Ever since GGZ Seele has been designed to feel "out of place" on purpose. She's the poster girl of Quantum as a concept and when she made the jump from GGZ to HI3 Quantum was added specifically for her at the time (though has been expanded since). Seele has always been used as a sort of unique Quantum existence who almost seems to "reject" imaginary energy, she also has an especially strong connection to The Quantum Sea and is one of few people who can successfully traverse it more or less unaided as she can almost seem to "feel" bubble universes around her which is probably what her light cone is referencing. "the sea of butterflies" is likely just how she interprets "The Quantum Sea" and her light cone is the first time she "dissolved". I can only assume they haven't explained this because it would take literal hours to cover it entirely. Seele as a multiversal existence is also kinda shown to be more directly "tied" to alternate versions of herself because of this unique level of Quantum fuckery. Seele is one of MiHoYo's original 5 alongside Himeko and The Trio (Bronya, Mei and Kiana) and so as such has a looooot of lore threads and history to contend with. so while yes she does feel very strange and almost "wrong" to be in Belobog, I feel like that's on purpose and we aren't done with her yet...I mean we still haven't met the space version of her Darkside (that being said though she already kinda acts more like the other Seele so who knows). Also fun fact because of her importance to Quantum as a concept, the symbol is directly taken from Seele's "Soul Feast stigmata" also called "The Stigmata Of Death".
"Disappear among the sea of butterflies", in some Asian cultures the butterfly tends to be associated with the souls of the deceased. "Illusions of the Past", this should be referring to the Fragmentum, they are very much "illusions of the past" as shown thru the quests. So what she is saying in her ult is that the Fragmentum should disappear as they are just illusions of the deceased. As for her Lightcone, that one doesn't have context on where she is or what happened. It's possible that it is related to her powers, maybe she somehow slipped into the Sea of Quanta or a Bubble Universe and back to Belobog. With Belobog's story still being continued, hopefully we'll get to see a bit more background of Seele and the others.
The only thing i knew from Seele before was Oleg gave her a name from Old Belobog meaning "soul" I think her design and skill actually matches her story/character. Her scythe and "butterflies" I think are related to "soul"(could also be her Quantum elem.) She has stealth which shows how she likes to be in the shadows. She wouldn't go straight head-on bc she'd like to take down enemies alone, having a tough background surviving by herself. Her ult symbolizes how she likes to be alone bc of her early childhood. And I'd like to think "...illusions of the past" is trying to leave that lonewolfness after she was welcomed into Wildfire or after she met Bronya/friends. There's a lot of plot holes like this in this game and at some point it gets a bit difficult to keep hoping for them to get explained when new ones keep appearing every patch.
In Seele's case it's less that they're less plot holes and more a result of Star Rail being a threequel. Seele has a lot of lore to cover up to and including becoming the first (and so far only) Quantum powered Herrcher (of Death/Rebirth) which was previously thought impossible because Quantum and Imaginary inherently reject each other. basically the issue with Seele is that she has a decade of especially complicated lore that woud just take waaaaay to long to cover in what we've seen from Star Rail so far.
Personally I only engage with voice acted story. Pretty happy with it, but it sucks that people who actually try and dig deeper have a bad time. Combat is good and that is mainly why players like me play, but lots of other people want more or just something else
Incomplete or WIP doesn't mean half assed when we're playing a free game since we all know the story and the characters will be expanded upon in each patch or two. Of course, if we're talking about AAA games (mind you when you're paying 70$ for them) who're doing this then you're rightfully complaining so example being: Halo infinite and the dog water "campaign" that is called Cod MW3

in JP she says "Starry Phantom" instead of "illusions of the past" so I'd either look into the CN ult line, or just take battle lines with a grain of salt since they probably lack in lore-accurate direction
Yup same, everyone in the underworld struggling financially and would do anything to provide for their families while Seele is just there wearing fancy clothes with big-ass scythe out of nowhere.Who knows she’s probably an Aeon manipulates everyone memory making them think she was one of them all this time🤷🏻
The scythe seems like a modified pickaxe and a gun, but yeah no the purple and quanta powers is whack
Isnt seele in every universe related to death/souls and she normally get a high affinity with the sea of quantum
There's a lot of plot holes like this in this game and at some point it gets a bit difficult to keep hoping for them to get explained when new ones keep appearing every patch.
this isn't a plot holes unanswered doesn't mean plot holes
Which one? Are you sure you've listened everything well and read all notes we can found along the way?
in lore, pela is 16 🧐
In Seele's case it's less that they're less plot holes and more a result of Star Rail being a threequel.

I try to love this game, the story is quite boring and most of their character development is half assed like this
Personally I only engage with voice acted story.
