Nice. I'm an old man, and I've never understood people that can't cook. Cooking is just baseline functionality. "Prepare a meal" is down there with "tying your shoes" and "doing your own laundry" on the list of things I expect a functional 9yr-old to be capable of.
As a guy who can cook and clean, (among other things) I say everyone needs to learn this skill no matter who you are. Don't BS me about roles or rights, just know the basics.

My family was shocked when I brought my fiance home and I pulled him into the kitchen and we cooked together. I family is very... Traditional. So much so that when my grandmother was gone for a while my grandfather wasn't allowed up to the stove. He snuck and did it anyway. He taught me how to make the perfect fried egg. No one else would teach me to cook other than microwave oatmeal and rice. But there was Papaw. So when I came home with a man that could cook it really shook ppl. But I just wanted someone who could share in my childhood happiness of cooking in the kitchen together like me and my Papaw.❤❤❤❤❤
