's a fallacy because while that was the idea it was so badly implemented in the films it pretty much failed outside of the uniforms and bad tactics. Even the promotion to Garrison commander is quite likely a good thing: The dude, a competent and loyal officer, is now safer from harm than if he was still lower ranked and moved from fight to fight and in charge of security for a vital fuel planet and a potential war winning secret project. P.S. Yes the Corporation was phasing out the Mercs but it was the Mercs who first breached the contract, despite being warned they were about to do so, and allowed the Corp to cancel their pay and declare them criminals... for the very valid reason that the Mercs were attempting to commit treason.
Man, Frasier complaining about guarding pumps while the MI "gets all the glory" means he's not a very good mercenary, because his primary concern shouldn't be glory, it should be getting paid. And guarding pumps while the MI deals with the rest of the Bugs is Easy Money.
It is worth pointing out that Frasier seemed to see the writing on the wall that if he let Patel depend on using the Mobile Infantry for too much then he would just get frozen out of the deal entirely. Add in the fact that Frasier frequently manages to secure additional funds and bonuses every time his troops are in a major operation and he may just be concerned with getting those lucrative bonuses and a bit of glory over taking the safer but lower paying jobs, that isn't necessarily the right or optimal choice from a risk-reward perspective but for a greedy enough person it might make enough sense to them in the moment.
@@seamonkey2841 This is why he acts that way, yeah. The missions go from "Hey, let the MI stay back, we got this" to the mercs being ordered to stay back and let the MI handle things. Fraser can see he's being frozen out - already being sent on the less and less important missions, leading up to them eventually being fully replaced. Hell, I'd even say that Patel intentionally aggravated him to ensure he'd flip his top and give her an excuse to refuse paying them at all.
@@RimmyDownunder Glad to hear I was on the right track with how I understood it. While I had grasped the fact that she was freezing them out now that they had outlived their usefulness and they had access to the free alternative in the form of the MI the fact that she may have been doing so with the full intention of antagonising Frasier into flipping out in order to provide the precedent she needed to terminate them (in both the employment and living sense.) did escape me so yeah, the added context has proved pretty enlightening, at least to myself who isn't the most intrigue minded, so thanks.

Is this what Zhao was doing before he became commander? I guess that's how he got promoted. Though I don't remember seeing bugs in Avatar Edit: Oh my gosh he is *literally* commander Zhao now!
I particularly like that there was no obvious good guy in this. The merc had a good point, the Federation is corrupt and does not care for the individual, but he obviously has no moral ground to stand on as a mercenary who does shady things for self gain. The MI captain seemed like a virtuous law abiding citizen, a walking recruitment poster; but he is also blatantly brainwashed by federation propaganda and ignorant of something devious he is partaking in. Also executing the merc leader and saying he refused to surrender when he clearly did, is a warcrime. The CEO lady, well enough said, she is basically the merc but in a greater position of power.
This story makes me want the next DLC be focused on playable Arachnids, Like instead of troop pops your “limiting factor” is the amount of Special mutators like Plasma and Tank bugs that can be selected per mission alongside most being locked until a certain objective is done. Alternatively it can be you controlling specialized bugs while AI still control majority of the horde, though both can be pretty limited in terms of play style for the player. Really though in the end I just want Endless wall of staby legs.
That would be amazing. Basically like if the Zerg from Starcraft were the Allies in WW2, planet-hopping until finally reaching the heart of the fascist regime back at Earth for the final push... That's more or less what the original movie implied was happening, given by the end the Federation was relying more on wonder weapons and child solders, implying they were running out of people to press into service and scraping the barrel. Sounds familiar.
@@RoyalFusilier Oh I'd play the crap out of that game... probably more than the Mercenaries or Earth campaigns tbh. Sure, the Bugs would probably be crueler than the other 2, but I love the idea of planet-hopping as if the Bugs/Zerg were the WWII Allies.
What I find hilarious is that Rimmy's prediction for the second ending is 100% what I expected to happen, and I felt that the first ending he suggested was the least likely of the two given the universe. Honestly, I was rooting for the Mercs much more than Zhao, but that's why they get killed off.

