In fact, Bajie's story has some beautiful morals that cannot be conveyed in the English dub. Among them, pig and spider have the same pronunciation in Chinese. Therefore, when Bajie was punished as a pig, the maid mistook the pig for a spider and was willing to be punished as a spider to find Bajie. Bajie's rake and spider's silk represent the beautiful pastoral love life of "men farming and women weaving" in ancient China.

Everyone feels bad about Bajie (Pig guy), but the spider demon girl literally abandoned her godhood to find Bajie in the mortal realm, and even after she found out that he got cursed into a pig, she still loves him. Bajie also intentionally being mean to spider demon because he know he's cursed and she will only suffer if she's with him, its a love story that just wasn't meant to be.
If you know the lyrics it's heartbreaking. The male expresses how he is ready to give up and beg her to reject him in the next life, while the female keeps hopeful until the very end.. it's beautifully written
In China, there is a word "male plowing and female weaving", meaning that men work in agriculture and women weave, describing that men and women in the countryside each have their own responsibilities, and work together in harmony. bajie holding a nail harrow, spiders spitting silk and weaving cloth, this kind of happy days is unique to the romance of the Chinese people.

Bajie, formerly Admiral of the Celestial Fleet, was setup, cast down, and turned into a grotesque monster so he can be a pawn in the Journey to the West. In his long life, he came across his lady love many times through a multitude of her incarnations, just to see that love frustrated.
He wasn't set up. He was always lecherous and kind of sloppy in his duties. So his transformation (it wasn't part of his punishment and was a pure accident) and him going on the journey for atonement was apt.

That scene in which Zhu Bajie wakes up from his dream and joins his fellows on the hill, is an homage to the ending scene of Stephen Chow's Journey to the West. The main point is to feel how deeply saddened and broke he is--Wukong with his staff on his shoulder, pretending as if he is okay, whistling, moving, and all of them, Tang Sanjuang, Wukong, Bajie and Oneung (in Korean pronunciation, for I do not know his Chinese name) leaving their most precious love behind.

