A great video!!! Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi! Thanks for the comment. We are excited to see how this technology advances. Take care- Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach hi Steve
This technology is not new to as you suggest, it's past time Thor catch up with the demands of current day . With the hazards of propane and generators being outlawed, just saying, let's get to modern day needs!!! Being a leader is better than being a follower!!!
Can 2 more batteries be added to increase the amount of total available power to 400ah?
What about packing a small inverter generator to have some additional charging or power off grid so as not to need to run rhe engine as much...like over night AC in July?
2023 Tellaro on 22 chassis is being offered with this lithium package with generator versus the 2nd alternator. Is there an auto genn start feature when voltage drops 10 12v? How long can 200ah run the rooftop a/c full cycle (meaning compressor on full time) before having to start generator?
I hope they decide this to be a standard.. on the 18M too.. as well...hubby and I are looking.. at the 18 M
Please share this with Thor company ..thank you👍 😊
Do NOT choose this battery System, choose the generator , I just bought this , after batteries drained during dry camping, nothing works in back from roof AC , microwave and anything that uses the batteries until you drive for 2-3 hours for a short trip to get it charged . The gas generator at least is connected to the rv gas line to power roof AC non stop or microwave . The reliable battery system is great for short term one day dry camping unless you have shore power
Great video, Does this new setup have auto-start for the engine at a certain set point for State Of Charge low limit? Is it an option?
Hi Scott. The 200Ahr set up does not have the auto start feature. Thanks - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach huge oversight not having auto start
@@ThorMotorCoach Steve, can you upgrade a 200ah system already in the rig to a 460ah system? and some have said that upgraded 460ah batteries come with auto gen start? trying to get to the bottom of this to figure best way to ensure airco stays on if my pup stays inside while we visit something for more than 1hr ....hopefully you see this and can inform us - thank you!
Where do you get an extra solar panel that’s compatible and plug it on the outside outlet on this Tellaro . Thanks
We want to leave our dogs in our Thor Tellaro 20K with the AC on for longer than 2 hours when we sightsee. The generator wont work because it has to be outside and will get stolen. Has anyone found a way to upgrade or add to the lithium batteries? I don't know where to start. Thanks.
My inverter goes to sleep and cannot be restarted until I plug the coach in. WHY?
Good morning! This could be caused by a number of things. We would recommend reaching out directly to our Customer Service team. They are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 877-855-2867.
Can you tell me what Bank 1 and Bank 2 is what are the differences? We are really struggling with this. And do ALL Thor class b have the alternator charger. We have the Tellaro 20a with onboard generators
I have a 2023 tellaro 20k with lithium battery and 190 watts solar panel on the roof, but only 10 amp mppt solar charge .
My question is, can I add another 100 watts solar on the roof or connect a portable 100 watts in the side inlet with only 10 amp mppt charger controller? Thanks
Can you upgraded from Generator to this system?
Is there an auto start feature with the lithium battery set up (like there would be on a generator)?
Hi Lisa. The 200 AMP Hour system does not have AutoStart. The 800 AMP hour setup does. Thanks for the question. - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Can the 200 AMP be upgraded to include auto start? Thanks!
Our Thor Motor Coach 2024 Sanctuary 19L has no Balmor and I cannot find anything on use of the coach alternator, but choices are Standby and Activate, which to use and when?
I have the 200aH battery pack. Am I supposed to have the engine Auto-Start feature to charge the batteries from the engine when the Lithium batteries are low?
Hi Tim. The 200 amp hour set up does not have the auto start/stop feature. That is only available on the 800 amp hour set up. Thanks - Steve
How old is this video? When i hold the button down on the balmar it reboots and i picked mine up today. Not to mention the BMPRO panel has no buttons on the bottom to "Pair"
Will this be standard in all your class B's going forward? I'm thinking of purchasing the 18M so wondering how this will affect the current pricing?
