Theoretically the low armor works because of the APS actually working in real life, and this thing wouldn't be taking on MBT's with fast moving shells, it'll be going against infantry with RPG's and TOW missiles, which are much easier to intercept. They also won't have big enough rounds for their small arms (probably) to pen it anyway.

Yet they haven't fixed the missiles yet so I think waiting for them to fix them is going to be when they add them to the Puma.

But I just don’t understand the way they’ve handled the TT and variants involved. The best IFVs and light tanks belong to the paid premium trees, or squadron choices. That’s why they don’t care for the spikes if you ask me. They haven’t monetized them yet, like how they monetized on the move ATGM fire and support for the BMP-2M. Sure, can get it for free, but I’ve seen enough level 10 under in the BMP-2M. Recompression of mid tier, the complete fumble on most of the added tanks, and the lackluster crafting event have kinda killed my drive for now on the game.

they should change the AHEAD ammo to proxy he like the 2s38 has. that way it gives a similar effect to what it can do while making any vehicle that has it actually more viable. historical accuracy is only good when things actually work. otherwise just keep calling them AHEAD and just make em fucking work with whatever systems you have.
Tip for the Lynx and the Puma, peek enemies in reverse. Your tank is completely empty in the back and in case of the Puma, your gun is on top of that empty space, so your crew is unlikely to get knocked out.
I do the same thing with the VBCI, huge open space in the rear and I dunno why but it works better against enemies. I wonder if it's cause they think "premium player dumb" or something.

Classic hard kill systems like the Trophy, Iron Fist, KAPS or Akkor have their sensors and countermeasure (CM) launchers mounted separately. They defeat the threat at longer ranges since the CM launcher has to rotate and fire, but it means they also have a minimum engagement range. Systems like the StrikeShield, Trophy LV or the Ukrainian Zaslon work in a slightly different way - the countermeasures are stationary and often (but not always) come in modules, each consisting of the CM and its/their detectors. These systems are usually heavier than the "classic" ones, but have much shorter reaction times so they can intercept threats at much shorter ranges. The minimum range and a limited capability to engage more than two simultaneous threats from different directions is also a reason why classic systems should *not* be thought of as an alternative to ERA (which doesn't prevent Rafael from marketing the Trophy as such...). Distributed systems on the other hand could be used in that way, StrikeShield in particular could be considered "smart ERA" due to the way it's installed on vehicles. And just like the ERA, these systems also require some level of armor on the vehicle they're protecting, mainly because they intercept threats at such a short range that even comething like the fragmens of a destroyed RPG warhead could damage an un-armored vehicle.
If they modeled it in better and gave its rounds some decent spalling, and maybe 2 more spikes it would be cracked. The fact it’s own APS kills it is hilariously ridiculous, and 2 spikes don’t even guarantee a single kill, even in ideal conditions. The tank itself is a disappointment as it is right now, and honestly would rather they just gave the PUMA the spikes it rightfully deserves.

It was not able to stop a 3BM42. It was able to distrupt it/fragment the round, reducing its penetration by around 75%. Because this APS intercepts at such a short range, you still have high speed tungsten or uranium fragments flying into your armor.

Yes. thats the point. And also, of course, to allow them to be immune from RPGs/ATGMs intercepted by the APS, as it intercepts projectiles at a quite short range, leaving high speed fragments or close by detonations, which can still penetrate thin armor.

@@ryanberry_ honestly I’d prefer to see game play that is conducive to the claim being made. If the tank is actually so bad that In 30min to an hour of playing, the matches you ended up putting in the video were outliers compared to how it normally plays. I think seeing a match or two of its average game play would be nice to help back up the claim of the tank being really bad. It’s hard to take the opinion serious when every match shown, you almost get a nuke in one life.

However, I still just don't see the point in uploading trash gameplay of me getting 1 kill then getting one tapped from nowhere. Maybe in the future if I think a vehicle is bad, I'll make it very clear what aspects I believe make it bad in the intro overview. Then before the gameplay, give a caveat about "well, the gameplay may make you think otherwise, but I'm not gonna upload bad gameplay because it hurts my channel" It legitimately does hurt a channel to upload shitty gameplay because people click away earlier, which makes the video be recommended less.

It works as a top tier IFV, sure its missiles were made to be almost useless because they arent russian, and has a broken APS system because its not russian, and a broken AHEAD round because its not russian, but despite all that, it performs well.

Freccia also has a distance limiter - in the sense that it will fail to land the missile if your target is closer than ~200m. KF41? Same story. Also, it can fire any time. I point-blanked a HSTV-L right in the face and that worked just fine. Cannon is slow firing, but as with the Freccia, you need to know where to hit stuff. Outside of that, spikes are near useless on any map with plenty bushes and trees because IR won't lock if an enemy tank is somewhat covered up, so having 8 of them means dick. There's only been two matches where I wish the KF had more, but then again it does just fine with it's cannon. I also get more utility off it being tracked because it doesn't bog down on sand or mud nearly as much as the Freccia. I vote KF41 :P
@@gfimadcat That makes no sense honestly. The KF41 clearly has a distance limiter, and the Freccia doesn't, and i'm not crazy. You can try it anytime, and the missiles on the Freccia will work just fine at point blank while the KF41 struggles, having the launcher pointing upwards in an awkward angle. The cannon on the KF41 is only good at damaging, but slow fire rate is a struggle at top tier. It gives the enemy more time to react, and your penetration isn't enough to face everybody anyways. The Freccia can at least disable enemies much quickly than the KF41 without a doubt, it's a fact. Having 8 spikes matters compared to 2 spikes, and if we compare both cannons, i'm sure the KF41 clearly has a disadvantage, specially if you make both tanks face each other in a hypothetical scenario. The huge launcher on the KF41 works as an easy ammorack, exposing your whole vehicle a lot easier compared to the Freccia with a lower and thinner silhouette. Mobility wise, the Freccia doesn't have to face soft terrain often, it can easily avoid it with the momentum it gains overtime on high speeds, and if it does happen to get stuck, it's no sloth, easily getting away and no biggie, but that comes down to positioning, which depends on skill most of the times, since people know where you should and shouldn't go with certain tank. Overall, Freccia wins in the mobility department. Honestly, the KF41 is just worse, since it will lose on most of the aspects compared to the Freccia.

