I have a 6" lift. So I need a serious electric side step running board. ARIES has the best step within a step running board. Found nothing like it!!! Everything else; is crap. I have two steps to cab. All others have one!!! I think I paid $1800.... Smoke cigarettes.....
I would choose the second option. They for the most part will never fail since they are fixed in place, less moving parts. I also feel they add to the look of the truck. The AMP's are real nice high tech option but seem more suited for a luxury type vehicle. I would be quite bothered if I bought them and they failed in the middle of winter due to ice/snow/salt/freezing temps.
Nailed it. I have a guy who buys cars for me at auction. He has a mechanic shop and used car shop. I had him shopping f150 and one of the first things he said is the high trim levels with the moving running boards are constantly an issue. Here in Michigan anyway. Dirt and road debris works it's way in the moving areas and the get stuck in down position. After he said something I started noticing them all over, driving with one up and one down. No thanks.
I have a truck with a 6" lift. I bought the step within a step running boards...sold by ARIES!!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER TRUCK WITH THIS AWESOME 2 step system. I am the FIRST!!!! SMOKE CIGARETTES ....
Great video, man. You're tonneau cover video was fantastic too. I used both videos to buy my tonneau cover and running boards for my Silverado 1500. It's super helpful that you show the installs and that you provide 3 different options - not too many options, but also not too few. Thanks for all of your help!
The delay makes sense! I have the same brand, but mine are a bit older of a model apparently. Mine don't have the delay, which is dumb, because when you close the front door, only to get something from the back seat a second later, the step has to come down and go back twice every time..
Thank you Sir for your time and effort. When AMP charges you 1500.00 bucks plus tax and they want you to mount their module with zip ties? Zip ties. Who on their design team said yea this is a great idea. Even worse someone had to approve it. You did an excellent job with this video. New subscriber.
I have the same problem as you, a short better half. Those power steps are great, but we’re too pricey when I bought my Colorado. I’ve been running the Westin HDX drop nerf bars for 4 years now and they have held up great.
Love this guy!! Great videos bro 👌 What size wheels and tires do you have on the Silverado? Also, what the heck is going on at your neighbors house?? Hope Jackson is doing well buddy. I need skme Amp research power boards for my 2021 Ram. Thanks again for the info!!
I would like the Amp Research steps if they were installed on a truck that I only drive during nice weather. (And cost was no issue...). I have yet to see a review for the Amp steps on a truck that was driven in a winter climate that had to deal with snow, ice and salt. Will the step not operate when snow and ice builds up behind the front wheels? Will it burn up the motor if the step can not unfold all the way or will is strip out the gear, or will they not work at all? I would be upset if I paid $1500 to $1800 for a step I couldn’t use. Just my 2 cents.
I live in the south so I would choose the amp research, motorized step bars. If however, you live in the salt belt, I would avoid that option entirely and go with the middle one.
Great video, bro... what did you use to tint your headlights? I have a 2017 2500 midnight edition and wanna smoke my headlights without using a rattle can
Thank you! I went ahead and replaced the running boards on my ram 1500. Afterwards I changed the battery and have a constant message that says “power side steps unavailable.” The message goes on and off. Have you experienced this? Any recommendations for this message to be cleared?
I got the AMP power steps because my other half is short and climbing into my new Colorado was simply too much work for her to do comfortably. Problem solved. She loves them and that's what matters the most.
Great job reviewing each type step and insulation. I have a 1980 Jeep Cherokee laredo 2 door Wagon 4X4 , how can I get a set of these awesome steps? Help me I want them ASAP!
The LEDs have a separate connector on the wiring harness (unplugged = off). To manually control them frequently, the easiest way would probably be to splice in a switch and mount it on the dash
For me if I had a truck, I would go for the mid tier steps, cause in my opinion, spending 1500 dollars on side steps is stupid. Let's remember 1500 dollars is alot of money. I rather use that money towards any other mod for a truck.
Definite the “luxury” option out of the 3. They really start to make sense financially if you’re looking for certain luxury features but don’t want to shell out $80k for a High Country/Denali/etc
@@TruckCentral sure, but honestly I rather not have another electric thing also to break either. Personally, as cool as those steps are, I would probably pass, unless I was made of money lol
GuitarmageddonZL1 Nick you paint match your Tow mirrors Red match your Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 off Road keep it up with good work on Truck central
For my style truck, non 4x4, it would be the Amp. Being my truck is a Ram Lonestar it fits the style better. But, it's 18yr old truck so I wouldn't spend 1500 on steps at this point.
Well,my new factory 2017 Yukon Denali auto step sucked…I live on dirt road, Kansas, mud, snow, slush. In my conditions I would look for Frame Mount, No Electronics, Black,Durable step. But they may all rocker/cab mount?
*Welcome to a BRAND NEW SEASON on Truck Central!* Last season we did the ULTIMATE tonneau cover comparison... time for another!

Excellent upload. Looking for options for my GX460 as the stock boards suck!

They wouldn't last very long in the Arizona heat.
Probably an electrician, but, do not under estimate zip ties

I went with the Amp steps there sleek. The other steps are Awesome also it's a matter of preference.

Where can I get those mud flaps replacement guards I see everyone has them but can’t find out who makes them

Would these running boards fit both a 4 door Silverado and a crew cab Silverado? I have a 4 door .
Great video
Undercarriage wash at the car wash after all that snow & salt can damage the motor??
I imagine that those motors can’t go through too many car washes
What a special video

It would be much appreciated to see the 2nd steps while seeing the full sight of the truck.
Hs2 what’s the size for the boards ?
I have the same truck but which would I purchase?
Thanks
Just checked the hs2s are $527 now

Where u get those rims can I get the name and size specs please I want those right now

Get the simple, nerf bars you showed first. Spray them with black bed liner. Job done, imho.
Definitely a good option
I hear the longevity of the reveal step is not very good. Any idea about that?

im installing the first ones on my truck...bought from a guy for 200 with brackets and bolts.
You just didn’t show us how to plug in the plugs inside the truck most important part
Well I know which I going with the last one
One of my boards came dented. Not happy. Waiting for Amp Research to reply to my email.
Did you buy it from our sponsor?
@@TruckCentral No.
Can’t help unfortunately but wish you luck nonetheless
