  • Suzuki Ignis review - The Ignis is a city car that comes with an added dose of crossover. Not only does it look the part, but this little car is extremely spacious, comes with plenty of tech and won't cost you a fortune! Thanks for watching, please remember to like comment and subscribe!

    you may have mentioned it, but the big USP in the Ignis is how light it is! under 900kg, which then feeds into performance and economy

    I have the sz5 version and absolutely love it, handles like a little go kart. One of if not the best small car I’ve ever owned.

      Hi I was just wondering if you had any more thoughts after a year of ownership. I'm really tempted with this little car and I'm not usually interested in this segment

    I think Suzuki cars represent the best value for money in the UK market. When you consider that they always top reliability surveys, are very safe, loaded with kit and well made for the price you pay. When I change my car it will be a Suzuki. No other make comes close overall.

    Cheeky little motor with tons of character- love it! Will be interesting to see what changes have been made for the new updated version. Thanks for the review.

      Did you found out about the changes? I can't seem to find any information although I see dealerships are starting to offer "NEW" Ignis models but they seem the same as this one.

      @@vito6397 Yes, I just bought the brand new model here in Spain last week. The front grill is redesigned with better LED's I think, front and rear bumpers new, the mild Hybrid battery is improved and comes with a 10ah lithium ion battery for the hybrid system instead of a 3ah battery which was available on the pre-facelift model. Think these are the biggest changes but don't quote me on that. The interior/trim may have a few small tweaks too and perhaps some additional options available. Surprised at the lack of UK reviews for the new Ignis. It's a fantastic car and I replaced my 1st gen Volkswagen Up! with it and I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a deal you can probably save a few thousand going for the older model but in my opinion, the new version looks much better (in addition to other changes mentioned previously). Just type new Suzuki Ignis 2021 into the search box above loads of reviews form Italy, Spain and India on the newer version (it's called Maruti Ignis in India).

    Definitely a unique design, not for me but I like the skinny tyres. As you said probably best for town goers who just want to get from a to b.

    Great video - Looking for something cheap to run but reliable and safe for my elderly parents. It has to be easy to get in and out of so higher seating position is an advantage. My mum test drove the Ltd Model available here in NZ today - all the toys 1.2 with CVT but no auto braking system. The ride is a bit hard in the back seats but the front seats are softer sprung and you can feel them give when going over the bigger bumps. CVT kept the revs very low most of the time. Steering is quite pointy and direct compared to her old car. Looks like a perfect car for those not venturing too far from home. The only way to get a hybrid version in NZ is to get a secondhand Japanese import. Thanks for the Vid

      I cant remember to be honest! It looks like you can buy a spare wheel kit for the Ignis on Amazon though. Might be worth a look if you want one.

    I'm in the market for my first new car and I'm rattling my head around Suzuki Ignis, Swift or Peugeot 208. I want a small and affordable car to get me around the city and the occasional highway. Ignis is cheapest of the 3 but I quite like the cute small SUV design of it (especially in all black), I don't like how the Swift looks in the back but it's a bit more sporty, I like how the 208 looks but I think the interior is over-technical and I don't really trust peugeot for reliability - would prefer a japanese car. I don't really want or need a fast car but I do want to be able to overtake slow vehicles easily (something my 70 horsepower gold 4 2002 can't really manage). Got any recommendations and advice?

    • @BleeCarswell
      @BleeCarswell  3 роки тому +1

      Hey mate always tricky to recommend stuff via the internet but i'll give it a go! Out of the three my pick would be the 208, but that would be ignoring any budget. The reason i'd go for it is because it feels the most grown up of the three and felt like a car from the class above when I drove it.
      The Ignis on the other hand would be cheaper, but it does feel it compared to the 208. I know you mentioned you dont like how the Swift looks, but it might be the best of both worlds!
      I would imagine its the same situation on the power front too. Whilst the Ignis wont set the world on fire it is usable. You can get the 208 with a rather punchy petrol engine, and obviously the Swift comes in Sport form if thats what you're after. I assume you can get the Swift with slightly less powerful non sport model, which might be the one to go for.
      If I were you I'd be tempted to go to a Suzuki dealer to compare an Ignis and Swift. I have a feeling the Ignis might be a tad slow, but i'd be interested to hear what you think.
      TLDR: Ignis is not that quick, 208 is pricey but I liked it, Swift might be the best compromise. Sorry if thats not much help!

    • @vito6397
      @vito6397 3 роки тому

      @@BleeCarswell Thank you a lot for your info, it's a ton of help!
      I got to agree about the 208 being simply better - even if it's a bit more expensive (but still inside my price range). I'm mainly just worrier about the "brand" and lean towards Japanese cars because everyone says they're super reliable, which is probably silly from me. The 208 will definitely be my top tip for a new car unless something unexpected comes up (like the new toyota yaris).
      That said, how do you feel about (slightly) used cars? Would you rather get (for the same price) a new 208 or a used Honda Civic 1.0 T Elegance from 2018 with 38k kilometers / 23k miles? I've also found a few 1-2 year old Mazda 3 and CX-3 with similar price tags.
