Fishing Newport Beach Harbor Back Bay area. Catching Salema, Sargo, and stingrays.
Have you ever try catching those fish that jumps out of the water? I believe they are mullets. I tried everything and can't seem to catch them. Would love to see you do it.
@@walden6272 Hi there! Trust me I would like to catch them as well. They are vegetarian and are extremely difficult to catch on a baited hook. There's a lot of them in the back bay. I have seen people snag them and I have heard of people catching them on bread balls. I snagged one by accident with a crankbait. They do put up a good fight. That's the only one I have ever caught.
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 I see. I did try bread ball and I chum the area too and nothing. I didn't realize they are that extremely difficult to catch. I guess I'll just give up on catching them. lol

Any tips fishing backbay in the winter? Bites seemed to have stopped after November.
Hi Vincent! Yep, it usually slows down in November/December and picks up again in March.
A couple of tips for you.
Fish the strongest tide changes(moving water).
Slow down your retrieve if you are using lures.
Fish hard. You are going to get less fish for more casts than you would March-Oct.
