The quests are seemingly endless, the monsters, the donjons, and most importantly the professions and the commerce is out of this world. The thing is, you're still rather low level, so you're not exposed to much in Dofus, but most importantly, it's the beta and most people keep to the themselves, no commerce, no crafting, nothing, so it's not really the most factual reflection of the game. I would strongly recommend starting another character in the official game, and then after a month transition with everyone into Unity. One one hand, you'll understand more about the game, and on the other, you'll get to begin Unity at more or less the same stage as everyone else.
Wakfu was awesome, but the quests felt kind of empty and pointless to do in my opinio. I prefer questing in Dofus, and I love the achievement system! I will definitely try get some more hours in the game before 3.0 fully releases, but it's probably not a bad idea to try it on the main servers and have a feel for how Dofus operates once it's been going for a while!
I did return to the series a year or two ago, their games all went on sale so I picked up the Pre-Sequel, but I just couldn't get into it :/ But I played the first one A LOT!!
I doubt you'll find much in the marketplaces since it is still only a beta, on the main servers you will be able to find super cheap low level gear, and if you want to wait for the 3.0 release on December, there will be a lot more people around(maybe way too many) so you can get into groups or a guild really easily and start grinding or dropping stuff together with other people. In terms of professions, I would recommend doing hunter, everything else will be impossible to level up when the new servers drop, every resource will be gone in a matter of seconds. Hunter is a good profession since you can pretty much level it passively when killing monsters.
I did wonder if it was just because it was a beta release, which is why I was planning on just crafting it! I wanted to learn he crafting of atleast early sets, so when 3.0 releases I could be ready! So far though, I can't get a single rare drop... I have no idea what hunter is!! I'll have to look that one up :) cheers!
Yaaay it's good to see one of my favorite games get some love. Every race is a blast to play but some of them do have a big learning curve. Steamer is a great class and if I had to explain why it has a difficulty of 3 is probably because although it has a straightforward strategy there are some things from a steamer playstyle that require precise positioning of the turrets like the set that is designed to deal push damage, but beyond that one build steamer is not that hard. Steamer is a weird class tho. It is designed with a vast support kit thanks to the variety of turrets it has but also has potential to deal high damage itself. In a sense steamer is a jack of all traits but a master of none, it can heal, shield, buff, give AP, deal good damage, reposition, even tank if needed, but it doesn't stand out much in any of these things it can do. It is an all rounder character that can do nigh everything which makes it versatile (which I consider is it's biggest strength). It sucks melee tho xD (it has a lot of reposition so it's good)
Dofus Unity hype :D I imagine all classes at high level feel quite fun to play, once you're more built out and you can use more than 2 spells a turn haha! But I think fogger clicks really well with me because it's got a bit of everything! I'm really enjoying them, I just need to 3.0 to release now!!! When it comes to melee though, if I can't use my armor to get the free unlock, I either push the mob away, or just drop massive AoEs on my head :D I'm shocked they don't damage me or my turrets.
I havent played dofus since 1.29, and i know you can say this about most games, but dofus really is funner in a group. When someone else screws up and you recognize it thats what adds to the fun of the game. Everyone watches you on your turn, and while you get the tournament pressure feeling, the game isnt focused on twitch reflexes, so mistakes you make are because you're bad strategically. Multi-accounting servers really imo destroy the entire point of the game. But luckily i dont think dofus is a game i hate playing with randoms. Give it a shot to join a fight with another player, even randoms.
I played through almost all of Wakfu for a few people I met online, I remember being in a discord call with some of them and every time one of them caused a challenge to fail it turned into all our war in the call haha! It's been a while since I played with other people now, can't wait to start a guild in Dofus with some of the peeps in the comments!!
3rd december is when the new 3.0 version is going to available on the official servers, since right now that version is on beta. Remember one thing with dofus, its a marathon not a sprint so take your time and there is no need to rush anything, just enjoy As for the missions and other stuff you are probably not finding, there are some quests that a certain npc gives to start it, youll be able to see the icon in the map (M key)
