This is a workhorse but cheaper. Awesome! I love those other pits you make though with that insulated fire box. Question. I’ve seen the guys from iron pig patina insulating the fire box door as well as the bottom of the cooking chamber. Is that over kill?
Not sure on the bottom of the smoker. If the door has a damper in it then yes I can see the value in it. But if the door is solid and gonna be cracked or ran open during a cook then it’s a waist of money to me. I’m not a fan of firebox door dampers cause over time they are gonna seize up or fail. Cracking the door is very simple to me. And it works. No sense to have any other gadgets when simplicity works

Yes, counterweight is available. The Smoker starts at $2100 for the base model and the counter way to $250 add-on.
