- In this video titled EU4 1.36 Hungary Guide - Own HALF OF EUROPE In 50 Years I make an EU4 Guide for Hungary for Europa Universalis 4 1.36 King of Kings. With EU4 1.36 King of Kings releasing the meta and the starting moves for many nations on the map has changed, so of course new and up to date guides are needed. This EU4 Hungary starting moves guide or EU4 Hungary starting moves tutorial will ensure that you get a great start for yourself playing as the nation of Hungary . This guide covers the opening moves, diplomacy, estates, alliances, subjects, missions, national ideas, and more! Hungary is one of the best nations for blobbing, having a massive army that is also extremely powerful, being extremely rich, dominating trade and more! After watching this EU4 Hungary guide you will ensure a great start for yourself, and you will have an easy and fun campaign.

If you don't have one already, you should make a Great Horde > Golden Horde guide
Korea! :)
Genoa is an underrated Italian tag and would be super neat to get a guide for
Dai Viet would be welcome.
Muscovy or Burgandy
Hey hawk, if im not remembering correctly, you only lose strong duchies if you lose all subjects; you still maintain with even just one subject. Plus, it doesnt need to be a vassal subject.
Great and satisfying guide!
Correct!
@@harku123 Wasn't it changed in 1.36 tho? Previously PU's didn't count when trying to grant the privilege, but now they do. As a downside, I for some reason remember them fixing it so that it gets removed once you have only 1 vassal/PU 🤔
@@bazurek1875 i remember strong duchies getting the buff in 1.36 but I don't remember the debuff part of it honestly
@@bazurek1875 no the privilege stays with just one pu/vassal in 1.36! i tried it in my hungary game a few weeks ago haha
You need 2 to be able to turn it on, and it only goes away automatically if you have none at all (or if you tag switch).
It's applies to vassals, marches, PUs and client states.
This Finnish mission tree is fire, letting you PU so many nations
You mean Mongolian?
@@woodoofox2225 Hungarians are Finno-Ugric, as are Estonians, Ingrians, Permians, etc.
@@bazurek1875 Hungarian is part of the "Ugric" branch, though, not the "Finnic" one (those are the languages spoken around the Baltic Sea area).
@@jlljlj6991nah, the Finnic branch is spoken all across Western Eurasia.
@@user-un5qv3dc9n Mostly Baltic Sea area, though. In Finnish, Estonian, and even Veps, the branch is even called "Baltic Sea Finnish/Finnic" (itämerensuomalaiset kielet/läänemeresoome keeled/Baltijan meren suomalaižed keled).
i did a Hungary run not long ago in 1.35 and i owned basically everything east of the hre all the way to muscovy (excluding scandinavia and prussia), all the way down to adal or something like that in the south and all the way to the Persian border. i was a damn menace. Hungary really is super super strong, would highly recommend
Great guide ❤ loved the shout to Merc - I myself had a lot of fun with merc in my latest campaign
Hey, I was just thinking of doing a Hussite Hungry challenge..! What a coincidence :D
Superb guide & playthrough! Thank you !
Byz surviving in cephalonia and retaking Rhodes after Constantinople fell is actually hilarious ngl
Love Hungary, probably my favorite nation! Cool vid! In my last run Wallachia allied Byz and I snagged them as a vassal after the first war. Cucked Ottomans and it made the run almost too easy.
I just did that I have 90% of the balkans now the only provinces I don't have now are my Venetian allies provinces and two Ottoman ones
My first successful eu4 run was a Hungary -> Austria -> Germany back in 1.34. I wound up flipping orthodox and destroying the HRE. Managed to get the two achievements I wanted too: For The Emperor and Take That Von Habsburg
I would love to see a Jerusalem guide. Starting as The Knights or as Cyprus
So would I!
31:35 if you're sending a merchant to a node for the purposes of putting the policies on (improve relations etc.) it works to just set them to Transfer not Collect. You get the same modifiers, but can/will usually be better for overall trade income.
11:30, John Hyundai, The Crusader Hungarian!!!
