I'm more of a fan of Bluetti, due to them using lithium iron phosphate batteries. Jackery is using lithium ion which is an older and less efficient battery chemistry. The Jackery also can't charge at near the rate of the Bluetti. Bluetti can use any panels with a standard mc4 connector, while Jackery forces you to use their panels. As long as they work for you is all that matters. Much love from OK.

@@FORUIDIG Not to be contentious, but what Freighter 109 said is not true. Jackery does not force buyers to use their solar panels. The compatibility issues between any power station and solar panel are: (1) the connector types used by the panel and power station; (2) the maximum voltage a panel produces, (called VOC, or open circuit voltage); (3) the maximum input wattage a power station can accept.
When the power station and panel have different connector types, adapter cables can be purchased to connect them. As for the VOC of a solar panel, it must meet the voltage requirements of the power station it is charging. Regarding maximum input wattage, it's pointless to connect a higher wattage solar panel to a power station than the rate of solar charge the power station allows. I don't know if that damages the power station. Solar panels are notorious for producing less power (wattage) than the manufacturer's claims.
As a case reference: I own both the Jackery 300 and the Bluetti EB55 power stations. The Jackery 300 and Bluetti EB55 have different connector types. I recharge both power stations using an XTAR 100W solar panel. Specifically:
      1) The XTAR panel and the Jackery 300 use a DC 8mm barrel connector, meaning I can connect the Jackery to the XTAR directly out of the box - no adapters required. However, the Bluetti uses an XT60 connector. To connect it to the XTAR, I needed a DC 8mm female to XT60 female adapter cable, which I bought on Amazon. Both power stations work fine with the XTAR (or said another way, the XTAR works fine with both power stations).
      2) The XTAR has a VOC of 23.7V. The Bluetti EB55 accepts a voltage range between 12 to 28V; the Jackery 300 12.6 to 22V. The XTAR panel produces enough voltage to charge both power stations. (The Jackery SolarSaga panel has a VOC of 21.6V.)
      3) As for maximum input wattage allowed, the Jackery 300 can accept only 100 watts of charge from a solar panel and the Bluetti EB55 200 watts. Still for practical and financial reasons, I use the 100W solar panel for both.
To be sure, I am no expert on power stations and panels. Having spent months of frustration and confusion trying to figure this stuff out, I just thought I'd share what I've learned and experienced in hopes that it helps in some way.
BTW, the Bluetti EB55 has much faster charging technology than the Bluetti EB70 that Brook has. Same is true for the Jackery 300, which charges must faster than the Jackery 500. Something to keep in mind.

I have a Bluetti, Jackery and Eco Flow (2), both the Buetti and Eco Flow's use the mc4 connectors, which I use with my regular outdoor (much cheaper than any portable solar panel) solar panels without purchasing any adapters. I agree with Freighter 109. Also, the Bluetti battery has 2500 life cycles and the Jackery only has 500 (Eco Flow also has 500 life cycles, but I can run them in parallel) before they start to degrade. I gave my biggest Jackery and the Jackery portable solar panel to my son and his wife as a starter solar kit. I now charge my remaining Jackery off my house 110, or with my other solar generator's. I also have a dual fuel gas/propane generator as backup, as I live in a colder climate, which can result in limited sunlight depending on the time of year.

I recently invested in two power banks - both Bluetti. At first, I thought about buying a Jackery because that's what seems to be the most popular but before buying anything, I did a bit of research about batteries and thought carefully about what I wanted to use them for and for how long.
The Bluetti that I bought for use in my car when travelling is the EB70 (716Wh, rated 1,000W & 'surge' rated at 1,400W) - chosen because it has a MUCH longer lifespan (5x longer) than a similar Jackery (it's a LiFPO4/Lithium Phosphate v a similar Jackery's Lithium Ion). I bought an Allpowers 200W polycrystaline solar panel (**more about that later ...) but charge it from my house electrics when possible.
The other Bluetti I bought is an AC200Max (2,048Wh, rated at 2,200W & surge 4,800W) - it's a MONSTER and weighs 29Kg so not really suitable for using in a car but I bought it as back up in case of power outages at home (I'm in the UK and convinced we will have power cuts this winter). The AC200Max can be 'expanded' by linking to additional powerbanks (B230 or B300) to increase the capacity - I probably won't do that but at least I have the option.
For the AC200Max, I bought a monocrystaline Bluetti 350W solar panel - I could have used the 200W panel but that would take forever to charge such a large powerbank (the 350W panel isn't suitable for the EB70 powerbank). The 350W solar panel can be linked to another Bluetti 350W monocrystaline solar panel to speed up the charge rate for large powerbanks.
**A word about solar panels ... When I bought the 200W monocrystaline panel I didn't really inderstand the difference between mono and poly and was driven by price - monocrystaline being much more expensive. However, I later learned that monocrystaline panels will work far better than polycrystaline, especially on cloudier days (and we have quite a few in the UK).

