I love Taylor guitars. Actually some laminate guitars are the best sounding. A lot of Martins are laminate as well and they're very popular too. I never base my decision on the materials used in a guitar as long as they're a quality built guitar that's known to hold up well over the years. I always base my decision on feel and tone. My Taylor sounds better every year it seems. I have three Taylors now and none needed a setup or any tweaking whatsoever...perfect action, spot on intonation and they stay in tune very well.

Great review! I just bought this same guitar a couple weeks ago, and I love it for all the reasons you have mentioned. I have played a lot of guitars over the years, and I believe that for the money, this is the best sounding, best playing guitar out there.

This sounds fantastic. I see a lot of polarized love/hate in regard to the ES2. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole researching it because it’s what the audience will ultimately hear if I buy one and gig it. I read Taylor updated the preamp. So maybe it’s a matter of new vs old preamp. But yours sounds great.
