    TINY EDITS/CORRECTIONS
1.) the Larry Hoover show in LA is technically not his confirmed largest show in front of a physical crowd, but I do believe it's the largest show he's planned himself and headlined. His largest physical crowd was Glastonbury in 2015. However, that was a festival with a whole lineup of people who were there for many other artists as well, so I didn't think to really include it in my list.
2.) my brain turned off while narrating this and i kept referring to amber as ye’s ex wife - they were never married, just dating lol
    Cheers!

I always thought runaway was about Alexis Phipher. Dated since 02 and was engaged for 18 months ending late 08. His mom died late 07. They were also always on and off thinking she would always be his. On top of all of that, his mom loved her and gave her blessing for them to get married.

The "boldest era" of Kanye was when he was openly talking about how the hip-hop community was too homohobic and tied to toxic masculinity because he was speaking truth that was specifically relevant to him and the community that birthed him but had wide reaching ramifications for the community and the people who glom onto it in an attempt to be "cool."

I feel like Ye has pushed the limits of social conventions through his ego, and I really respect that, the way he tries to show us how you literally can do whatever. In some way his ego took him to where he stands now as an artist. But I also think his limit is being a human being, and being unable to understand where he stands as one. I mean, everything you go through in your life has an impact, and denniying it just gives it a bigger impact. I feel like he’s using religion to conduct those feelings, as the moral guide he needs instead of society or media which he despites, but at the end of the day the thing is he needs somekind of guide. I really respect him as an artist, and I really hope he gets help because he’s hurting people and himself.

As a diagnosed high functioning autistic person I believe Kanye to be autistic. Our brains are wired differently and the way we think and talk about things can come across very differently to neurotypical people. We are just more upfront and direct. Not afraid to tell you exactly how we feel and ur often comes across wrong. When i hear him talk it reminds me of how I try to explain something but never knowing how to phrase it feel people to understand because my brain just works different.
And with cancel culture being a thing and your every single word being overanalyzed and and scanned for things to cancel you for it must be hard trying to spread a message you are passionate about but never knowing how and being constantly harassed because no one understands you.

This video really helped me understand Kanye's interlude "I Love Kanye" from his album "The Life of Pablo." So many people use the first few lines to reference the Old Kanye that people and fans miss. These folks want to vicariously identify themselves through Kanye, but to do that, they wish he would return to a less outspoken and more toned down Kanye. The new Kanye became more outspoken and bold, is unapologetic about his thoughts and who he is. He's real for that, and the people who don't like the new Kanye are the people who are still uncomfortable with being their true selves. These are the type of people who would rather be toned down and more reserved to save face than to fully enjoy what life has to offer to their fullest extent. Honestly, the new Kanye is more authentic than the Kanye of the past, and for him to return to his past self, I think, would be letting the media win and letting the dissenters win. Kanye wants to change on his own terms, not be bullied by the media or haters into becoming their idealized puppet.

I love your break down. With Vultures out now. The song “Back to me “ really sticks out to me and my favorite on the album. I saw comment saying that it’s basically runaway Pt 2 . Which led me to his video. After watching this now that song is so much better now 🔥 🖤

This came out before the end of 2022, before then it wasn't what he was most known for, despite him having made comments about that before, it just wasn't so explicit back then. Though changing the thumbnail and not releasing an updated video was a cheap shot.

This is kinda irrelevant but I’ll never change my mind on the fact that Kanye was right on the VMAs thing.
Just because the average musician is spineless doesn’t mean they shouldn’t call out the system for their BS. Kanye himself literally gave away prizes he won to artists
He thought were more deserving on stage so when he sees someone not do the same, well it leads to this.

He wasn't right about the VMA thing, both Taylor and Beyonce turned in masterpieces that year. "You belong with me" currently sits at 1.4 billion views, "single ladies" sits at 920m. Ye said "but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time", but the thing is that Swift did too, and I wonder if Ye even knew her song and video at the time of his outburst. Both could easily be listed as top 10 all time female music videos. So it was a tough award decision either way.
