Who is “they” I know people who buy crossfire who have no license. Crossfire isn’t restricted use. Only restricted use pesticides are sold to licensed professionals. Where did you get your training? I’ve been in pest control for over 36 years and licensed for over 25
More than once, I have seen DE used in barrier form in a crib or playpen. The things people do with this stuff because it's "natural" or "safe" amazes me. And as a PCP, I find myself having to convince them it's a dangerous idea. You know....because "they heard" from someone. Glad to see you address this on your platform where many will see it. 👍
I have used it outside with excellent results. Takes awhile to work but it works on ground nest type termites I think they were. I would not use it on my beds and carpet. Great Video.
I would use a wet cloth to clean up any DE and dispose of it immediately. Most vacuum cleaners will not filter out the fine dust and will put it right back in the air. Many vacuum cleaners have "HEPA" type filters which are not real HEPA filters, further they are not sealed unites and air leaks around the filter.
Hey Jason, while shopping for crossfire i noticed they sell an aerosol version which seems more convenient than the concentrate. I was wondering if you have any thoughts on this product. Thank you.
I'm in Canada too. I ordered it through a mail-forwarding address. The one I use is called Shipitto. You just have to create an account online on their website, and it gives you a US address. When your package arrives at their warehouse, they will forward it to your Canadian one.
@Deliiciioso but does it pass customs, though? As far as I know it's not legal in Canada so I'm really hesitant to do that and end up losing money on ordering through such services if it gets confiscated..
hey mr green akers im dealing with an issue where my grandmother has an infestation she cannot afford to stay elsewhere and she cannot afford pest control,i bought crossfire after watching your videos, shes has copd is there anyway to treat with crossfire without her leaving the home or what suggestions do you have i understand the treatment method and where to spray but my question is the safety of living in the home with the spray and how long we have to stay out of the house after application, your answer to these questions would be greatly appreciated
I have probs with spider mikes in my bushes on the front porch and by garage, and sprinkle around perimeter outside of house. Was going to get a sprayer and coat them with DE, with mask on. Is that too dangerous?
Love this video! This stuff needs taken off the shelf for safety reasons because almost anyone that buys it is misusing it. I’m in this field myself and I’m tired of walking into a winter wonder land because people just open the bag and dump it all over the house.
Good information! This is a really good example of how people really need to do some homework before using ANY product, even those that are marketed as natural and 'safe'. It's only safe if it's used properly. "Safe" doesn't mean overuse is OK or applying it in the wrong way (placing product in the wrong places). So many people purchase pesticides, including organic or natural ones, and use them in an unsafe way because how many people actually read and abide by the product's application instructions? Not many, unless you've taken your pesticide applicator's licence, or at least that's how it seems to me. Nature has made some pretty toxic stuff, so 'natural' doesn't mean not dangerous! Be sure to do your homework/research before using any pesticide - even the 'safe' ones. A product is only safe if you use it as per the application instructions. And don't forget to use proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as prescribed in the pesticide application instructions.
I wish I could hire this guy. Unfortunately, I live in Canada. Had the little buggers in 2017 in 2024 we have them again. At least we don't have to pay for treatment as we live in an apartment and it is taken care of. I was proponent of DE but after seeing this video, I changed my stance. The biggest pain of having bed bugs is the preparation of the dwelling for the professional to come and spray. The washing of clothes, the moving of furniture, the storing of knickknacks. It becomes so overwhelming I also have a beef about all the so called products out there that claim to be bed bug sprays. Yeah, we bought raid, what a joke. I read the scent of lemongrass scent repels them, I sprayed the bedroom; it was like ringing the dinner bell for the bastards. I tell you, if someone comes up with a non toxic spray that one can buy at any hardware store that actually works, they are going to make a fortune.
@@GreenAkersPC thanks for your reply. I live in a mobile home with small yard and a mobile home right next to mine. Do you think the DE Earth will affect us when we are chilling outside?
Its an outside thing only in my household. Its great for killing pests in my aviary but it is not good for inside use! When i use it on the aviary i wear a face mask and i carefully paint it into cracks on any wooden surface. Personally i think its buck wild other pigeon keepers bath their birds in it! Birds have very delicate lungs and you know they're breathing it in when they dunk them in it!
DE is supposed to be for garden use. I tried DE for bed bugs once. It did work but it didn't solve the problem. Gonna try this crossfire stuff. Thank you for what you do buddy.
I was about to buy DE because I'm tired of spiders in my walkout basement. Don't know where they are coming from! But we have cats and I'm too scared to use it. I'm contemplating using it outside near our doors but I still worry it'd get tracked inside and then we're breathing it... I thought about putting it between the carpet and baseboard where there's a small gap (can't have it caulked or put quarter round because of the carpet...sigh) but I also don't trust myself to get it in there without breathing it!
Breathing in sand can absolutely kill you lol this happens in sand storms all the time but most sand at the beach is too heavy and not in the form of dust
But what if it’s a TN roach that hitched a ride in a cardboard box and landed in NC? 🤣 Seriously didn’t know about the dangers of diatomaceous earth food grade. I have lung disease so it would have been a disaster for me. Thank you so much.
I found your videos on DE, 2 weeks too late. I already applied DE indoor because of a flea/bug infestation in my brother’s house. It will be very difficult trying to get rid of the DE now🥲😭,and I have asthma that can be triggered easily😫
They won’t sell Crossfire to anyone else but pest control companies….so people have a monopoly over us, where did you get your training from?

I'll address that stuff‼️ IT CREATED A NIGHTMARE at my HOUSE 🏠. They did exactly as he said, went EVERYWHERE 🤦♀️. I'd rather use NOTHING.

Typically the aerosols, while they are more convenient, don’t last as long as pesticides you mix yourself
Ok. Thanks for the response.
@GreenAkersPC what would u recommend for roaches if I will be away for 2 weeks?
And I'm in va lol ❤❤❤
Hi, there. Is it ok for outside around the perimeter of the house use?
Yes, absolutely
im in canada i dont have acess to anything but DE
That’s a shame
Same in England. The pest controllers here use Dimatious Earth.

I’m pregnant and was thinking about treating our windows with DE until now!
Thank you again

De won’t work on spiders at all
Great info, any solutions for roaches?

All good information. Diatomaceous earth is mostly silica. Thank you Mr. Green Akers.
Thanks for this. I’ve only ever used it outside but this is great info.

Great video and very informative! I put it all over my yard how do I remove? 😢
It shouldn’t hurt the yard
@@GreenAkersPC thanks for your reply. I live in a mobile home with small yard and a mobile home right next to mine. Do you think the DE Earth will affect us when we are chilling outside?
No it’s when you’re confined with it in doors when it’s harmful.
So it doesnt work on cockroaches?
Nope

I just made a paste with water and DE and covered myself in it for scabies
😳
Scabies is a medical issue and I only take medical advice from a professional physician

@kelvingutierrez4198 that's most likely because of the salt in the water than sand in the air.
