- Hello, in this video, I am going to show you how you could put up your posters without damaging the poster and the paint on your wall. You do not need poster tape, tacs, or nano tape.

I was confused at first, but I think I understand now.
1. Use washi tape facing down on the poster to serve as the base
2. Use double adhesive tape on top of the washi tape
3. Use masking tape on top of the double adhesive tape FACING UP

The posters you had that you layered on top of each other slightly, does the masking tape damage the front of the poster it is overlapping (on top of??)?
i know this is an old comment but someone else might use an answer: masking tape isnt touching the poster. washi tape is the last layer

it's been like 3 months since i did this and the washi tape stained my poster 😭 i would recommend if you don't mind that possibility and if you're willing to replace the double sided tape once in a while.. or get a really strong one from the beginning

is it okay if i use washi tape after putting the double sided tape?
If you don’t want to get your posters ruined, specifically the back of your poster, it would be nice to use washi tape first before applying double sided tape, however i do recommend not putting washi tape after u applied double sided tape because my poster fell :( I’ll make an update video of the posters that i hanged :D

wait so at the end do you put the washi tape upside down? so the washi tape sticks to the wall?
If left on doesn't it eventually dry up and disintegrate, but leaving a crusty film, then hard to remove from poster?
I don’t think so? I have a poster with washi tape for about 3-4 years now and I tried removing it from the poster and it didn’t do any damage and it was not hard to remove it at all. The washi tape still looks good but maybe if it was left for maybe 20 years then I guess it will disintegrate? But washi tape is easy to remove and the texture of the tape is better than ordinary paper, I just can’t imagine it to dry up. But if you’re asking about masking tape, to be honest I am not really sure about masking tape but they are practically the same in terms of how easy it is to pull them off from paper. Maybe it also depends on the quality of the poster. I think it’s better if the material of the poster is thick and glossy. Thin posters have a big tendency to be ripped off if you try to remove the tape but it’s safe as long as you remove the tape from the poster slowly and gently. Anyway,
Anyway, if you have poster tape in your country then just use that to be safe.
It could leave a sticky residue but it will be unnoticeable.
Masking tape definitely disintegrates! How quickly depends on the conditions in which it's used or stored. I've found the remnants of an OLD roll of masking tape that dried up. IDK how long it was stored away since I'd obviously forgotten about it. It just broke off in pieces when I tried to peel it off the roll. Fortunately, I'd used most of it, so not a lot was wasted.
