  • LET'S TALK ABOUT MAKING & WINDING YARN PEGS.
Hi everyone, it's Anja here and in this episode, I will show you how I am making and winding yarn pegs. I recently bought some new yarn colours and now I have to make yarn pegs for them. Yarn pegs are so easy when you are looking for colour combinations and also to reorder the exact same yarn. I am advising you to make some yourself?! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

I love your videos and your wonderful personality! I'm in the States, and don't use stylecraft yarn. I bought a pack of wooden popsicle sticks and wind all my yarns in them. Separate by brand....the sticks vs. pegs have a LOT more room. I write the manufacturer, type of yarn, color + color number! They are thin and take less roim.

I love the pegs but I saw a complete set done in mini solid granny squares which I bought, then made my own squares with these colours.

Aahhhh...that’s what pegs are for !! LOL. Choosing colors etc! My newbie is showing through!
You need a smal pair of needle nosed pliers to grab that needle with after you pass it under the yarn.
    Love watching !!!

i loved the idea of pegs when you first bought them. i went straight away to you tube and found a video of how to make these. her version doesn't use a needle and is super easy. i did all my solid color yarns. it was so fun. they are all placed in a shallow box (one level) and in color family. easy to view and fun to play with. thanks for the peg idea. also works great taking to store so as not to duplicate color.

Hi Anja :) Great job! Yes I do still make the peg sets and now they include the 4 new colours - making a total of 92. I also sell the four new colours as a top up if anyone has bought the set previously. The shop link is www.koolkookykreatures.etsy.com :)

We call those clothes pins in the U. S. They have been originally used for hanging wet laundry out to dry on a clothes line.

Thank you for this video. I'm new to Stylecraft. There are no local wool shops near me anymore,so like a lot of people i had to buy online. I ordered 3 balls of Stylecraft Aran in a brown ,a blue and a pink shade . On arrival they were nowhere near what the colours were on my phone screen. I then ordered different ones and they were perfect shades. I looked everywhere for small samples so I would know the true colours for future projects . I happend to see your video and have ordered two sets of the pegs. One in the aran colours and one in the Special dk. The initial outlay was £55 but I've saved so much money making sure that the colours are what I wanted and match. The pegs are a fantastic idea . I did think about making some myself with my emu yarn stash but my handwriting is nowhere as neat as yours ( due to having 2 strokes) so id need extra wide pegs to fit my writing on🤣. Thank you for your tutorial and I will look out for more things on your channel. x

Great video Anja. I made a few pegs after watching you play with yours on another video. I finished each one off by pulling the yarn tail between the tips of the peg and then did what you did...fed the tail through with darning needle. Thought it might give me a more secure finish.
    Thanks for sharing.

Do you put the number of the shade or the dye lot number on the peg???? I think with the spearmint you added the dye lot number...... I could be wrong.

OK, I am putting those people on perpetual ignore. I've heard of this - where people target someone and just keep putting a negative on everything their target posts. Just because they are naturally negative, I guess. Its a sad life, but apparently its all they have.

Thinking about it - on UA-cam, a channel can block a person (who is perpetually negative) from commenting - but not from subscribing. And trolls, by definition, don't need an actual reason to be negative. I've heard of people who just get on things randomly and put up a dislike just to disrupt things. Just because that thrills them. I don't think anyone can actually dislike our Anja or her content, they are just trying to disrupt. So I really am just ignoring these negatives from here on out, it happens to lots of people. And heaven knows, our Anja is so upbeat, energetic and positive that it has to grate on a true troll. Must hurt them!

Hi ,great idea ,why don’t you write the brand name instead of repeating shade ,have I missed previous info on you only using pegs for a a particular brand so no need for brand name ,I’m a newbie so still have lots to learn 🙏🏽