Hi Kandice. Right now a lithium set up is standard on our Sequence, Tellaro, Sanctuary and Tranquility. I have not heard when it is coming to our Rize and Scope product. Thanks - Steve
I have the 18M. Yeah, it's a shame, putting AGM batteries in these vans is crazy in 2023. It wouldn't take much to upgrade them, and I think most people would be willing to pay just a little extra to have a better setup. When my batteries croak, I'll probably switch it out.
I just bring an Eco flow along when I go camping and that power's my TV The chassis inverter keeps the fridge cold ..
It says that the Reliable Battery System is good to -4 and has heat for batteries. I was just told that the Lithium batteries will NOT charge at freezing temps and the heat for the batteries don't keep them warm enough to charge. What is true - my batteries according to the dealer were drained even though I had it plugged into power for the last month. Please help.
Hi Ann. -4 is the correct answer. That info is straight from master volt. If they are not charging, hold the emergency start button for 5 seconds to essentially wake them up to take a charge. Here is a quick video explaining the process. ua-cam.com/video/Q5S4c0GcmFw/v-deo.html. - Let us know if this works for you. - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Thanks - maybe the dealer needs to be updated. It scared me as I've kept it plugged in all winter and both the Bal Mar and the Master are showing values so I thought all was good, but I was told the batteries were dead and only were at 34% after he ran the engine.
Hi when i drive, should i turn off the inverter? When i need to use solar, should i turn inverter on? I couldn't see solar is working?
I ran my batteries down very low and it would not invert anymore. How do I reset the inverter without plugging it into a pedestal?
Shame it doesn't have auto start option.
I think it does.
@@jeremyjcochrane awesome. Thank you.
Can 2 more batteries be added to increase the amount of total available power to 400ah? Also, can the AutoStart feature be added to a Tellaro that has the 200ah or an upgraded 400ah system?
Anyone get a response?
is there a temperature sensor to the Balmer alternator ?
Im getting mixed information on storing the van with this system. Do I leave the battery switch on or off when plugged into shore power? or does it matter. Thanks RS 2022 Tranquiliy 19L
Hi Ray. If you are just charging the batteries the battery disconnect switch can be in the off position. Thanks - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Thanks Steve. I've also read that some are turning the inverter off when plugged into shore power. What is the purpose of this , and how do I do it. Thanks RS
I have my first Sequence 20A (2022) coach and I am trying to learn how the electric, lithium batteries and the master volt inverter work. Th videos are helpful. The manual is also helpful but I still have a lot of questions.
1: If I have the coach plugged in to electric, should I turn off the Master battery disconnect?
2: Is it bad to leave the coach plugged in to electric when not using? (I’m storing in my driveway)
3: If I leave it plugged in am I at risk of overcharging the lithium batteries? Is that a thing?
4: Does it matter if the inverter is on when driving?
I appreciate any advice on this system and Best Practices to keep it in good order.
Hi Mary. You'll want to turn your battery disconnect switch on if you are using anything in the Sequence. If you are just charging the batteries, then the switch can be in the off position. No, it is not bad to leave it plugged in when you are not using it and your batteries will be fine. The inverter does not need to be on when driving, but if you want to use the AC to keep the unit cool, and even the microwave if you stop to use the microwave, then turn it on. Hope this helps and thanks for writing. Safe travels - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach just bought a Tellaro 20k. 20A short power plug connection keeps tripping the circuit breaker off. 1. Is 20A not strong enough to charge or run A/C? 2. Should I turn off the inverter by pressing MasterVolt or the switch on inverter itself while connected to short power?
i mean switch OFF on inverter itself
Figure it out how: From the MasterVolt control switch, change the incoming Amp to 20 or 15 according to your power input.
@@ThorMotorCoach I left mine plugged into 30A and my coach batteries when down to 0 and pulled from my chasis. I had to do a trickle charge to start the engine. What caused it to drain?
I am unable to turn on the Reliable Lithium Battery system control panel. It has been on but now the on buttom does not boot it up so I cannot read anything from the screen. Help?