"I think the best way to deal with these vents at the back is just a shitload of HMGs." To be fair that's the best way to deal with most things, including trick-or-treaters and noisey neighbours.
For folks trying to wrap their heads around the bug catching plot point, I feel like it'd be more helpful to understanding it if you see the bugs as sapient. Basically we're enabling the equivalent of human trafficking, and modern slavery here. Bugs are probably used as part of the industrial work or something along those lines on the planet surface, like how agro corps exploit migrant labor and enable the trafficking of undocumented people to make up for cheap labor demand.
would have liked a tad more depth in the ending, like Frazier starts to make Zhao waver for a moment before a superior comes in on the radio telling them they will be briefed on the operation after, or even a reveal that Zhao was briefed between missions and that the feds are also going to take over capturing bugs as well. just felt a tad "flat" in that final interaction between them.
Makes me wonder if Rimmy has heard of the game Guardians frontlines. It’s basically starship trooper combined with halo in VR. Unfortunately it lacks the propaganda TVs, but charging into a horde of bugs with a lightsaber is pretty fun.

It's kinda weird to see Merc genuinely wanting to go the frontlines. Like, why do they prefer to go the dangerous frontline where people are killed instead of earning a bit less money but staying alive in safety to earn even more tomorrow?
They’ve got the fight in ‘em.
there commanders still a career soldier he probably likes fighting
Anyone that doesn't like that ending just doesn't get Starship Troopers as a universe. That's just playing the Federation completely straight.
Banelings are absolute hell to deal with, give those things wings and you've created hell squared.
That's what a bomberbee is
in Coop Dehaka gets Creeper Hosts, which spawn flying banelings for free and yes they are as OP as they sound
They're broodwar scourge as anti-ground, that's all.
I had no idea what a Baneling is, looked up what it was. Realized that it’s from StarCraft, a game I never played.
I love the ending, because its literally a case of too much being said by the mercenary. The MI commander can live with the Federation buying bugs, because its the Federation he serves and not an unknown enemy.
Zhao? Fed-man? Shady business? Oh no...
These guys are Capellans!
_[Angry Taurian Condordat noises]_
Happy Davion noises
I do like that with the ending they link the live action movies to the CGI movies, Maybe one day, we will get to command MI bugs.
Mobile Bugantry
The power armor troopers in Terran Command are the same ones from the CGI movies too so.
Terran soldier: “What’s going on over there?”
Station security: “Wouldn’t you like to know, fed boy?”
9:30 “We now head underground, for there path we must retrace and find there giant nest and crush the queens carapace THE EDF DEPLOYS”
Sorry just got stronger EDF vibes then normal there
I swear the mobile infantry gives off EDF vibes. One of these missions they’re just going to start singing “oh we are the valiant infantry”
Well, the EDF probably takes pages out of Starship Trooper's playbook to start with, so...
4 minutes in and I can see that this is some top tier old school expansion shit.
21:52 I practically screamed internally ‘BANGLING, ITS A FUCKING FLYING BANELING!’
You know I would've liked to have the choice of the 2 endings but what we got was a very believable starship trooper story that ended how I think the Federation would say it ended true or not!
21:20 I was literally about to comment that myself, I like how perceptive Rimmy is when it comes to details like these
Ah yes, StarCraft gameplay. Good job UA-cam!
I love how Rimmy has a dedicated puppy cam, and the first thing he does is put his glass in front of it.
The Mercenaries: "Join me, we can use the secret bug mind control program as leverage to get rich and fuck off to somewhere the fedbois can't find us"
Federation: _literally uses the _*_secret bug mind control program_*_ as b-roll for a propaganda reel_
Honestly spot on for the Federation, character wise, same with the military-industrial complex brutally cracking down on would-be whistleblowers
THough how would this benifit a one world government like the federation? It's wealth would be measured by the amount of resorces it can secrue and extract not buying and selling research to itself.
