This is another song where BTS took something they were made fun of (their various accents) and instead of ignoring it or changing their accents they wrote a song celebrating them. Jimin who is featured in the chorus for his strong Busan dialect was rumored to be picked on at his new HS for his dialect till Taehyung stepped in (I’ve seen it mentioned in many articles but not sure when it was first mentioned). I love this song and I’ve watched a few Korean reactions saying they really do talk in such thick accents in some parts of the song a person only form Seoul has a hard time understanding because of the Satoori. I love the flavor accents give voices and this song always reminds me of it. Also it’s a running Run BTS gag that JK loves to imitate Suga’s dads accent and talk in not his own Busan accent but the closely related Deagu one saying things I guess they’ve heard Suga’s dad say. Such a bop.
Yes people usec to point their heavy accents , jimin and jungkook took them long time to make it 100% Seoul accent as far as I remember

I was there in Korea 1997 when their economy went down..they call it IMF..we OFW( overseas foreign workers) were affected...the people bonded together and donate their golds to help korea to get back its feet..donate it tru their international monetary fund..lots of business were close that time and is our workplace..dt was a chaos time in korea about their financial status..but my God they made it!

What he said about regional hostility us also happening in my country Nigeria as Nigeria as 300 plus ethnic but 3 main provinces (hausa/fulani, igbo, yoruba) as the British taught it was a good idea to give hausa which were mostly uneducated high position and the others no matter how much they worked below them cause they new hausa were dependent on them and the others weren't.
And even though the British rule was over the two main provinces still don't like hausa with the stigma of them being lazy as they were more of farmers. Not to talk about them also having the biggest land and population which makes it difficult for any other province representative to win as they only vote for people in there province.
Which as caused genocide throughout the years especially last year.
