I agree, we didn't understand how close the peddles could actually be and still provide force due to the boat moving forward constantly. We have been going back and forth about whether the current setup would be strong enough to add an extra four paddles come spring.

I don't do power equipment much anymore but my friends channel the disciples workshop does he's one who I partnered with on this build for the motor part while I did design.
More buckets (8 for instance)on the wheel would help transfer power to the water better for sure.