34:05 yeah they wear slick black trenchcoats. Totally good guy-coded!
The Hugo Boss drip overrides any bad guy coding
I've read the starship troopers book and now I wish there was more stuff from the book
Such as not being a satire of fascism?
there are more alien species and empires in the book, and theres a whole lot of scoial stuff with miners revolting and whatnot@@Ma_Zhongying
Fraser really won me over with “Fed-man”
14:25 The moment I heard "No worried Fed" I can hear the shippers at work
Nice to see the devs are still working in references to the films as they expand the game!
Handled better by other people than the inventor, ironically enough.
_terran command sends soldiers to do anti-xeno wetwork while the company is scheming to stab em in the back_
Ripley: *first time?*
0:02 i was not ready for puppy cam *dies from cuteness overload*
The whole switching between forces bit reminds me of Dawn of War: Winter Assault where you swap between IG and Eldar or Chaos and Orks depending on which campaign you play, and I fucking love that.
I love they were hinting to starship troopers invasion with Jenkins and his bug experiments
LETS GO MORE STARSHIP TROOPERS
The thing here is that buyer as noted IS government of Federation itself. Frasier, his mercenaries and crew of the station were used basically to write off any losses in case of a failure as "haha, stupid civilians doing weird things to bugs". Once the process and equipment is well tested and procedures and protocols established, Pathel no longer needs them. Frasier bet all on the fact Pathel hides something from Federation(at least something they didn't know about). Nope, she is a (mostly) loyal employee 😅 She is 100% corrupt CEO of corrupt corporation, but she is one in a state that likes that.
"She is 100% corrupt CEO of corrupt corporation"
I wouldn't say she's corrupt.
I was on the fence for buying this dlc, but seeing that ending...
I gotta give this a whirl!
Rimmy somehow always looks exactly like and nothing like how I expect him to look based on his voice alone.
I think people are wrong in thinking the Federation is bad for secretly trying to control the bugs:
- The biggest advantage the bugs have is their numbers, turning that against them by having the bugs fight each other is going to be a massive game changer and also drastically reduce human casualties. Sure they might do bad things with the bugs they control later but the current war for the survival of the species is a bit more important than maybe's further down the line.
- The bugs can literally suck information out of people, keeping such a game changing advance secret should totally be priority number one.
The Mercs were ofc in the wrong:
- It's understandable that they feared running out of a job but turning around to try and steal war winning secrets to sell to the highest bidder was a terrible treasons plan that could end up with the human race extinct.
Honestly nothing better to see then devs making games that are both enjoyable but also stick to the universe. Huge props
The one thing that could outshine those fantastic maps was the FedNet script. Glorious expansion.
"Nice argument captain. However, I did notice that your employment contract is with the federal goverment."
You don't get bonuses for guarding pumps, and you don't let competition muscle in on your contract.
Nice to see games taking a note from project wingman, and fighting fires in a firefight
Can't wait for this game to get even more dlc which are as great as this
hmm I don't dislike the ending but honestly picking a side (yes I know alot more work) and having the M.I and mercs slug it out sounds great
there must be different endings since you can chose to deploy the mercs or not
Rimmy mentioning that he likes Advance wars Dual strike hit close to home
it's an old favourite of mine :)
@@RimmyDownunder the fact that dual strike made Jess an absolute menace after being underwhelming, in black hole Rising then adding Javier to the mix that was outright diabolical, those two were the ornstein and smough of Dual Strike in one singular mission
I love the small bit of respect The merc leader gives "fed boy" with saying that lucky for us choir boy was there to clean up that mess, it's nice, also man the fucking mercs and fed soldiers interactions are awesome, I love games with pmc groups/mercs involved *ahem* tarkov.
Puppy cam is the best addition ever \o/
You'll never find me simping for a fed but for paycheck I'd glady sign up.
Is this what Zhao was doing before he became commander? I guess that's how he got promoted. Though I don't remember seeing bugs in Avatar
Edit: Oh my gosh he is *literally* commander Zhao now!
