What is it like to be rich? I was shocked by how different my sister's husband's schooling was and mine was so different. My choice only had French as a foreign language. I suspect that is the only foreign language that my school could afford.

As for the poor girl's dad, he is very wise in trying to teach his daughter a valuable lesson about life. You should be grateful for what you have in life not about what you want. Plus, if something's bothering them kids need to talk to their parents directly. And parents must not put too much pressure on their kids.