The APS is useless (actually broken), the spikes are 100% NOT free kills and usually don't work, it has much less utility than the Puma due to crewed turret. I think it should go down to 10.3 at least unless the APS and armor gets fixed (it should have more armor). I'm not crying about any vehicle, just giving a blunt review and my comments on it's competitiveness (seen in the vehicle overview segment)

I also disagree with that. Gaijin has shown that they are able to fix spawn camping. The maps have been like this for literal years with no changes. It's part of the strategy now.

I use the spikes on light armoured vehicles only or helis and everything else i use the cannon and aim for gun side of hull lower hull or rear on tank
you can see in the bottom left if you're scouted, there is a pair of binoculars if the circle around it turns white then you're scouted

@@ryanberry_ honestly I’d prefer to see game play that is conducive to the claim being made. If the tank is actually so bad that In 30min to an hour of playing, the matches you ended up putting in the video were outliers compared to how it normally plays. I think seeing a match or two of its average game play would be nice to help back up the claim of the tank being really bad. It’s hard to take the opinion serious when every match shown, you almost get a nuke in one life.
@@johnwick6088 To be fair, I also think about this. I don't just post the video and think nothing of the contrast between the message and gameplay. However, I still just don't see the point in uploading trash gameplay of me getting 1 kill then getting one tapped from nowhere.
Maybe in the future if I think a vehicle is bad, I'll make it very clear what aspects I believe make it bad in the intro overview. Then before the gameplay, give a caveat about "well, the gameplay may make you think otherwise, but I'm not gonna upload bad gameplay because it hurts my channel"
It legitimately does hurt a channel to upload shitty gameplay because people click away earlier, which makes the video be recommended less.

If this thing really is as bad as you say, picking the "best" match doesn't represent that claim very well, and a more balanced approach would work (i.e. a match where you got splatted because this vehicle is bad, a match that plays out sort-of-okay but shows the shortcomings, and then to counter that something like this god-tier match where it shows that in the right hands it doesn't honestly matter much if a tank is "bad" or not ;)

It works as a top tier IFV, sure its missiles were made to be almost useless because they arent russian, and has a broken APS system because its not russian, and a broken AHEAD round because its not russian, but despite all that, it performs well.

Freccia also has a distance limiter - in the sense that it will fail to land the missile if your target is closer than ~200m. KF41? Same story. Also, it can fire any time. I point-blanked a HSTV-L right in the face and that worked just fine.
Cannon is slow firing, but as with the Freccia, you need to know where to hit stuff.
Outside of that, spikes are near useless on any map with plenty bushes and trees because IR won't lock if an enemy tank is somewhat covered up, so having 8 of them means dick. There's only been two matches where I wish the KF had more, but then again it does just fine with it's cannon. I also get more utility off it being tracked because it doesn't bog down on sand or mud nearly as much as the Freccia.

The KF41 clearly has a distance limiter, and the Freccia doesn't, and i'm not crazy. You can try it anytime, and the missiles on the Freccia will work just fine at point blank while the KF41 struggles, having the launcher pointing upwards in an awkward angle.
The cannon on the KF41 is only good at damaging, but slow fire rate is a struggle at top tier. It gives the enemy more time to react, and your penetration isn't enough to face everybody anyways.
The Freccia can at least disable enemies much quickly than the KF41 without a doubt, it's a fact. Having 8 spikes matters compared to 2 spikes, and if we compare both cannons, i'm sure the KF41 clearly has a disadvantage, specially if you make both tanks face each other in a hypothetical scenario.
The huge launcher on the KF41 works as an easy ammorack, exposing your whole vehicle a lot easier compared to the Freccia with a lower and thinner silhouette.
Mobility wise, the Freccia doesn't have to face soft terrain often, it can easily avoid it with the momentum it gains overtime on high speeds, and if it does happen to get stuck, it's no sloth, easily getting away and no biggie, but that comes down to positioning, which depends on skill most of the times, since people know where you should and shouldn't go with certain tank.
Overall, Freccia wins in the mobility department.
Honestly, the KF41 is just worse, since it will lose on most of the aspects compared to the Freccia.

Its a good looking vehicle. About all it has going for it unfortunately. wasted months of my life grinding Italy and its a damn shame.

The APS is useless (actually broken), the spikes are 100% NOT free kills and usually don't work, it has much less utility than the Puma due to crewed turret. I think it should go down to 10.3 at least unless the APS and armor gets fixed (it should have more armor).
I'm not crying about any vehicle, just giving a blunt review and my comments on it's competitiveness (seen in the vehicle overview segment)

I also disagree with that. Gaijin has shown that they are able to fix spawn camping. The maps have been like this for literal years with no changes. It's part of the strategy now.