« How does it feel, fedman? Fighting for minimum wage and an illusory chance at citizenship while I fight for a big heap of money? »
Man I love Rimmy's commentary when he plays starship troopers!
The name "Bomberbee" sounds like it could be legitimate Australian wildlife.
HephaeStar's problem solving required the help of the "68th battalion" Rimmy's Ruff-necks
i only noticed at the end on how HephaeStar is a play on words with Hephaestus and Star. god damnit
“Oh no! There is a volcano erupting!” My brother! You are on a volcanic planet!
Damn that's dark Robert Heinlein is no doubt rolling over in his grave as we speak.
I can't help but feel bad for the MI. The mercs even have better equipment.
Kinda seems like a second ending was gonna be a thing based on the Objective specifying killing OR capturing the Mercs
can't wait for these units to get added to the editor.
Life has many doors, "Fed-Boy"
I wonder if there's also a Bugs Campaign...
Sure, the Bugs would probably be crueler than the other 2, but I love the idea of planet-hopping as if the Bugs/Zerg were the WWII Allies.
the movie Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars does involve the secret covert sector of psy op operators doing shady things
38:00 would've been fun to PLAY as the mercs (or a choice to do so) and fight an unwinnable battle, eventually losing still and seeing the same ending
I played the whole advanced wars series, 1 to days of ruin. I'm happy to hear rimmy has at least played what I consider the best of the series
FED MAN 👹
What I find hilarious is that Rimmy's prediction for the second ending is 100% what I expected to happen, and I felt that the first ending he suggested was the least likely of the two given the universe.
Honestly, I was rooting for the Mercs much more than Zhao, but that's why they get killed off.
I love puppy cam but the fucking map dude
Corps? Hiding dangerious alien bugs? It's more likely then you think! Tune in at 11 to see the shocking similaritys between HephaeStar and Weyland-Yutani, and how HepaeStar is literaly just Weyland-Yutani! (Seriously, just... Just remove this logo- There it is, Wey-Yu logo! ...They aren't even trying anymore!)
Rule number 1 of dealing with mercs, you can poke them all you want but make sure you pay your bills.
"I think the best way to deal with these vents at the back is just a shitload of HMGs."
To be fair that's the best way to deal with most things, including trick-or-treaters and noisey neighbours.
Of course. The only thing more dangerous than fire and lava. BUGS!
"Puppy cam" *zooms on character's crotch*
i wonder who would win in a flat out fight: Mobile Infantry or the Colonial Marines from Aliens' franchise
A very, very close match. I don't think it could be predicted.
It reminds me of Tie Fighter, where you stay loyal to the Empire the entire game.
The mercs contract should be paid whether they are gaurding pumps or sweep and clear.
3:49 be like "Shut up, Fed"
As an citizen, i am not only not immune to propaganda, i am addicted to it
this "StarCraft" gameplay is great, good job UA-cam
For folks trying to wrap their heads around the bug catching plot point, I feel like it'd be more helpful to understanding it if you see the bugs as sapient.
Basically we're enabling the equivalent of human trafficking, and modern slavery here.
Bugs are probably used as part of the industrial work or something along those lines on the planet surface, like how agro corps exploit migrant labor and enable the trafficking of undocumented people to make up for cheap labor demand.
And here I was, bombing bug tunnels via the Fleet Liaisons fighter strike.
I mean... at least the Feds weren't lying to the citizens about studying the bugs...
would have liked a tad more depth in the ending, like Frazier starts to make Zhao waver for a moment before a superior comes in on the radio telling them they will be briefed on the operation after, or even a reveal that Zhao was briefed between missions and that the feds are also going to take over capturing bugs as well. just felt a tad "flat" in that final interaction between them.
Feds? Mercs? Orange? Was this entire DLC just an elaborate Project Wingman meme?
Bro really hit him with the “keep movin, fed boy”
Makes me wonder if Rimmy has heard of the game Guardians frontlines. It’s basically starship trooper combined with halo in VR. Unfortunately it lacks the propaganda TVs, but charging into a horde of bugs with a lightsaber is pretty fun.
