People always leave them crazy low for some reason but you should/could easily figure the proper height on the first warm up with the bar. Okay I'm done complaining.

there's another pet peeve of gyms and that is people who doesn't re-rack weights on free weights. i've seen barbells with weights on them (but no people using it), dumbbells on the floor far away from their rack, and other equipments away from their usual place. I guess it's the neighborhood, tho. When I was using my college gym, it was so neat and organized, and equipment was rarely out of place.

Some people walk into the path of runners, on the indoor track, while staring down at their phones. "Oh, I'm sorry. I can't talk to people who are unplugged."

I track my reps on my phone app. You just need to expect people to act right, and there are gyms that prevent creeping by asking that women not work out in spandex with no underwear on or don't allow men period. you shouldn't be hyping yourself for a lift very often, but doing something like shaking the bar on the rack before your set ABSOLUTELY puts you in a mental place where you will be temporarily a bit stronger, in my experience anyway. there's no need to do it most of the time, or maybe even at all, as it's not really sustainable to be hyping yourself before every lift, but to say it literally does nothing is wrong - even if it's only on account of the placebo effect, which I'm not sure it is

I use my phone to track my heart rate, as my gym does myzone stuff and it keeps my friend and me motivated. I also use it to track my weights, reps, rest time, and time under tension. Girl in question should give that video to the gym and get that guy banned. People deserve the right to see their own form, which is why my gym has a "ask staff first before taking video/photos" policy.
