As a long-time EVE industrialist, I love seeing these kinds of videos on the principles to teach new players (or at least those new to this activity type).
I'm a new player and while I found this video useful I wish someone would do a newbie industry video as a "newbie". Newbies don't have 200 million isks to buy a BPC. I think a more realistic newbie starting experience would be helpful.
Agreed. Most new players that want to get into this don't have the capital or the skills to go "balls deep"! What's wrong with a "depending on what kind of industry you want to work then these are the skills you need"? Look out for these stations that have these features, here's how to look for them. If you want to do research you need these items, you can get them from here or here or there. This was more of a new guide to becoming an industry mogul...not a new player guide.
BPCs dont cost 200 million. Closer to 200 thousand. You're over by a factor of 1000. A Nyx supercarrier BPC costs 50 million. You're not going to be doing that as a newbie. So even if you're taking literally the most expensive BPC on the market, you're still overstating the cost by 300 percent.
Ah I miss Eve but can't assed sinking the time into the game. Caught and killed carrier who cynoed to a planet once. He drops a can with about 2 billion worth of capital BPOs. Ah the memories.
I can make 200million isk mining ice in a day. seems like industry would take forever to make a decent profit if 1 ship is only 4million profit. I don’t see the benefit in industry if you don’t mine your own ores to increase profits substantially.
What the other guy said, it's passive income once you're set up kind of like PI where it takes a bit to get started but once it's set up you spend a few minutes a day and basically just print money.
The problem I have with industry is that it is so hard to find products that idiots are not selling for less than the mineral cost to MFG because of all the "the minerals I mine are free" idiots. I am recently returning to the game and I left HS for a reason I was way more happy in WH space manufacturing for my corp, there where a few of us that kept the market stocked with the basics and if people wanted stuff they just asked if we had or could get the BPs and how much. It was nice not having to worry about being undercut by some idiot manufacturing at a loss. My recommendation is to anyone wanting to get into industry find a corp outside HS that wants to create or expand an MFG base you have less say in what you make because you will likely be MFG to a fleet doctrine or to what people in your corp want to fly but you won't have to pull your hair out trying to find things that you can make at a profit.
That's easy. If that item has a T2 version, you get to buy their finished T1 version for less than it costs to build from scratch and then turn it into a T2 item, where this issue doesn't really exist.
@@danschmidt6206 I don't know if you didn't communicate this well or if I'm just dumb and not understanding but you can't turn tech 1 items into tech 2/3 items, that's not how it works at all. You make t2 BPCs using t1 BPCs but that's a completely different thing. I will agree you are right though that t2/t3 production is where the money is because the idiots don't have the skills needed to do it. In the T1 market it is very hard to turn a profit because idiots are selling for under the material cost, you can find niche markets though away from the trade hubs and turn good profits selling near PvP hotspots and at mission hubs for example.
Ive been playing eve on and off since 2010 and not done much with industry, theres so much to learn without having reliable friends who can advise me on anything, Do you mine for materials or do you do Buy orders? Is it worth buying Structures to do things? I have decent ISK and want to expand my experience in the Industry side, I use to have POS in low sec doing reactions, visiting them every 2-3 days and jumping them to jita, I loved it, but now reactions have changed im not sure what I can and cant do :( id love to make decent isk again but when its 2m per ship I can easily go do incursions that suck the life out of EVE when your sitting there for 5-6 hours a day makes industry not worth the TIME, where am i going wrong :D
Hey Christian, yes I kind of added the cost of the BPC at the end when im going through prices/costs that need to be taken into account. Regards to tax reduction ,trading skills and faction standings help reduce these.
@@jackiemaitai1857 The main issue with that is hauling. Hauling takes time, adds risk and can result in huge loses. Yes in Jita you make less but much less risk as well.
I didn’t even realise you could add folders/categories to your item hangar to organise your items. Can/did you set meta rules so that the items drop into the correct folder/category automatically when you drop them into item storage or do you manually sort them each time you add new items
They aren't folders, they're filters on what is visible, so they act exactly like you're thinking about. You set a rule for the filter like "Items that are a blueprint, but not a copy" and give it a name like "Blueprint Originals". Then when you click on that filter, you only see the items that match your rule.

Great video as always good work, maybe i will say this video is a little be late you should start with that, and wonderful news we will be able to speak with you :)
o/ I'd love to get a similar video on Reactions done! I've been wanting to get started on that, but not sure how to start. Not building T2/T3 items but moreso materials/drugs. Thanks!
It works the same, you need a formula for reactions , then your results will be use in the booster pbc. FYI , at small scale , boosters production is not really worthy, but fun.

Welcome aboard! Hope they have been helpful. Eves a great game but it does take a lot of learning the basics for sure.

Industry can be fun, if you make some ISK. But if there are too many selling the same item, it can be frustrating.

Do wormhole / low sec gas huffing, 400m in a few hours if you've got a corp that's good on scanning

2 year old video for me, but when I check the market, the minerals cost way more than the sell proce and this is with mostly 4/5s.

Set up your buy orders in Perimeter with a 1 jump range- only 1% broker fee instead of 3-5, typically the will get filled in Jita anyway