For those looking for some clarification for the chapter 4 ending cutscene, Zhu Bajie was originally a Grand Marshall of the celestial court. He admired the white-haired lady (goddess of the moon) and chased after her. He bumps into a maid-in-waiting (Chang'e) and she falls in love with Zhu Bajie. Zhu Bajie finds out that the Jade Emperor is having an affair with the goddess of the moon and the Jade Emperor, in order to hide his affair, banishes Zhu Bajie into the mortal realm. Seeing this, Chang'e willingly gives up her godhood to be with her lover and gets sent to the mortal realm and transformed as a yaogai (spider). After Zhu Bajie was banished to the mortal realm, he wakes up in Gao Village and sees Gao Cuilan (a different person; she is not Chang’e). He chases after her thinking that she is his lover (Chang'e) but after seeing his true form as a pig, Gao Cuilan gets freaked out and he runs away in tears. This is not Chang'e as she would recognize Zhu Bajie immediately. Fast forward a bit, to the cave/hot spring scene (this is during the Journey to the West). He comes across some spider yaoguais taking a bath. He turns into a catfish so he can get a better look at the ladies (yes, in the novel he is kind of a pervert). He swims towards the spider lady (Chang'e) who immediately recognizes the catfish as Zhu Bajie. The two reunite as lovers, however the Jade Emperor has decreed that their love always be destined to end in heartbreak (Zhu Bajie was sentenced to 1,000 lifetimes of love tragedies). An extra sad bit I found online: The last lines of the song in the cutscene: The female singer: "Please remember to look back when we meet in the next life." The male singer: "Please don’t look back when we meet in the next life" cre: @louieedward5713
Where are you getting this info from? Certainly not from the game...? Many inaccuracies, at least from standard Chinese folklore. For one, Chang E is the goddess on the moon, not a waiting maid. Zhu Bajie was punished because he literally molested Chang E.
that maid is not Chang'e, in the original novel, she is a maid in purple dress who pours wine for Bajie, but Bajie has not noticed her because he is focusing on Chang'e.
@@natn41r there many lunar deities in Chinese mythology. Chang e can be seen as the godess of the moon and as a title for immortal maids who serve Taiyin Xingjun on the moon
Bajie turned out to be the marshal of heaven. He was sentimental and loved Chang 'e, and he met a maid-in-waiting who also loved Bajie in the process of chasing him. However, he found out that the jade emperor was cheating, and he was banished to the mortal world in order not to leak the news, and turned him into an ugly pig demon. The maid-in-waiting of heaven came to earth in pursuit of Bajie and became a spider essence. They recognized each other at a glance, and they could have lived happily together, but heaven. Bajie had to send Tang Priest to the Western Heaven for Buddhist scriptures, and the monsters along the way were demonized by heaven and had to be eradicated. Bajie had to face his former lover until the maid-in-waiting died, and he didn't dare to love the maid-in-waiting or recognize his children. No, what the animation expressed was that Bajie has not changed at all, he is very determined. Unfortunately, Spider has changed, but love allows her to retain her humanity.
Here's the real lore: The first beautiful lady Bajie was chasing is not Chang'e. She's the Daoist godess Tai Yin Star (similar to the loong boss Kang Jin Star, but in charge of a different star of course). In Chinese mythology Tai Yin represents moon, so she's the Daoist moon godess, mistress of Guang Han - the moon palace. The guy stood beside Tai Yin is Jade Emperor himself. Unlike Kang Jin, Tai Yin Star has a very high up place in celestial court, also a secret lover of Jade Emperor, that's why they both have holy light circle behind their heads. Bajie stumbled into their secret date, that's why emperor got so mad (scared too) he not only cast him out of heaven, but also turned him into a pig. The second girl Bajie ran into is A Chang'e. Originally Chang'e is not a person, nor god, but a title for moon palace maid, servants of Tai Yin. Later myth stories often mistake Chang'e as a person, as "godess of Guang Han". But the real mistress of Guang Han has always been Tai Yin Star, Chang'e are her maid. In the novel Journey to The West, Tai Yin Star once helped Wukong defeated a specific powerful yaoguai, when she descended to the mortal realm, she brought a Chang'e with her. The fate of that Chang'e was never told by any story, but obviously Game Science now made their own version of explaination: she was cast out too and turned into a spider yaoguai. In the novel JTTW, 7 spiders and a centipede guai tried to kidnap Wukong's master, Wukong defeated them all. In the Game Science version one of the spiders is that Chang'e, she recognized Bajie and had a wonderful relation with him before everything turned into chaos. Bajie spared her life but he had to continue his journey. Since then she's been waiting for Bajie's return from the west.

Maybe she then became one of the Chang'e, but who knows, there's no official explaination yet, and probably never will be :)

