  • Here's the shadowbox we built around the Micro-Trains N scale Halloween Graffiti Car, #111 44 260. Micro-Trains does some amazing work with their graffiti and weathered cars, and we wanted to do it justice with this presentation box.
Not content to leave well enough alone, we've done a little more work to this shadowbox:
    • Adding Moss To Our N S...
You can see the entire build on our website, from raw pallet wood right through to the LED effects.

Most of the LED effects came from Evans Designs, nice folks too!

Enjoy, let us know what you think and of course with your comments... Happy Halloween!

Thanks! Still working on my video technique, but was happy to get this Halloween piece all set in time for the holiday this year!

Very well done! Love the lighting, detail, and overall atmosphere. Came across this video from the Evan Designs site where I've picked up a few of their LED products for my first crack at a Halloween layout which is currently underway.

Thank you! I'm a huge fan of Evan Designs (evandesigns.com), they really are a go-to store for this kind of work, friendly people too which is a nice bonus!
A few days ago I added a new video which shows a small change I made to this shadowbox, ua-cam.com/video/67qTYXFDOjk/v-deo.html. I have to admit it's kind of fun to revisit these holiday pieces and make little tweaks and adjustments to them. Have fun building your Halloween layout!

@@Raildig Great idea with the furnace filter. BTW, Evan Designs has a very cool lightning kit. It's not on their site yet, but they will probably sell it to you if you inquire about it. I posted a demo of my usage here: ua-cam.com/video/gu1DJUD_LdM/v-deo.html

@@pigstyalley6920 Nice! I'm actually now just doing a little more moss additions to the outside of the box.

LOVE THIS! I'm a HUGE fan of electric trains & Halloween. My trains are in O gauge though. I would, however, like to build a N scale Halloween diorama shadowbox similar to this. Do you have an instructional tutorial video on how this N gauge Halloween shadowbox diorama was made?

Hi, and thanks! I do have a bunch of articles over on our main site on this build. Here's the first article:
      www.raildig.com/raildig-build-projects/bad-bayou-halloween-diorama-part-1/
Here are the rest of 'em:
      www.raildig.com/?s=bad+bayou
We also did a more "conventional" little layout called the Haunted Hamlet, also on our site:

Seems like just a month ago I was in a Harbor Freight parking lot collecting wood pallets, it was actually 2 years ago! We're doing another, larger shadowbox soon with a waterfront theme. I'll be making videos on this new shadowbox now that's I'm getting (sort of) comfortable with making videos.

Most inspiring!! I'm actually planning on a Z scale halloween diorama myself. I must ask you a question please. " how did you secure the train car to the track without super gluing it to the track"? I thank you in advance and hope to hear back from you soon.

Thanks! Actually the car is just sitting on the tracks here, it's not secured to the track. This way I can change cars, flip it around to see the other side, etc.

Thank you sir. I've never dealt with Z gauge train cars before. I hope that I can properly place my car on it's tracks anyways. Unless I can find a Z gauge rerailer section of track. I'm now gathering all of the materials needed for my diorama project.

Do you have a guide on how this was built? I'd like to try to make something like this for myself. ❤

How did you make the background sound effects and music for this video please?

    • @Raildig
      @Raildig  3 роки тому

I use the UA-cam free audio library for music: studio.youtube.com/
There are several sites out there, here's another I like that has both free and paid sounds: www.bensound.com/
Same thing for the sound effects, a Google search on something like this: "free audio effects for youtube videos" will help.
I'm only using iMovie so I just pop these sounds in to my time line, usually late at night as they're the last things I tend to add.

I'm looking for a train car just like this one. Do you know where I can find one at please?

The best option might try some online N scale dealers for this: Micro-Trains, 111 44 260, though I think since this car goes back several years eBay may be your best chance to find this car.
