I worked at Best Buy in Florence KY, Chad Johnson used to come in every once in a while. The fist time I met him he was in his second year and hadn’t become a superstar yet! I was chatting with him as he was picking up a stand for his stereo. A guy and his baby daughter were walking by and Chad saw that he was wearing an old 80’s “Welcome to the Jungle” Bengals sweatshirt! He excused himself, went over to the guy and said, “How are you sir? I just wanted to come over and say thank you for supporting the team, and I promise with all of the new guys and coach Lewis we are working really hard to make the team something you can be truly proud to support! I’m sorry we let you guys down last week but we are going to turn it around.” The guy realized who he was thanked him, asked if he would sign a ball in his car and took pictures with him and his daughter including holding his daughter! This is the type of person he always was even as his star started to rise! He’s humble, appreciative and kind to everyone I saw him meet! He’s a wonderful person!

That’s part of his legacy though. A lot of his best highlights are six yard gains, but he juked and broke tackles starting 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I couldn't agree more...I've argued with a couple friends because they say Tyreek hill is the most exciting ever but I nicely remind them that they're out of their damn mind and they either don't remember just how good/entertaining Barry was to watch or they simply just didn't have the opportunity to watch him much...don't get me wrong I'm not even a chiefs fan and I love watching machines and hill play but Barry is Barry and they'll never be another one like him

I spent 15 years working for Southwest Airlines as a flight attendant. I got to meet Brian Urlacher, Bo Jackson, Malcom Smith, Marshawn Lynch, and Jerry Rice. They were all down to earth and just really appreciated the fans who supported them. I now do part time firefighting and collect cards. I've been collecting since I was 9, I'm now 50 and still building my collection. My all time favorite card I have in my PC is the Topps 1955 card #68 The Four Horsemen. I have three athlete meetings of interest to mention. My favorite meeting will always be Dale Murphy (Braves legend who should be in the Hall of Fame). Met him at games a few times with my family and he is always polite and welcoming.
Also met a couple WWF wrestling legends. Bret the Hitman Hart is one of the nicest pros I’ve met. He stood outside, in snow, for almost 10 minutes after an event and talked with my brothers and I.
Also, Shawn Michaels. My little brother went up to him and said, “Mr. Michaels can I have your autograph?” He said, “Sure, but just call me Shawn, not Mr. Michaels.” He said it with a smile and signed and talked with us. Great times.

Prince was bigger then his own Dad,after leaving my Dad a I both looked at each other and said “can you believe how Prince is compared to his Dad at only 12 years old” at the exact time while gettin in the Truck. That’s what got use hooked on collecting sports cards. My Dad was the foreman on the ppl mover back then so he knew the Detroit area really well, every weekend we would look at the back of the Becketts to see where the Card shows were at. I remember seeing in the Becketts every month and seeing that Mickey Mantle’s rc was only $5000.00 dollars,Thank God my Dad bought one graded at a PSA 9 !! He passed away shortly after in 1993,so in honor of my Dad I keep collecting Cards. I’m Seriously thinking about flying to an Auction to sell that Mantle that’s been sitting in my safe since then. My dad, no stranger to fights, asked Mantle, "tou got in a fight eh?" and Mickey tells my dad how he was at a bar in Portland and someone approached him and asked if he was Mickey Mantle. When he said he was, the guy punched Mickey and then Mantle told my dad how he started kicking the guy's ass. Security tried to rush us through, I dropped a couple cased cards, and Mantle sees it and looks at me and says, "hey kid, you dropped your cards. " as I locked them up shocked he was talking to me, I was 8, he says, "let me see those" and signs all our cards and photos. The guy was a badass it was an amazing day with my dad, Mantle loved my old man lol.

Here's the thing, opening a box like this is fun, no doubt, and Jeff has a fortune so he can do it and it won't hurt his pocketbook what-so-ever. However, for the average person, there is an alternative that can get you high grade cards for way less. Search around, shows, shops, different marketplaces, and find several sets. Chances are you will eventually fine on that has a really nice Marino or Elway, or both. I just bought a set for $150 with a Elway that looks amazing, a Marino that is probably an 8-9, and the rest of the set was very nice. The set was collated back in the 80's and had been in storage since. Sets like that are out there, the hunt to find good deals on gem RCs in sets is fun, and you will often get them cheaper that way and can grade if you want. And you can pass on the ones that aren't nice.

Favorite athlete was Bill Romanoski. Was at the World Mountain bike Championship in 2001. I was watching the downhill mens finals with my dad and good friend on a very steep section at the finish line. My pops had left for a minute and comes walking up later saying " you wouldn't guess who I just meet ? your favorite athlete ." I yell Bill Romanoski and he says yes and points down the mountain to the stands at the bottom. I see a huge human sitting there and start to beeline down the mountain. Not more then a few feet I trip over something in the excitement and tumble head over heel down to the bottom in front of thousands. You hear a OOOH go over the crowd and I pop back up and still beeline for Bill. I get there and say Bill I had to meet you. First words that come out of his mouth is " nice Digger kid" we both laugh and I shake his massive hand compared to mine. Then he goes on to ask me if I know what is going on here . I sit down and explain what the downhill race is all about and who's the best for about 15 min. Lucky I was wearing a bronco hoodie at the time and had him sign it. He Gave a kid a dream that day and it was amazing to me.

He is my favorite football player of all time and my sons name is Derrick. I also have a Chiefs tattoo with the number 58 in the arrowhead!

When I was stationed at Ft Lewis, WA in the Army, I recognized Jon Kitna at an Elmer's restaurant and he talked to me and my daughter for a good 10 minutes while I was in uniform. He ended up telline thank you for your service and I asked the waitress for my bill and she replied with the guy you were talking to paid your bill. So Kitna bought me and my daughter breakfast. Pretty cool memory.

Friendly suggestion, make a slit or cut the corners of your penny sleeves so the corners don't get dinged when you put them into the sleeves

Just wanna say..I seen you struggling to put that first card on the sleeve... here's a trick I use.. pinch the top open corner and just give it a roll... it'll leave an opening so you don't damage the corners or shred the edges...btw my favorite player growing up was Bo.. still is
