They are often blamed for being lazy, and of poor mentality. e.g. abusing the social system in the Netherlands. The singer argues that if there were no corruption, he wouldn't have left his hometown, and at least he eats and lives well. Which of course couldn't be said about the people who chose to stay back in Suriname.
