Agressive dogs live there now and they say the dogs are not permitted . The pickle ball courts are not free for you to use when you wish . They have strong grip on them and mostly people who think they are pros use them and run the show . You cannot walk freely as you please with your dog as all the ponds have gators . Take note of these things . If you’re in your 30’s or even 40’s with small kids it’s not for you . Majority are senior citizens here . No kiddie park . No kids activities either . Short term rentals are permitted also . 3 month minimum.

It used to be marketed as a place for retirees as that was the case when I moved my family out here four years ago. With the birth of remote work many families have migrated here. My son attends Lemon Bay high school and loves it. I love pickle ball and play, although I’m not that good and many of the retirees run circles around me and yes it can get competitive as with any sport. I’m in Beachwalk daily and rarely see the courts at capacity. I’m getting better and would love to double with you and show them a thing or two. When it comes to dogs you should always use caution near any body of water and that applies for anywhere in Florida. It’s not unique to Beachwalk. Same precautions for small children and adults for that matter. Don’t forget about the Coyotes, bobcats, bald eagles and large snakes. That is the beauty of living in Florida is that you are immersed in nature and have to adopt a healthy respect. There is a large beautiful gator in the central pond at Beachwalk I see often and it warms my heart to see the balance of people and nature. That area is changing for the better and families are recognizing the amazing opportunities to raise their children in paradise. Wellen Park just 20 minutes down the road is building a new school to meet the demand of the ever changing demographics. Venice high has 50 new walk ons for football yearly as the school system here is top notch. Even Beachwalk is addressing that need by offering their new model the Layton Grand, a two story home perfectly designed for families. I would say that it’s an amazing place for a multigenerational community. A place where wisdom intersects with youth and that is a recipe for a healthy and happy community!

The builder is Divosta. The amenities center is great already but wait until the restaurant opens!