I am super excited for the full release, I'm getting the hang of the early game, so hopefully on release day I can get Incarnum and Astrub ticked off really easily! On my version the M key doesn't actually open the map, I think it's semicolon for me... (I did finally figure it out though :D)
Someone else commented something similar, but Dofus 3.0 is in beta so everything you play atm will be erased on December 3, there are not many things in the market place because the beta is free loot, they give you 50.000.000 kamas and everything costs 1 Kama therefore there is no need to craft or sell anything at all, also as it is a beta it is really bugged and has some stuff glitched or missing, I recommend you playing Dofus 2.73 atm on December 3 everything you have on Dofus 2.73 will carry on to Dofus 3.0 or wait till December 3 when they release Dofus 3.0 they will create new servers from 0 with new economy and everything new you can pre-inscribe rn for the new servers that are upcoming
I have somehow not come across this free 50mil or the 1 kama shop! But I was aware this is a Beta :) I'm testing out the early game, trying to see if I can learn how to craft myself early sets and hopefully have an easier time when the game releases in December! But if there isn't actually a whole lot of differences between the 2 version I wouldn't mind getting the proper Dofus experience beforehand too!
@@don_holiday the differences so far is that shields have receive some changes, animations and the game design too, and there are new items and sets, beyond that everything remains the same, in incarnam once you finish the tutorial there is a potion on the floor, you pick it up and it takes you to the beta free loot map and once you use it, it automatically refresh, there is a bunch of kamas on the floor, you can pick them up just once
The marketplace is empty because everything is free in the beta, including gear, XP ... I'd suggest trying the Cra class it's very easy to play, incredibly powerful, and the best farmer in the game
That makes sense! I did play Cra a fair bit in Wakfu, they were also considered one of the best PvM classes, I just found them to be a bit basic, if that makes sense? But as I'm learning, Dofus is nothing like Wakfu, so I'll have to check them out here :)
You're playing on the Beta, all your character and progress will be deleted. The reason why the market is empty is because on the Beta you can have all gear for 1 kamas and have 50 millions kamas in 1 click, you can also set your level to 200 in 4 clicks. The game will release on the 3rd of December.
Yeah don't worry I knew most of that :) I'm treating this whole account as testing! Hoping I can get used to the beta version enough so I can get through the early game quicker on release!
I remember trying them out in Wakfu and failing miserably! :D I think they used health as a resource to cast spells in that game, and I really struggled manging it! What are they like in Dofus?
u are playing in the beta why would they bother to make low gear . m for map look into the keybinds in the settings (like q for quests ) ankama does this funny thing when they say a dungeon is a certain lvl they mean its done by that lvl but with at least 2 ppl, most ppl play with 2 accounts playing different classes with different synergy its fun
I don't know if my keybinds are messed up, or if the default beta ones are messed up, but for me Map is not M, it's ; I know this is a beta, but not every beta gives you access to all the different gear options, millions of gold etc. (I also didn't know they had)... In my mind, there's a "newer" version of the game out, beta or no, so that's the version I want to get used to ready for the full release! I was kinda hoping I can maybe get a slight headstart than if I went in blind or used to a different version! I'll probably join a single account server to maybe setup a community guild and run dungeons together, so I am finding the Fogger lets me do a lot of the content solo with some difficulty for sure, but it's doable! :)
Hell yeah let's go Dofus! Love to see expands further from France.
Hopefully the full release of Dofus Unity brings in lots of new audiences :D
Hell yeah, probably one of the best MMORPGs out there. Definitely the best game I've ever played.
I still feel that way about Wakfu, and I think I might prefer Dofus... Mostly. I prefer the way the classes behave in Wakfu x)

Dofus 3 is... a work in progress. Questing always was an issue, Ui should be made better. But it's getting better, worth playing.
I love the amount of freedom we have when positioning our UI, I will give them that! But it's not the best to navigate haha!

I've walked past that potion so many times... Ah well, I was trying my best to not treat it as a Beta and just learn the game!

You should try sacrieur, they are tanky as fuck and have a lot of aoe drain skills

@don_holiday They work the same i think, the less health you have, the more tanky you are, also you have bonus damage
I'll definitely try them out at somepoint :) I'm hoping to have a quick test of all characters before Unity fully releases!