I really like the inclusion of the preview at the start of the guide
Haha Hawk I love and watch all your guides but the next DLC will have an update to Hungary so looks like you're gonna make another guide for Hungary then
yay new red hawk video
Hey bruh. Can you please do a guide (and with details why) which government reform for each tier is the best. Also perhaps throw in unique government reforms that are better to opt out off. Thank you :)
Edit: I see a lot of your save game reviews, and I wonder why (exactly) you rate the chosen government reforms as good or bad, but a guide explaining why would be super awesome, so that I can carry out a game knowing the meta.
Quick tip for the early game: do not rival the ottomans, otherwise they will be more likely to guarantee the nations that you both border
Always swap to Orthodox as Hungary nowdays since you can form Byz later for better NIs. :)
Orthodox Hungary is basically Transylvania lmao
That big Sapmi lmao
27:01 you say that Castile got the Burgundian Succession and have Aragon subsequently but you meant the Iberian Wedding. Just in case new players are viewing.
video too short, wanted a bit more lol. honestly I prefer when you disassemble the HRE because it always feels a little unclean when veteran players join it from outside. but entertaining as always, side note you seem to have less historical tidbits these days, is that because of you want to split the focus between your two types of vids?
I did 10 PUs achievment with Hungary like 2 weeks ago, I had really easy time with that campaign, cut off Ottomans with taking serbia borderline, getting Moldavia, attacking Venice when he got attacked by Ottos, Naples was 1st PU for me and I clicked that monument mission to uprage it to level 3
Portugal next, please (or would you say the 1.35 guide still holds up?)
I understand the diplo guy for the reason of the guide but man I wanted you to grab the trader 😂
FYI, Hungary gets an update and new missions in the upcoming 1.37 DLC
Hey guys, how do you change the interface (map, nation names, colours, etc.) to look like this? Is this a mod or just a newer patch than mine?
What I recommend as Hungary regarding government reforms is taking (as Ireland) elective Monarchy.
The reason for this are two fold:
First of all, to be able to choose the Elective Monarchy you need to unlock Aristo ideas which you will do as Hungary 100% in all of your games as your first idea anyways unlike with some other nations.
Second, when you are an elective monarchy you will GUARANTEED not fall under a PU of Austria cuz you can easily oust Ladislaus by choosing another guy as your king. As second gov reform make sure to take Nobility Election so your random rulers will get even more mana points.
The only hint is that you have to become an elective monarchy before Janos Hunyadi dies. That's the only RNG involved in that strat to avoid being PUed by Austria.
It can be a fun thing to try out, but I wouldn't take it just to prevent the PU. The PU event isn't really an issue as Hungary. The only situation where you're forced into the PU is if Janos and Freiderich (can't remember if that's what he's called, lol) both die and both nations are in regency with Ladislaus as their heir, otherwise you always have the chance to reject that and elect Mathos.
@@lys_mara Yes, I agree. Obviously I am not only suggesting it cuz of the PU but also you will always open up with Aristo as Hungary and in my runs with that strat I had rarely rulers to choose (Elective Monarchy + Nobility Election) which had below 5 mana each so it is definitely worth a try.
I didn't know that burgher loans were affected by Interest Per Annum ideas, I thought the minimum interest was 1%
Do a guide on your car's extended warranty.
This is really cool! Now I only need all dlc's to try it.
I play eu4 too
27:00 Burgudian? Didn't know they were part spanish
can i still get the event of mattyas if janos hunyadi dies?
If the AI can't do it... you gotta do it yourself (not like the Hungary AI could do anything on it's own)
Hungary do be strong tho. Will probably be even stronger with the new DLC...
Day 37 of daily asking for Genoa guide
I don't doubt that
I had tons of fun in 1.30 going Hungary>Saxony>Germany
is the half of Europe in the room right now?
What´s the mod of the words format?
If you mean the font, it's Stellaris UI Font.
Wallachia got guaranteed by the Ottomans in the first year of my game ffs
Another Hungary guide even though nothing has changed since the last one? Instead of a new Poland guide, since that one has changed?
belozero guide?
I’m so hungry for Hungary
hungy hungary
Never works, Austria never(and even if they do they decide to change rivals later) rivals bohemia in my games
Mmmm… lumpy Hungary
erm youre hungary? then go eat something!
