Gold Bond! Na, I have liked utilities for recovery and some loss prevention. In my experience during 2008, bonds dropped with the Market and took forever to recover. I don't think utilities fell as far, and certainly didn't stay down as long.

I use more long term & mid term treasury bonds compared to gold. However I do use a mixture of these assets as a hedge. Bitcoin is a great speculative hedge though for someone who is younger since when it is refined it is better suited to resist (1) Inflation, (2) No intermediary payment fees (wire transfer to other countries), (3) Will have better cyber security, (4) More convenient...
