I started to jump 3weeks ago. I feel so much better. It is so much fun! Actually I feel like I am naturally getting to some new jumping styles. When you adupt to regular jumps, you just start to try new and it is fun.
Buddy Lee said to aim for “5 minutes of work 3-5 days a week. Then work up to 5 minutes continuously, then 10 minutes of work, eventually 10 minutes continuous.
Using no rope can be a killer. Used to do that in a Boxing Bootcamp along with Burpees and everything else they could think of. It sucked and great at the same time.
1000% I only jumped rope for a few years. Last September, my favorite jump rope spot was being used for something else, so I went to walk around a nearby park instead. Then I started running to get my heart rate up -- using the same forefoot landing -- and going almost as slow as a walk. I kept doing this several weeks, and got my speed and distance up. I entered my first running race that November -- a 10k (6.2 mile) race in about an hour. I've been hooked on running ever since. I run barefoot-style sandals with that same forefoot landing (you definitely cannot heel-strike in barefoot-style sandals without a considerable about of discomfort). I have a few videos on my channel about barefoot and minimalist-footwear fitness -- including one about taking jump rope form to running. Cheers.
@@keneticchannel Thanks for your comment. I have also been doing more running than jump rope lately and always land on mid-foot/heel if I don't think about it You're right then it's probably the shoes that cause this behaviour. I have always jumped rope barefoot and have never had a problem. I need to start applying the same technique to running now.
I’m glad I found jump rope as an alternative to the gym Because I am a working man I don’t have time for the gym So I jump rope everyday in the comfort of my home 🏡 I used to do running 🏃♂️ but I can tell you personally jump rope is on another level of calorie torcher I burn about 8,000 calories per day
Big fan of both of these guys but Andrew Huberman is brilliant!
Yup.
Here before AthleneX says "Jumping rope improves your gains"
"maybe not the double dutch"
Hearts shattered
:-) Jumping is great regardless.

That's awesome!
Not to mention that jump rope also is great for muscle strength and conditioning I love ❤️ it
I love ❤️ jump rope
Jump rope is a killer workout. I use heavy must Thai ropes and get a crazy shoulder/forearm workout.
Just did it yesterday without rope for starters. Coordination must be trained. Always jumped into the rope after a while

*Jumping ropęs doesnt kill your gains*

Like pretending you're holding jump rope?
But has the technique of landing on balls of feet transferred to running for anyone? Not for me unless I'm running fast or I consciously do it.

@@keneticchannel Subscribed to your channel and started to follow you on strava. You have nice content on UA-cam 👍
Run Barefooted and you will naturally stay off of your heels and only use the balls of your feet.
The best workout.

Because I am a working man

8K calories in how much time of jumping rope?
Hahaha
I'm guessing he's referring to "Lauren Jumps". She's pretty intense in her skipping.
Check out Rush Athletics. He’s dope!
@@krushervince I’ve got his ropes, the Legacy is a monster.
He really is referring to Anna Skips.
