At the end of the main quest of the new area, Katheryne tells us that due to completing the quest the adventurers guild has obtained permission to explore the ruins of Khaenri'ah and that she will contact us when they have organized an exploration team.
I really hope they let us explore some of Khaenri'ah soon.
Ain't no way they'll succeed if they send normal adventures there. The corrosion in air is so intense that's why Pierro send Scaramouche to Khaenri'ah instead of going there himself

Now THAT'S the creepiest and eeriest location. Music, atmosphere, emptiness, dead everything, dread feeling, and this vibe like something about to happen or something watching us, or waiting us.
The fact that there's no mission objective that leads you there or anything like that and it's up to the player to find it makes it so good
It's just the fact that... that gate belongs to Khaenri'ah, our endgame and the most crucial area of the game, the fact that it just sitting there and recently got discovered are both astonishing and earie.

For those who are wondering we can visit khaenriah any point in story. Khaenriah act wasn't numbered unlike other acts so this can happen anytime. But i think it's going to be yearly quest like dains quest

Imagine how insane the last story will be with genshin story roadmap story at least 10 years (they changed it from 6-7 years because the game popularity) and probably like other hoyo games it's only the part 1.
Probably next dains quest is located here. It getting closer to khaenriah and each region had 2 each. Sumeru already had 1 where we explored the origin of abyss monster with kaeya
You got wonderful point, but as you can see, they haven't added Chasm in the acts either thus, we can hypothesize the scenario the same for Khaenri'ah not that I can guarantee anything.

Dante from "Dante's Inferno, the Divine Comedy" a book from 14th Century, passes through the gate of Hell, which bears an inscription ending with the phrase "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate", most frequently translated as "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." So yea that is basically the Abyss/Khaenriah. Referring to the achievement we get at 1:30 regarding the gate.

@@rohanjxr The thing we can’t judge them until we fully know what happened. According to the info we have now khaenriah wasn’t evil but they did cause the cataclysm. They also helped others fight against the cataclysm. We just don’t have enough info in them and the cataclysm

Love the Dante reference. In italian it is "lasciate ogni speranza voi ch'intrate" wich means "leave all hopes for you who enters" , and in Dante's "divina commedia" this was written on the door to enter hell.
you haven't seen Lyrical Nanoha Detonation? she is far more powerful in that movie than all of her other barrier jackets, and nanoha herself had described as Magical girl loli Gundam mostly thanks to the Nanoha Movies. She is also more powerful than all the gundams, and had way more vitality than even Maple from Bofuri, first she is able to deliver an explosion while in outer space by herself that bigger than the earth itself, and moreover that she can survive an explosion that is equivalent to more than 100,000 times of the most powerful nuclear bombs that humanity had ever produced. Not to mention that her barrier jackets keeps upgrading to maybe reach the level of being able to destroy two galaxies bigger than the Milky Way, in a much more later barrier jacket.

It feels like the perfect setup, for example we met our sibling before we went to Inazuma and that changed our goal from finding them to finding the unknown god instead
So before we go to Fontaine, maybe we will learn more about Khaenri'ah from what was left in the Caribert quest, and that will change our goal in Fontaine as well 🤔
i really hope we get celestia lore in fontaine after ambition, and ley line in inazuma and irminsul, dream, and memories in sumeru

the waypoint lore is just one aspect of the game that I still think lacks lore

That place is so breathtaking and eerie at the same time. If this is indeed the door to khaenriah, it now makes sense why the desert area have a lot of ruin guards, golem etc.
The facility next to it is literally the battery (Energy Core) production site for Khaenri'ah's "Field Tillers"
I hope this means we will actually see Khaenri'ah soon bc otherwise it's too cruel to add this just to keep us out for years
This could just lead to some part of Khaenri'ah and not open to the whole of the ruins. Personally, I think the only way we'll get to see the whole of the civilization is if we look into the worlds memories. I can't remember the name of the giant tree underground, but doesn't it connect to all the ley lines?