Piggy agreed to the deal. Piggy’s task was to get caught and sent to the earthly world (reincarnated as a pig) to kill Wukong who was pinned under a huge mountain. That’s the plot in the original novel. In the Video Game, the whole thing was rewritten so that Chang’e fell in love with Piggy, so when Piggy get caught and sent to the earthly world to be a pig. Old Tru wanted her to forget him, there was only pain with him. She hopes he won't forget her, because without him she only feels miserable When translating, there are many interesting things that have to be changed to make the meaning easier to understand. There are a few responses between the two that carry a lot of meaning, but in general, Spider Tinh thinks that being with him is happiness, but Pigsy thinks that being with her will be miserable. She calls it a cool breeze, he sees it as rain. He called it noisy, she only saw peace. He is forgotten, she is longing. She called it happiness, he just feared it was sadness. The part that blooms quickly and fades quickly (not that it fades quickly) means you have to change your mind, because this answer is originally Dam Hoa - Thuong Cau. Translated directly, if you listen to it, you don't understand it, not knowing the meaning.😢 Dam Hoa here is from the phrase "Dam Hoa Nhat Ema", which refers to Vi Da (Hoa Quynh blooms only because of Vi Da). The Dam Hoa in that sentence only blooms because of Vi Da, but the comparison here is: The story tells that Dam Hoa was originally just a small, very ordinary and weak flower. One day a strong wind blew and Dam Hoa almost couldn't stand it, but at that time a young man passed by to protect him. Damn flowers from that wind. Dam Hoa was touched and fell in love with him. Dam Hoa wondered when he would return. I waited for him for a thousand years, then two thousand years, but he still didn't come back. Spider Tinh is Dam Hoa, and Ba Gioi is Vi Da. Bat Gioi replied, Thuong Cau, as in the phrase Thuong Cau White Clothes, refers to the clouds in the sky that change unpredictably, just like life changes unpredictably. (This sentence is from Du Phu's poem) There are a lot of hidden meanings, Chinese music is often mixed, but just translating without understanding the meaning won't reveal everything :(
So Bajie, from the very beginning, always chasing after the wrong ladies who never loved him for what he is, either being a "lowly" Marshal in Heaven, or a pig monster on Earth. While that fairy lady keeps following him all the way from Heaven to Earth and always accepts him for what he is? And yet, in the end, he still abandoned her for the sake of... enlightenment? Man, love her back and stay with her lah! 😢😢
Doubt its enlightenment, even the narrator states that Bajie attained Buddhahood at the end of the journey but still couldn't shake his nature (lovestruck fool) which he notes, isn't a bad thing. See Chapter 5 for what happens when you defy Heaven's punishment. See what they did to Wukong at the start for the same. While persistently pursuing her, he accidentally bumped into Tai Yin Xing Jun's maid, Chang'e. From that moment, Chang'e fell deeply in love with him at first sight. One day, while spying on Tai Yin Xing Jun, he discovered a secret affair between her and the Jade Emperor. Upon being caught, he was banished to the mortal realm. • In the mortal realm, Tian Peng found love with a noble maiden in Gao family. Their union was blissful until a celestial decree transformed him into the swine-like creature, Zhu Bajie. • Chang’e, was banished to the mortal realm and transformed into a monstrous arachnid due to her forbidden affection for the mortal, Zhu Bajie. Upon their reunion, they kindled a passionate love, enduring until Zhu Bajie embarked on a pilgrimage to the West with the monk Tang Sanzang. Despite the passage of five centuries, during which she aged into a withered crone, Chang’e persisted in her unwavering devotion, awaiting Zhu Bajie’s eventual return.
Spider demon was a beautiful maid served in heavenly court, where she fell in love with the Grant Marshel (Bajie). This maid was banished from heaven as a punishment for her failure to guard the immortality elixir from the mischievous Monkey King. She had no complain because it gave her the chance to meet her beloved Marshel again in the mortal realm. She heard the Marshel descended into mortal realm as a pig, thus she chose to become a spider, because "a pig" sounds the same as "spider" in Chinese. The Marshel became the pig, was punished to have 1000 lifetime of failure to pursue love. Thus, he said "in next life please forget about me" Thus, she said "in next life please remember me"
If they ever gonna make the second game. It gonna be Kratos all over again. In the book, most Yaoguai is a pet or family relatives with high court member in Heaven. Root to the core.
Spider doesnt mind 1000 lifetimes of sufferiing for love even if pig makes sacrifice of prentending to not know her to protect spider from heavenly court. THIS IS PEAK DIVERSITY 😅😅
But the game has a lot of different animals, can it be count diversity too? Also, what do you expect of the diversity when your main character is a literal monkey?
