Yessssssss you are so on my wavelength I literally have transitioned from doing several of your breathwork videos a day with deep breathing and breath holds to the buyteko methods and that patrick McKeown interview was confirmation!
You're so welcome!
Hi patric just thought id mention that ive been doing a very basic version of wim hof for about four years now that is first thing in the morning on wakeing that is 40x5 breaths then around 70 push ups with no breath then a cold shower or dip into cold water then back to bed for a strong coffee then on to my left side for some nostral breathing which at this point i feel peacefull and relaxed the breaths come in to me fully and without effort. This also i feel is giveing me an extra focus when i have to drive far to work. It has also been noted that i seem to have super powers over my fellow colleagues who are younger than me. Iam doing no other forms of exercise yet i seem to be able to adapt to all sorts of pyhisical abuse (i dont use the word lightly) as iam a bulding site worker...
I have done Wim Hof breathing method for few weeks and enjoyed it a lot but seems like it gave me a tinnitus. Stopped it and switched to Buteyko breathing method without hyperventilation. Probably will try Wim Hof again but it seems like some people get tinnitus from doing it. Most people are fine and get lots of benefits from Wim Hof method
I ❤❤❤ what you're doing? Open our minds to ideas of health not tethered to western medicine, hospitals Drs pills, oh my. Thank you
Thanks Debra
@@TAKEADEEPBREATH 😊😊😊
This is what I’ve been looking for, thanks! The explanation of the science in terms of the chemistry of what’s happening during breathing exercises. This is fascinating!!
Such a humble person and human, 🎩 off
Very interesting. Loved the clear explanation. Enlightening and informative...off to do me breathing exercise. Thank you🙏🙏🙏
With the Wim Hof method, the blood pH increases and not decreases, right?
Glad you enjoyed it!
Im glad that you are sharing this information to us. I love your channel!
Thank you
Just do both 🤷🏽♂️
🙏
Thanks for the contribution! Just read your book, mind changing
I do both it's better.
Nose in nose out and hold breathe take cold showers.
Hello,
I need some advice please.
I am a paraplegic and due to a pressure sore on my one bum cheek, that became septic I had major surgery and 45 days ago it looked like Freddy Kruger got hold of my bum.
I have been doing Wim Hoff Breathing the first few weeks, along with many other "things" (meditation, cell regeneration frequencies, special supplements and vitamins etc etc) and my wound which was extensive, the size of a womans hand basically, and 1cm to 3cm deap. I managed somehow to grow most of the flesh back in those first few weeks and then my progress stopped for a number of reasons...I think.
MY QUESTIONS IS, what breathing techniques or exercises must I do to have this wound close up as fast as possible?
Just on a side note. I realized today after waking up that I now believe the Wim Hoff Breathing managed my pain. As I bragged about not even taking pain meds at the start when I was still doing the breathing. Then in the last 3 weeks I did not do the breathing and my pain shot through the roof. Mind numbing, excruciating neoropathic pain, which is something i suffered anyway even before my surgery. But now the pain has quadrupled.
QUESTION - Any ideas on how to manage the pain other than the Wim Hoff method?
Update?
Oxygen Advantage is for 98% of the day for 2% of the day Wim Hof is nice
I think this is a good way to do both.
@@manjitrupbikram that Wim hof overbreathing part is certainly not for me. I do not think that part is for everyone
With the Wim Hoff breathing technique, many breath through the mouth during the reps. Having heard you speak about breathing through the nose, is it better to breath in through the nose and out through the mouth (regardless of the exercise)?
Nose breathing. Filtered warm air. Nitric oxcide. Less dehydration. Calming.
I'm trying wimhoff one it's 4 rth day
Been doing Wim's breathing 1 yr, everyday, at least once a day. Best free medicine I know about. I try and spread the word,
Been doing WHM since June 2017. This works for me.
Been doing both. Shifting to OA as the relaxation is durable. Did not have this with Wim Hoff.
Interesting, honest, fair opinion on WHM from the "OA point of view". Thank you Patrick!
Both
Simply tell which one is better for sleep. I am insomnia patient for years.
In short it's good right?
In short both good in their own ways, but before you do the deep breathing, its good to get your functional nasal breathing right
Oxigen advantage is the best
can you use both and get benifits
Best way is to join both
Would love to go to an oxygen advantage workshop. I’m currently reading the book its a LOT to take in. Hoping there is a training plan towards the end. which exercises to do and how often. If not I may have to pay Patrick for a 1-1 and get a plan organised. One of my main goals over the next 5 years is to get to a 40 sec BOLT Score

Try this exercise if you would like to improve your bolt score..
Are cold showers good for asthma?
This is so complicated... Is wim hof breathing bad for you?
Not much of a Wim Hof comparison I feel like Patricks information is good but much more clinical and slightly desperate, Wim Hof is more engaging and connected for me, and allows more for the placebo and the psychology to play a part as well as living life more connected with nature and its power to oxygenate
You have a strong Irish accent
Stop trying to compete with Wim....his method is better.
Better for what? I have been doing Wim Hof breathing method for a little while and I can hold my breath for the whole 2 mins, but normally I can't so it isn't helping me in building co2 tolerance not to say it isn't doing something as it is a shock and stress to the system so it can work as hormetic, but it seems that the purpose of the oxygen advantage is different. If you look at freediver breath training they advise against hyperventilating prior to breath holds. Like everything why say one is better it all depends on what you are trying to achieve. You can do both, just be aware of exactly what you are doing, why, and what is happening and whether what is happening is good for your goal or not.
@Ruuki Bane
It's actually the same. I prefer Patrick's because he breathes through his nose not his mouth. That's why I just can't do it. I still take cold showers etc but the mouth thing. N.O.
Not for everyone. WIM breathing I'm anxious, but cold shower works. Oxygen advantage I am calm as a rock.
@@MB19ap Well said.,you seem to have a good understanding and respect of both methods. Both Wim & Patrick are great men and we are all enlightened by their teachings.
@@MB19ap very right