Hi Ramona. Are the yellow switches for the lithium system on? - Steve
How long would u be able to run the a/c on a full charge before having to charge up if that’s the only thing you running?
I too was curious about this, so I reached out to Thor directly and was told roughly 2 hours on this new 200AH setup.
Yea it’s 2400KW hours and that will only last 2 hours or a little over that (barely). With no auto start, you will need to add one after market. The system does support High ideal feature which is good.
Oh no…I had a Tellaro with the 200amp/hr system. The best I got was 45 min.
Why did you get rid of the 800ah option? That was such a bummer, by the time I purchased, the 460ah was the max. So disappointing.
At least it's still more than 200ah and the 460 has the autostart so that is a plus. How long should I be able to run the ac with the 460? I'm still waiting on delivery (from June) I've been told the van can't handle running the AC and microwave at the same time either due to a common defect.
👍👍👍👍👍
Why doesn't it have auto start to charge the batteries when they get low?
soc shows 0% and it does not increase while running engine and equipped solar. also where is yellow system switch for the lithium battery system?
Will the 800 ah option still be available?
460ah is the max now, no more 800
I just bought a 2022 sequence 20K with Reliable battery system on February 26th. Why do the Solar Charge controller, the Balmar gage and the Master Volt all show different voltage when not plugged in?
I have a 200AH system, why does the Solar charger Amp Hours never show higher than 40AH when fully charged?
Bought mine two days ago. AC won’t run and mastervolt screenwon’t turn on.
Hi. Are the yellow relays in the on position? Have you plugged it in to charge? - Steve
What yellow relays?
Adding about $25k to the cost of the motor home
I don't know if I like the new change Too complicated the generators been around for 100 years how long can the air conditioner run that's the main key on those batteries when they charge
Generators are being outlawed in many places. They pollute.
Agreed however most nation park doesn’t have plug-in and u can’t run the generator during quiet hour. My next rig lithium is a must and yes how long can u run the ac and how big is the inventor learned so much with my first rv if I have opportunity to get my next RV I know I xactly what setup is needed.
@@liaodesign can you tell us what you would do?
@@jonathanleigh7698 I don’t have solution but my requirement for next rv need to meet these, the inverter must big enough to run microwave without running the generator is min. Lithium that big enough to run ac for at least 4-6hrs. And instant/endless hot water is a must if can run on diesel be best try to avoid propane if all possible.
Hold the F up.... 200 amp hour? I just bought a thor sequence 20k today with this system (for 24k) and your website lists 800-amp hours...
Jeff, there is an 800 amp hour set up and a 200 amp hour set up. The 800 amp hour system has a different controller. Thanks- Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Whew... thank you very much... I take delivery next Thursday...
This won’t work for those who like to boondock in less than perfect weather.
This video makes no sense since the 2022 Thor models did NOT have cold weather lithium batteries OR battery heating pads. Maybe this is 2024 BUT the video is two years old (so 2022) this is all totally contradictory of their other Lithium battery videos.
DON’T DO IT!!! The batteries can only power the air conditioner for about 45min. Might as well have a generator. I was tricked into “upgrading” from the generator equipped Tellaro I ordered last year and the system is so under powered that I traded it in after 6 months.
Thank you. That was a big question for me.
Yup, the generator is your saving grace for the AC.
I have a Tranquility 19L with the lithium battery system. I can run the AC for about 2 1/2 hours with the fan on low speed. I ended up buying a dual fuel 3500 watt generator to supplement the system. With the generator I can run as long as the propane holds out. I also use the generator at a campsite when not using the AC to charge the batteries . Surprisingly enough it doesn't use a great deal of propane. Initially I was told by Thor to just idle the van as long as needed to accomplish either of those tasks. I personally choose not to do that.
@@mssmssmssmss You can get the upgraded 460amp hour and get longer AC use plus it has autostart. This is what I bought
@@carasvan what was the cost? so you can just upgrade the 200ah batteries the rig already has?
