Wow! As a child, my father and I ( and a bit later just me) built some rc planes back then. I always regretted getting rid of the transmitter and receiver in a garage sale. (Albeit at the time I wanted the money for a PSP) It was always a bit too expensive for me to get back into it but now I think I can scratch that itch again! Thanks!!

Hi, great build vid, 1:32:48 Sanding the wing tips underside, creates what is called washout, that lets the wing root, stall before the tip stall's great for countering the effect's of stall's....
Steam or even hot water can be used to bend the wood, if you completely soak ot you have to hold it in the desired shape until it dries however you can make some very nice curves this way. You can use pins or tacks to hold the workpiece in its shape.

One comment: at 33:50 for the V shape of wings I would sand the central part with sand paper glued on a perfect square block of hard wood. This will ensure a very flat surface on both wing's ends and good fit with desired angle (dihedral).

its not the co2 in your breath to speed up ca glue but the moisture. ;) creating a small chamber with hands and breath upon it helps the ca kicking in.

Cool beans. It must have took a lot of work to edit the video. While I have yet to build a mini, micro plane I have built several 400 mm wing span planes that are similar in sjze to the full sized Vapor. For kits or parts such as receivers & servos I have been using either Minimum RC out of China or I believe its called MicroAces out of Great Britian.

this is such a cool little build but i wish there were smaller servos those actuators looks incredibly fragile too fragile for my clumsy hands if the kf606 had an elevator it would have been so perfect i have one of those 2 channel flyers and going up and down was such a pain because your only choice was to rely on gravity which will takes more time compared to a real functional elevator
Nick Leichty makes servos in the .4 gram range, but theyre like 60 bucks a piece unfortunately, but hes got a good RC shop, I think I put a link for his store at the bottom of the list of links in the pinned comment. The linear servos are a good lightweight option, but yeah there's not much else in the way of ultra lightweight servos, short of hand making them. Couldnt agree more about the KF606 having a 3rd channel, but another option is the micro helicopters you can find on ebay. They use the same thrust differential system like the KF606, but most have a 3rd channel for forward/back control using a motor/prop as well. You could swap the motor for an actuator, or just use the motor and mechanically limit the range of motor so your elevator doesnt deflect to like 90 degrees.
If youre using the Deltang RX you'd have to go with a Spektrum transmitter, as the Deltang uses the Spektrum frequencies/protocols. Unfortunately most RX/TXs these days use proprietary signals, so you gotta go with whatever is compatible. Anything from E-Flite/Parkzone should also work with the Deltang, as they use Spektrum frequencies as well.
For this particular receiver, you plug the lipo in and wait for the LED to start flashing rapidly (it flashes slowly at first for a few seconds), then turn on your transmitter with it in bind mode and the two should connect.

The thrust angle isnt wrong, as I mentioned before, countless people have built this plane with these plans and it works just fine. The reason I was having troubles was because I didnt get the wing mounted flush with the fuselage so it ended up with a negative angle of attack.
information this design has issues. 1:39:06 the wing chord length and the horiz-stab span are over-large. the stabs should be a little farther from the wing/cg. the wing can be made LIGHTER, via plenty of careful sanding.! ideally, the root chords of the stabs should be equal in length. in the plan, the orientation of the vert-stab was 'backwards'. cg is supposed to be located at thirty percent of chord. when a model has a controllable elevator there is no need for vertical offset in the thrust line. however, IF a certain amount of fixed positive aoa at the wing is wanted, the angle should be built into the WING mount.! the pushrod is HEAVIER than it Could have been.! thanks to the use of cf and shrink tube, instead of wood and thread. d
This plane has been around a long long time (first shown in the Flying Models magazine in 1958 and modified over the years by Ralph Bradley, another long time RC designer/builder, winning a couple different awards with it), countless people have built/flown it with much success in multiple variations.

I've built planes that weighed in at 2 grams ready to fly, I know about lightness, but its not the end-all-be-all, wingloading is, and the wingloading was fine. Could it be lighter? You bet. Was it 100% necessary? Nope. You must be real fun at parties lol

24 - 28awg should work, these little motors dont pull much as far as current goes.

Aliexpress has the crossover rx's!! A few different ones I just got one 1s with 5a brushless esc. Couldn't believe how small it was!!

The thrust angle isnt wrong, as I mentioned before, countless people have built this plane with these plans and it works just fine. The reason I was having troubles was because I didnt get the wing mounted flush with the fuselage so it ended up with a negative angle of attack.
information this design has issues. 1:39:06 the wing chord length and the horiz-stab span are over-large. the stabs should be a little farther from the wing/cg. the wing can be made LIGHTER, via plenty of careful sanding.! ideally, the root chords of the stabs should be equal in length. in the plan, the orientation of the vert-stab was 'backwards'. cg is supposed to be located at thirty percent of chord. when a model has a controllable elevator there is no need for vertical offset in the thrust line. however, IF a certain amount of fixed positive aoa at the wing is wanted, the angle should be built into the WING mount.!
the pushrod is HEAVIER than it Could have been.! thanks to the use of cf and shrink tube, instead of wood and thread. d
This plane has been around a long long time (first shown in the Flying Models magazine in 1958 and modified over the years by Ralph Bradley, another long time RC designer/builder, winning a couple different awards with it), countless people have built/flown it with much success in multiple variations.
1:43:40 bla-bla-bla reality. any model aircraft should be made as LIGHT as is practical.! the process of doing so includes making EVERY part of a model aircraft as LIGHT as possible.
distribution of mass (dom) happens; and a 'tuned' dom has to be PLANNED for. in an aircraft, it is CRITICAL that the amount of mass located aft-of the cg/c-m be Minimized in every practical way. d
I've built planes that weighed in at 2 grams ready to fly, I know about lightness, but its not the end-all-be-all, wingloading is, and the wingloading was fine. Could it be lighter? You bet. Was it 100% necessary? Nope.