During their journey to fetch scriptures, Tang Sanzang and his disciples came across seven extremely beautiful spider spirits who were taking a bath. Little did they know that these seven spider spirits were actually the seven fairies in heaven. They were banished to the mortal world due to being implicated in Sun Wukong's stealing of peaches and causing a commotion in the Heavenly Palace. It was Bajie who discovered them first. At a glance, he recognized that one of the fairies was the one who had secretly admired him. As soon as their eyes met, the fairy also immediately recognized her beloved. Later, the two had a romantic encounter, and Bajie quietly saved this fairy. He knew that once Sun Wukong arrived, he would surely kill all of them. After all, that monkey Sun Wukong is naturally cruel and merciless. No monster can escape his cudgel. Moreover, if this matter is known by Tathagata, the consequences would be unimaginable. Because the journey to fetch scriptures is essentially a journey of redemption. Once they have worldly desires, Tathagata will certainly not spare them, and their lovers will also be implicated. Bajie did all this silently and buried this secret deep in his heart.
"Hurry up and find out what Marshal Tianpeng(Bajie) turned into when he was demoted to the mortal world." "I found out. He turned into a(zhi) pig(zhu)." "Okay, then I'll turn into a spider(zhi zhu) too."
Here is the complete story for those who want: Bajie was actually a high rank marshal in heaven and the young girl whom he collided was the previous form of violet spider (a normal fairy in heaven) she fell in love with the marshal at first sight. Soon Bajie was punished by Jade Emperor and sent to earth as a pig for running after and chasing his love the moon lady. The young fairy inquired in the heaven and by mistake she heard the term spider, since pig and spider have the same pronounciation in chinese so she became a spider in order to meet the marshal (now bajie) and by happenstance one day she was bathing in a pond where bajie met her In the last cutscene video after Zhu bajie falls from heaven and wakes up the girl he saw was her first wife named cuilan. After he showed his actual form by mistake (as he was drunk) she was scared and they were shortly divorced, violet spider was the only lady who loved him despite his ugly looks as a pig and that's why bajie also loved her. However bajie never kept contact with her and her family (the second sister and some other few spider who calls her mother) in order to save her from the eyes of heaven (as he and his former master son wukong were instructed from celestial court to kill all spider sisters, during journey to the west to attain buddhahood). However bajie spared the life of the violet sister killing all the others (however the second sister survived by some way as we can see her in the game). The violet spider just stayed alive throughout the years to show bajie her daughter and she wanted him to accept the relationship between them but bajie still cared for their lives and kept silent. That is why you hear violet spider saying "You haven't changed a bit, you fool..." In fact this story in China has a moral significance. Bajie's rake (the stick in his hand) and violet spider's silk represents the love between "men farming and women weaving" in ancient china. Edit: In the game it might seem like the violet spider wants to kill Bajie to take revenge for her sisters, but she was probably just playing with him as we can clearly see them joking and laughing at times. But the violet spider was instructed by the centipede (Hundred eyed daiost master) to kill the destined one as a token of gratitude for the relic that he gave her in order to live longer (as spiders have have short lifespan). Also note that this centipede wanted to kill bajie's former master son wukong as bajie said in the game. As the centipede took the relic from the violet spider it could no longer be used by her and she soon died due to very old age as in the cutscene. If not the violet spider wanted to kill his friend the destined one bajie would obviously let her live with the relic till her natural death (as it might increase her life but not grant her immortality). But bajie was conscious of what could happen next so he quickly instructed wukong "Go after her! She has the relic" (otherwise she would be killed by the centipede) However bajie did visited her grave in the meantime and he used a special preservation orb to preserve her corpse from rotting and keep it fresh for lifelong as a last token of love towards her which can be even found in the game but be sure not to take it, or you will be filled with guilt.
“Hi what happened to Bajie, havent seen him for awhile” “He was punished to the earthy world as zhi zhu(a pig)” “oh,as a zhi zhu (spider)ok,i will follow him”
This segment of the story depicts Tianpeng's admiration for the Taiyin Star Lord (not Chang'e). The maid he encountered on the way was actually Chang'e (in this context, "Chang'e" is a title, and all maids of the Taiyin Star Lord are called Chang'e). The Jade Emperor and the Taiyin Star Lord were secretly meeting when Tianpeng stumbled upon them. Fearing for his reputation, the Jade Emperor banished Tianpeng to the mortal world. This Chang'e, who never forgot about Tianpeng, descended to the mortal realm as a spider demon. When the banished Zhu Bajie saw Gao Cuilan at Gao Village, he mistook her for Chang'e and pursued her, but when Gao Cuilan saw Zhu Bajie's true form, she was terrified. Zhu Bajie continued his journey westward and reached the Pansi Cave, where the reincarnated Chang'e (as the spider demon) immediately recognized her beloved pig-headed lover. They fell in love, and Zhu Bajie released the spider demon. Because they had a daughter together, the spider demon waited for Zhu Bajie until her dying day... Due to Zhu Bajie's earlier mistake (confusing Gao Cuilan with Chang'e), the spider demon, before dying, said, "你还是像以前一样笨" ("You're still as foolish as ever"). This remark implied that Zhu Bajie dared not acknowledge them as mother and daughter, fearing retribution from the heavens. The spider demon actually knew everything. I think she deliberately absorbed one of the "six roots" just to endure long enough to see Zhu Bajie one last time. When she absorbed it, she already knew her fate was sealed, but she had a daughter with Zhu Bajie. She wanted to see Zhu Bajie, to let him see their daughter. When Zhu Bajie spoke harshly, she understood his feelings. The spider demon had long known that meeting Zhu Bajie would mark her death. Zhu Bajie also understood everything; he saw that the spider demon understood his intentions, but he had no other choice. He had to say those hurtful words, wanting to sever ties to protect their daughter and the spider demon. But since the spider demon had absorbed the root, her death was inevitable, and Zhu Bajie could do nothing. Both the spider demon and Zhu Bajie were old spirits, fully aware of everything. They both knew what the other was thinking. The story's conclusion is one of powerlessness and resignation. Although they spoke many words, it conveyed a deeper sense of "相顾无言,唯有泪千行" ("gazing at each other speechlessly, with only tears flowing"). “蜘蛛 只猪” ("Spider" and "just a pig")-in Chinese, these three words sound the same. Chang'e misheard, turning Tianpeng into a pig when she heard "spider." So Chang'e also chose to become a spider. "你知道天蓬转世成什么了吗?” (“Do you know what Tianpeng was reincarnated as?”) “你说天蓬啊,他转世成了只猪。” (“You mean Tianpeng? He was reincarnated as a pig.”) “蜘蛛啊,那我也要变成蜘蛛。” (“A spider? Then I also want to become a spider.”) Despite never having misheard anything before, she became "deaf" at the moment she decided to descend to the mortal realm, as if fate had already written a script where they were destined to be star-crossed lovers. A rake, a tool for farming; and silk, used for weaving. The ultimate fantasy of ancient Chinese life: "男耕女织" ("men plow, women weave").
I love this story and hope it helps you guys unfamiliar with the backstory with my understanding. In the original story of Journey to the West, Bajie was a leader of the Heaven army and was exiled to the world as a pig demon due to flirting with Chang 'e. At the very beginning of the film, Bajie is chasing after Chang'e, but he accidentally collides with a maidservant, who falls in love with Bajie. Then Bajie anciently finds Chang 'e and high-level immortal adultery (love is forbidden in heaven), that's why Bajie gets exiled as a pig demon. The maidservant followed him down to the world and was reborn as a spider spirit. Eventually, they meet again and have a little girl. Then, in the story from Journey to the West, the spider spirit's brother (Hundred Eyes, the final chapter boss) wants to eat Tangseng and be defeated by WuKong and Bajie. Back to the BMW, Bajie didn't kill all the monsters as Wukong said, he kept the spiders alive but had to follow Tangseng and Wukong for the further journey. That's the reason why Bajie looks at the distant dilapidated house at the end of the film, there is his love (maybe he knows nothing about his little girl). After Wukong died, for some reason, The Hundred Eyes was sent back to the Ziyun mountain (which might be due to the so-called business from heaven), The spider spirit finally met Bajie again and hoped for an unusually late wedding. I believe Bajie ignored her and their daughter at her end time because Bajie trying to protect them by keeping them away from the struggles and business in heaven. There is proof of Bajie's love, an 'Easter Egg' can be found at the end of this chapter, we can find a tomb for the spider spirit built by Bajie and an item called 'Zhuyan Zhu' in front of the tomb (I'm not sure the exact name in the English version). This item belongs to Bajie and can keep the appearance never change according to the Journey to the West. By the way, Chang 'e is often considered the moon goddess and lives on the moon with a pet rabbit in Chinese mythology. Chang 'e is often associated with rabbits, you can see Chang 'e look and hop like a rabbit in the film. These little details are fascinating. That's also the reason why China's lunar exploration program and its lunar rover are named Chang'e and Yuetu (Moon Rabbit). A little Chinese romance.
This is how you do video game story telling. American studios like Bungie, Respawn and Rocksteady should take notice. This is how its done, This is how to engage with Modern Gamers who are the actual fabled Modern Audience they keep chasing.
In fact, there are many ancient Chinese novels that are even more explosive, such as Fengshen Yanyi, where King Zhou of Shang has sex with foxes and jade stones, not to mention another novel called Liaozhai, which is full of human ghost and human demon love. Chinese people played lgbtq hundreds of years ago
I couldn't help but imagine what if they put by Lowell Lo (一生所爱), or some modern remake to the scene. As a homage, this would be truly incredible. Haven't played the game yet but this story really drew me in.
The Taoist priest in the game told the player that she was a female immortal at the time. It was said that Marshal Tianpeng was thrown into the mortal world by the Jade Emperor and turned into a pig. In Chinese, turning into a pig and turning into a spider are pronounced the same. , she heard wrongly and was reincarnated as a spider. She kept waiting for Bajie.