For a bit of lore and reference. This gate of Khaenriah (linked in position to Gate of Zulqarnain) has became sort of hot topic in Muslim Genshin Communities. See, for those who wondering. In real life. Zulqarnain is a figure in Quran, who sealed creatures called Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog in Bible). Now it is said that Yajuj and Majuj will destroying earth in its destructive way and only walls made by Zulqarnain whom he manage to seal them and make them out of reach (for now). Now, considering that gate of Khaenriah sealed so far. And Khaenriah itself was manage to be sealed so far by Archons and/or minions, and somehow Abyss wants to reopen it again. Some see that Khaenriah to Teyvat is similar to Yajuj Majuj on Earth. When the gate is open again, It will bring destruction and calamity

I just reached this location this morning after finishing the quest with the floating thing and it's fucking awesome and haunting at the same time.
Edit: Actually nevermind, there is enough context to point out that this is indeed a door to Khaenri'ah, and that is the two Black Serpent Knight statues guarding the gates apart from the octagram symbol ubiquitous to Khaenri'an civilization. I haven't noticed it immediately until I decided to climb the top of the door.

The symbol on the gate looks like the emblem Halfdan wore on his chest. Maybe its the gate from where the gods entered Khaenriah, or the one shown in the fanfic that was being gaurded by the black serpent knights against the heavenly forces.

As soon as I saw the symbol on the giant door, I immediately knew it was a door to Khaenriah or something.
Not gonna lie - that elevator ride was fucking tense. And to see the door itself finally - Hoyo knows how to tease. Though they do tend to overdue it.
So many detailed changes and added new stuff. Celestia/Loading screen slightly changed, pyro regisvine's logo changes, added new area and that door. Secret of the wethering revealed. Wow!

I absolutely loved this place when I just found it during the quest.
1. It is not used for anything at all, except for a luxurious chest and a common chest on the way there. Not even Paimon says anything.
2. There is no one around.
3. The place is fucking huge.
4. There is no music. Just the wind.
All of this creates creepy atmosphere of emptiness. Only if there was no achievement, it would be perfect.
First you just decide to go in a different from the quest direction. You find a cave corridor, wondering where it leads to. Next you know, you stand before a giant door in the distance and a huge hole separates you from it. You get an achievement and then... nothing happens. Even if you go up there, the place is empty of activities. (and you can find a luxurious chest).
I'd like to give a small theory.
The door references dantes inferno, so maybe instead of being the door to khanriah its the door to the abyss. since the abyss and khanriah have had some overlap in the past its possible that some now believe both to be interchangeable.
or it could bring us to a small part of khanriah under sumeru, as id personally guess we would get a full chapter even if only brief thats dedicated to exploring khanriah as that is a major lore dump just waiting to happen.
This is most likely one of many gates to khaenriah. You now the abyssal floors in FF12 Pharos of ridorana? If we take into account with what the gods did to these people, in game it won't be scary. But when you think about how it does truly look like. I can only imagine, demons, monsters, zombies, undead, machines and so on. It's a damned nation. No one was spared. (That includes even children by the way. )
in the story quest to get there. there is dialogue about khaenriah sending out monsters (most likely the ruin line of enemies) when they were attacking. it almost 100% a door that was used for khaenriah but might not be a door to the nation itself and more like an access point to the underground network they set up around teyvat
@@sweetbabyrayso5262 Could be, although the gates they speak of doesn't specify it is a physical door. Rather just a portal. Same ones we see in cutscenes. So this could indeed be a gate towards khaenriah. Or potentially a vault or Ark holding armaments.

Every region has a sub-region. Mondstat has dragonspine, Liyue has the Chasm and Inazuma has Enkanomiya. Sumeru doesn't have one yet. If we look on the Teyvat chapter preview, every region is labled as a chapter. Mondstat is prologue, Liyue is chapter 1, Inazuma is Chapter 2 and Sumeru is chapter 3. Khaenri'ah is at the end of the Teyvat chapter preview so it makes sense that Khaenri'ah would be chapter 7 or epilogue but, Khaenri'ah isn't given a chapter, it's given ??? Instead
So, what if Khaenri'ah is Sumeru's sub-region. If that's the case, we may be visiting Khaenri'ah a lot sooner than expected
Also, at the end of the new world quest, Katheryn says that the guild can now organise expeditions to Khaenri'ah and we would be the first to know when an expedition is taking place and we'll be offered a place on the expedition

so Khaenriah is the underground part of Sumeru that leaves:
Fontaine - the catacombs of France basically
Natlan - outlying colony of Khaenriah that separated after a tea party
Scheznaya - just one big icehole
It’s so eerie, just knowing what’s behind those doors.
I just hope that at the end of their journey both of the siblings gets reunited with each other nd have a happy ending 🥹🙏
Hey I don't know if anyone knows this, but if you go just to the right of the door, and look behind the middle crystal structure, there's a luxurious chest sitting in the sand. It's the crystals behind the flame altar.