I JUST found out that while you drive you can plug a refrigerator into your jackery or bluetti etc and then plug fridge into that power station. This way the fridge stays on AND the power station can charge at the same time.
Also just found out that while you are parked/camping…some power stations provide “a pass through.”..Which means you plug the power station into the solar panels AND keep the fridge plugged into the power station at the same time!
One girl on the fb van group said jackery doesn’t encourage using it to “pass through” like that. But another woman said she’s been doing it for 2 years and has never had a problem doing it.
(course It’s prob best to read your manual to find out if they say it’s ok to do or not though.)

It's worth it next time you replace the car battery to upgrade to a higher amperage one so you have more power stored for an emergency charge if you need it, the same applies to the car alternator go for the higher amperage one to recharge the battery quicker.
But, this is an upgrade that's only worth doing when these items need replacing and obviously only if you can afford to.

Brooke and Pippa - I have not read all the comments but with larger solar panels you will charge the Jackery or Bluetti faster. With 2 - 350 watt Bluetti solar panels you will charge the 700 watt Bluetti in about 2-2.5 hrs. But the 350 watt solar panels are not cheap for sure. Good luck, you seem to be having a blast so far!

I have a late 2013 16" mbpr so I know how it sucks power. One thing I started doing a while back was to try buying everything that is chargeable through USB. Batteries are DC and most electronics are DC. You lose energy converting from DC to 110v and then back from 110v for the electronics to operate.

you're probably aware of this but some of your viewers might not. Heat will greatly diminish lifespan of a battery, so store them in coolest place in your home or vehicle. Car batteries too. After a trip in the car, I usually leave hood slightly open to cool off engine bay. This would prolong lifespan of a lot of critical items under the hood. Just make sure you close it before driving (never drive with hood unlatched).

We bought this for emergency backup power. We had 2 reasonable expectations: recharge our our tiny communicators/TVs (i.e., iphone), and recharge our portable fans. It does both without breaking the bank, costing btw $200-300. But smaller, handheld power banks could do that too; so why spend hundreds instead of $20-100 for the latter? Because in addition to all the other things that can plug into this toaster sized battery (e.g., DC, AC, USB, car lighter, etc.); this has UPS (i.e., uninterrupted power supply).
You can plug your router/modem into it, plug the EB3A into the wall outlet, and you have insurance against loss of wifi in the event of a power failure. We have two EB3As: one with the modem/router; another with a baby cam we use as a security cam. During a power failure both stay on for more than an hour, so if we are away, we can still reach our baby cam features, such as temperature, humidity, listening, looking about, etc. The decision to buy a toaster-sized battery (in comparison to an industrial-sized lipstick power bank) was this UPS feature, which isn't offered on other competitors.
Plus the EB3A would not be such a pain to recharge during a long blackout at emergency stations set up by local authorities because it has a Turbo recharge mode that gets the job done fast. Plus the battery can be recharged from a running car, solar panels, a bicycle DC-generator, or saying SHAZAM. (That last one may be an exaggeration.).
OVERALL, we like that in a pinch, our wifi remains available to reach our baby cam (baby not included) if we are away. And if we're home, we can disconnect the wifi in favor of powering fans to combat the heat (we live on the surface of the Sun) and recharge our iPhones, which take the place of a TV, radio, computer, telephone, flashlight and fidget. It's UPS with benefits.
Ps. Some have noted the weird fan noise. We concur. But using a simple external computer fan--whisper quiet--blowing into the EB3A intake vent (apparently the one shaped like a circle and high up on the left side; as opposed to the exhaust vent situated low on the right side shaped like a triangle) cooled down the battery so well, we don't hear the internal fan come on anymore.

BUT I am laughing!!! The background chime music is killing me.. I’m one of those can’t do background music or certain motor noise sound people.
So I’m laughing because you admit the jackery motor noise is a challenge but then in this video add background repetitive chime “music”.
Thanks for mentioning sound in the reviews for those of us who are sound sensitive. Very important. Motor and fan sound is one reason I haven’t pulled a trigger on a fridge. I buy and discard fans constantly because of the noise factor…. I need background noise and circulation but it has to be the right frequency of lovely background noise.
I tend to click off immediately if there is background repetitive type filler “sound” because it gives me a migraine. But, stuck with ya Girl! Just know your voice is perfect, no background esthetics required or desired from this subscriber. Thanks for the review. I don’t have it because I put my passenger set back in, but that has nothing to do with my use of power stations lol

How long does the 160 last if you use the plug (not usb)? I heard the plug uses up more power.

The thing that annoys me with the EB70 is the AC brick charger. It's noisy and quite bulky.

Off topic for this video, but how did you anchor Pippa's zip line in the back? I do not see anything on the other side of your CRV. The vet will not allow me to travel with my dog in the summer due to a heart murmur. 💔 🤯

Educate yourself on electricity. Then buy an inverter to charge your bluetti.

Bluetti or Jackery? Neither, both are ripoffs, just get a cheap LiFePO4 battery.
