I really wanna watch that “House Hunter” film
I would like to watch the short you filmed in 2/3 hours! Great video the way.
I agree, try to just get out there and shoot. You'll learn so much. The more you'll make the better you'll become. Also, you should include the link for the film.
Awesome job Robbie... you never disappoint. Be well, stay encouraged, and keep the videos coming! Give the Shutterstock Team my highest.
Glad I stayed till the end. The dancing guy made it all worthwhile
I needed this thank you
7:18 That mayo skit was 🤣
Love this! Using for my film class. Thanks
Brilliant video thanks.
Thank you for these simple and helpful tips!
Really great video, Tysm!!!

ahah i dont mind shooting without an awesome camera. I just need
crew
actor
mic
light
place
or maybe even a friend
This was awesome. Great jokes. Even the last one lmao and you set up for it too. “NOW GO OUT AND MAKE YOUR FILM. im jking do it next week” lollllllll
Geez, don't call me out like this, all the excuses I've used before! :D Great video, needed this, and great tips!
Dope Advice
Wow... put me on Blast! All what you said is good stuff. It just seems no matter how I try to get ahead of those excuses They just become more of more of a barrier to me. I live in Concord NC and it appears virtually impossible to locate other creators to collaborate with. Plus Im a bit of a social introvert so that doesn't help; Nor do I have "friends", social media groups etc. (I've tried The Facebook thingy and stuck out )who I can go to and talk them into joining me on filming pursuits. On top of it all (like most people) I work a regular job (truck driver). I know this is all just another variation of the excuses you've laid out but they are obstacles I just can't seem to brush past. Maybe I just give the excuses too much power IDK but I've decided I need to push harder and not let this paralysis extinguish my dream. I know I can't do it on my own. But as of right now it's all I got.
You've given me good info here at the least to look past my fears. Wish me luck!
Whoah, House Hunter sounds amazing!!! Your next short film?
The best camera is the one you have on you thats why i always have a sony a5000 with me at all times. Good video
How about a LG Stylo 4? 🤔
@@iOWNyouFOOLaskYOmama if i could afford that phone i would use it
Good advices.
The accuracy lmao 😂
This was a great video! Great advice! I have always wanted to make films as well and I am still having trouble deciding which camera to use. I can't decide between Sony, Canon, or Panasonic. I am thinking about the Panasonic g7 or the Sony a6100 or something along those lines. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks for any help you can give me. I know it doesn't really matter what camera you have as long as you work with what you got. Thanks again!
G7 is cheap, 4K and gives great results.
I would even get rid of a pesky dp, I would say talent, audio, and you direct and film.
Is this downtown Denton, Texas?
Living in Europe and we are in total confinement due to the COVID-19 situation (Police are patrolling the streets, we are not allowed to be outdoors for more than half an hour per day). Since I'm spending so much time alone, at home, with my cat I've been wanting to work on my creativity and filmmaking skills. Considering the situation though that means, no crew, no locations apart from my flat, maximum one actor (+ my cat), but you know what despite the restrictions, I'm pretty sure something simple is definitely doable if you put time and effort into it (plus now you're not spending time looking for a crew and locations 'cause you know that you won't get any...)
Where is the speakers channel? I would like to watch his short films
cool
A mayonnaise commercial? lol That's actually a good idea. It would through them off so much.
"You still created the content." Commented under the video. I still created the content. So I am halfway to the writers guild. Now I rest.
When the camera whip pans, why does everything look diagonal? I have that issue with some footage I'm working on right now myself.
It's a result of a thing called rolling shutter - it's been a problem with digital sensors for a while. Some cameras have it worse than others.
It depends on
a) the camera sensor
b) the speed you are panning with,
...experiment with a different speed for different focal lenghts.
And if nothing helps, and its vital to your shot... do it in post :-(
a mayonnaise commercial, great!!
7:30 im ded 😂
I got a 200$ 1997 camcorder for 2 bucks at an estate sale
Going for a vintage look is so cheap and it looks amazing I'm using it to shoot my pilot
The crew and cast part is tough.
I have a Sony a6300. I like it but it is hard to work with.
Rere333 very simple to work with and it’s one of the best cameras.. know it better
that's me.... I don't have the time and then a 3 day weekend of watching movies and not working on my movie
we definitely have time now (quarantine 2020)
... link to the film?
Do you still make short films?
Lovely video.which tripod you are using at 1min 9 second at video time?
Was this shot in Denton Texas?
I believe it was. I am absolutely certain they are in front of the Campus Theater in downtown Denton.
I began to wonder myself because I recognized one of the actors.
My problem is finding other people who want to be part of a crew. I've tried joining film making clubs, but it's all swamped with other people wanting their projects made first. I have a camera with a tripod and slider and sound recording gear, and I have about a millions scripts written, but there's just no one around who is interested.
What kinda ideas ya got?
I'm writing the scrip for my first short now. The one rule in this video that I'm breaking is about location. The movie needs to take place in Silicon Valley in big expensive offices, but we're on the other side of the U.S. and we're 16 so we can't exactly go there. We also need guns and a chopper, but we're gonna figure that out when we get there and likely use toys and special camera tricks and what not. We don't care if it looks cheesy, it's a parody of an actual film and we might get like 30 people to watch it.
work with canon 600D ... ok
Same lmao
Ayo does anyone want to shoot a mayonnaise commercial with me
mmm...protocol
That rolling shutter though 🤢
Awesome tips check out my guerilla music video tips happy filming!
That's funny I have been trying to meet other film makers I live in Garden Grove California and I can't find anyone who makes films or like to make films what if someone wants to learn or even lend a hand holding something?
Man, you are right next to LA! There's sure to be a group of folks out there makin' stuff. Or even, grab some of your friends who aren't in filmmaking and get them interested. I've done it before!
The first excuse literally just the first one. I can't find free or paid reliable people. Also idl what the film community in Washington is. Lol
nah you only need 1 person to make a film
Background Music is ANNOYING🙆