The quote that appears when you first see it is “Abandon all hope, ye who enters here.” Which is a quote from Dante’s Inferno - a quote upon the gates of hell.
I absolutely love genshin for this, complicated and incredibly awesome lore, now i want to do some research. Btw its like absolute 100% guarantee that its the Khaenri'ah door, because on the way to it you can find some notes, one of them says
"...we waged war against the forces from beyond the sky, yet we were rejected by the laws of this world and tormented by an unjust curse.."
Or we will see Kaeya and Dain slipping through that door but enter in it after Fontaine
At the beginning, it honestly gives me chills that Khaenri'ah possesses a technology more advanced that anywhere in Teyvat. Almost as if it's like in Honkai.

No Khaenri'ah is supposed to be something huge not some "expansion" it's literally one of the main things in Genshin

I noticed that if this is Khaenrian architecture it bears a striking resemblance to Deshret architecture. I thought it was the same thing before I got close.
So for recap. Muslim Genshin communities were kinda thrilled by the naming of place. See, Zulqarnain was a figure that said to manage to seal the Yajuj and Majuj (equivalent of Gog and Magog in Bible). Now, in Quran it said that Yajuj and Majuj were destructive heavily on earth when it unleased. And it is said that only walls made by Zulqarnain who (sofar) kept them out of reach. Considering some leaks that say that Gate of Zulqarnain was gateway to Khaenriah. And many Khaenriah transformed either to Hillchurl or Abyss, therefore bring destruction upon Teyvat. Some see that Khaenriah to Teyvat basically like Yajuj and Majuj on earth. It'll bring desctruction when it unleased
The eye with the star is the same we see on chlothar alberich clothes and on abyss enemies. It's also the same we see in the Deshret's cutscene. And we are in Sumeru so maybe Deshret is related to Khaenri'ah

I want more desert area. It's my favorite place in the entire game. I love exploring and running around in a big desert and I like how relaxing it is watching my characters foot prints in the sand.

Yeah. I did venture to that spot right after I finished collecting those memory songs or whatever (coz at the end of the route from that centre of the lab, it leads to that temple)
There’s also a journal page by the hilichurl with the locked chest, talking about how people fled aboveground and the person who wrote this and some other people are hiding down there, and rumors had spread that people who went aboveground had been afflicted with a strange disease that turned them into monsters. Maybe it’s all connected to the war in khaenri’ah..
The quote from Dante's Divine Comedy makes gate even more ominous and eerie. This was probably the location where a group of Khaeni'ahns emerged from when they were escaping from the Cataclysm led by the Schwanenritter knights, only to become afflicted with the forbidden knowledge and turn into monsters themselves/died or being slain by Abyssal creatures,(some of them decided to return into underground instead)...how many people have perished in this place i wonder.
It's probably a way to the next special zone like Dragonspine, Chasm or Enkanomiya whose exploration % is separate from their respective nations.
In the previous archon quest, Kaeya did say that Khaenriah was close to/under Sumeru, this is getting interesting

I can imagine most who survived the cataclysm in khaenriah or were in the process of turning into monsters fled throught the gate of khaen'riah into Sumeru like some sort of massive evacuation plan.
That's why see so many massive ancient robots and dahri outposts. Whoever remained of the military + Dain tried to protect the population that was fleeing to Sumeru against the massive horde of monsters.
Out of the 3 mecha, 2 of them are in the desert and this very same place is quite the inhospitable one with no civilization. From that you can assume that a lot of them died or turned into hillichurls in the desert. That's why see many hillichurls tribes in the desert including the rogues who seem to be the closest to an actual human.
We also now know that Dain and Lumine weren't together while he was fighting in the desert so maybe that event happened at the same time as during the escape of twins only to be stop by the unknown god.
Not me extinguishing all the torches to see the gate open. 🤣

Anyone here plays the game in Chinese? In the Spanish translation of the description of this location in the album it specifies this is a side door, but the English translation doesn't mention anything about it being s side door so does anyone know what the original text says?
I don't know the original text, but I do know the Spanish translation tends to be more faithful to the Chinese version

At some point while doing this world quest I prolly dozed off and I failed to connect the dots, and thinking that this is just another door to Al-Ahmar's catacombs.

When I got here, I literally thought it was just a giant door to a giant tomb. Then I find out it’s the door to Khaenri’ah and now I understand why this door felt so fascinating to me
