@@Ferrari255GTO Well, yeah but then it defeats the point of doing your job "the right" way, aka, on schedule, done properly and cost effective. That is what will make a once client come again for more.
If I need to pay you twice the price to do something, I might as well go to someone else willing to do your job at the right price. Corporations have the annual revenue to not give a shit some times. A family business does not.
That client got their money's worth and, as shown on the video, was satisfied, to say the least. Not to mention the money that family business earned because of the attitude of the corporation. If corporations did that, every smaller business would not have enough clients to run.

Even if you assume someone with those skills is making 100k+ a year there was about 5 people on the design creation, at rough math thats about $30k. Even if you assume higher, say $50k for the labor, and William said the 1 set of boards was 20k, and the other company probably charged similarly. Still rough math but maybe under $100k for everything? So half the price to a third to do it themself.
They are smart people though and know what they are doing. I mean he mentioned in the video about needing something that anyone could handle. That original squid would have taken so much work to setup for that many people.

I know it's hard to know how much of a mess it really was because he's exaggerating for content, but this video also paints a picture of somebody who really, really, really shouldn't have been put in charge of this. Expecting a supplier to do anything that isn't putting parts in a box and shipping it to be done in under a month is just a mistake.