For those looking for some clarification for the chapter 4 ending cutscene,
Zhu Bajie was originally a Grand Marshall of the celestial court.
An extra sad bit I found online:
The last lines of the song in the cutscene:
The female singer: "Please remember to look back when we meet in the next life."
The male singer: "Please don’t look back when we meet in the next life"
cre: @louieedward5713
Where are you getting this info from? Certainly not from the game...? Many inaccuracies, at least from standard Chinese folklore. For one, Chang E is the goddess on the moon, not a waiting maid. Zhu Bajie was punished because he literally molested Chang E.
that maid is not Chang'e, in the original novel, she is a maid in purple dress who pours wine for Bajie, but Bajie has not noticed her because he is focusing on Chang'e.

so Baji went pervert mode in bath and met his girl. Then they killed each other???
This is a sad story that two people are doomed to have no fate. To love someone is not to care about him when he is good, but to love you when he is most embarrassed. This is a fairy among women, thinking of worldly pleasures. Be trapped in a cocoon, year after year
What is in great contrats with the mythology, as he was banished because of himself only. I getting tired of stories that paints the gods as evil, and the other creatures as victims.

“To GRIEF deeply is to have LOVED, fully.” -Faye of Jotunheim
In the Spyder's eyes, Bajie is always the modt handsome like the frist meeting
No, what the animation expressed was that Bajie has not changed at all, he is very determined. Unfortunately, Spider has changed, but love allows her to retain her humanity.
Here's the real lore:
The first beautiful lady Bajie was chasing is not Chang'e.

Isn't Chang'e's husband Hou yi?
@@somachung4214 The real name of Hou Yi's wife is Heng'e (恒娥), people in Han dynasty call her Chang'e to avoid the taboo of Emperor Liu Heng.
@@boliu3540 so Chang'e and heng'e are the same person or different? If they are, then isn't she still the wife to Hou yi? If she is the wife of Hou yi, then doesn't that mean she cheated on Hou yi with the jade emperor ?
@@somachung4214 The story has a lot of versions, the original one only said that Heng'e stole her husband's immortal medicine and flew to the moon, the rest are people's imaginations, after all it's a story been told for 2000 years. Now almost everyone accept the version that she is The Chang'e, but like I said, some have doubts because Chang'e is just a title for moon palace maid. Maybe she then became one of the Chang'e, but who knows, there's no official explaination yet, and probably never will be :)

I think this is the best portrayal of Bajie and Marshal Tian Peng. It's really beatiful.

猪八戒:请别再回眸(可能是怕因为再与他相遇会让她再次遭到诸多痛苦)

Let me explain. there are two laws in Heavenly Court you should know first, one immortals are not allowed to fall in love with each other; and two, immortal can not come down to earth without permission.(They need to follow the Taoist rules of purity.)
Bajie was originally a general in the Heavenly Court, he admired the Moon God (Taiyin) and met the Moon God's maid (ChangE), but he accidentally saw the Moon God's date with the Jade Emperor.
The Jade Emperor charges Bajie molested CangE and relegates Bajie to the mortal world to be reincarnated as a pig in order to prevent his scandal from spreading.
After that CangE privately descends to earth to looking for bajie. And because of that she became a demon and lost her immortality as penalty
The love story of Zhu Bajie is very heartbreaking, it made me cry. 😭

A sad story indeed. Somehow it reminds me of a rumor that if a woman has to marry one of the four main characters in the Journey to the West, chances are good she would marry Bajie rather than the monkey
Of course... Wukong is actually a sociopath and know nothing about romance at all...
It’s not rumor, it’s truth
I’m Chinese who read the original novel when I was a 4th grader in elementary school. Piggy was trying to lure Chang’e ( The Godess of Moon, also Jade Emperor’s mistress), so Jade Emperor (Gods’ big boss) was pissed off and had him thrown into a pig’s womb to be a pig.
so he was just pervert? Then whats up with spider girl, she had crush on him and searched him or wat
@@munkhtuvshinmt no he’s not a pervert in the original novel. The Jade Emperor wants to stop Buddha’s (a Buddhist king affiliated with the Jade Emperor) advance into Taoist world, so the Jade Emperor arranged for Piggy (the Heavenly Admiral General) to get caught in a scandal.
Chang’e chose to be reincarnated as a spider cuz she mistaken “他是只猪”(now he’s a pig) for “他是蜘蛛” (now he’s a spider) cuz the two sentences sound the same in Mandarin. She chose to be a spider to continue their love in the earthly world. It’s complicated. Lol
The Heavenly Court is like the Greek gods in God of War. Wukong is a Kratos that failed at killing and wiping out the entire cast of hypocritical and cruel gods.
Unfortunately Buddha is too powerful for Wukong. I wonder if Kratos can help with that.

Agreed.A fun fact, the way Bahje tried to forsake his daughter in order to protect her from being harmed by the Celestial court had a lot of similarities to the way Kratos had to abandoned her daughter Calliope in the Elysium fields to prevent her from being destroyed by the goddess Persephone in the Gow,chains of olympus. They both had the same expression, miserable but still determined to walk away to protect their love one despite the fact they will never had the chance to see them again.

Old Tru wanted her to forget him, there was only pain with him.
She hopes he won't forget her, because without him she only feels miserable
When translating, there are many interesting things that have to be changed to make the meaning easier to understand.
Translated directly, if you listen to it, you don't understand it, not knowing the meaning.😢
Dam Hoa here is from the phrase "Dam Hoa Nhat Ema", which refers to Vi Da (Hoa Quynh blooms only because of Vi Da).
The Dam Hoa in that sentence only blooms because of Vi Da, but the comparison here is:
The story tells that Dam Hoa was originally just a small, very ordinary and weak flower.
(This sentence is from Du Phu's poem)
There are a lot of hidden meanings, Chinese music is often mixed, but just translating without understanding the meaning won't reveal everything :(

The end of this chapter is so sad and so beautiful at the same time.
Thus, he said "in next life please forget about me"
Thus, she said "in next life please remember me"
Bajie had to leave the Spider Spirit to protect her, in order to avoid being hunted down by the Heavenly Court. It's too heartbreaking.

"Hurry up and find out what Marshal Tianpeng(Bajie) turned into when he was demoted to the mortal world."
"I found out. He turned into a(zhi) pig(zhu)."
"Okay, then I'll turn into a spider(zhi zhu) too."
In fact, almost all the song lyrics in this game and many of the boss's words were written by the controversial CEO Feng Ji. He is truly a genius😂
Here is the complete story for those who want:
Bajie was actually a high rank marshal in heaven and the young girl whom he collided was the previous form of violet spider (a normal fairy in heaven) she fell in love with the marshal at first sight. Soon Bajie was punished by Jade Emperor and sent to earth as a pig for running after and chasing his love the moon lady. The young fairy inquired in the heaven and by mistake she heard the term spider, since pig and spider have the same pronounciation in chinese so she became a spider in order to meet the marshal (now bajie) and by happenstance one day she was bathing in a pond where bajie met her
In the last cutscene video after Zhu bajie falls from heaven and wakes up the girl he saw was her first wife named cuilan.
That is why you hear violet spider saying "You haven't changed a bit, you fool..."
In fact this story in China has a moral significance.
She has the relic" (otherwise she would be killed by the centipede)
However bajie did visited her grave in the meantime and he used a special preservation orb to preserve her corpse from rotting and keep it fresh for lifelong as a last token of love towards her which can be even found in the game but be sure not to take it, or you will be filled with guilt.
“Hi what happened to Bajie, havent seen him for awhile”
“He was punished to the earthy world as zhi zhu(a pig)”
“oh,as a zhi zhu (spider)ok,i will follow him”
This segment of the story depicts Tianpeng's admiration for the Taiyin Star Lord (not Chang'e).
"你知道天蓬转世成什么了吗?” (“Do you know what Tianpeng was reincarnated as?”)
“你说天蓬啊,他转世成了只猪。” (“You mean Tianpeng? He was reincarnated as a pig.”)
“蜘蛛啊,那我也要变成蜘蛛。” (“A spider? Then I also want to become a spider.”)
Despite never having misheard anything before, she became "deaf" at the moment she decided to descend to the mortal realm, as if fate had already written a script where they were destined to be star-crossed lovers.
