I feel that. He seems like he's finally got it figured out. Sucks it happened so late and because of so much turmoil because he could have been great...him and manning in AFC championships rather than Brady vs manning
I respect Ryan Leaf a lot more then in the past when he was a bad boy on the Chargers etc. He has really excelled and made his life and helped others with getting help they need with medical/health issues that can’t afford treatment
I stumbled upon Leaf on The Rich Eisen Show a few weeks ago and he promoted Bust. Really enjoyed it. Also have a new respect for Leaf. I have not heard or seen about him in a long time before the past few weeks. He carries himself very well and he is a good listen. Awesome to see how he has been able to turn his life around.
He hosts the Rich Eisen show when RE is off. This is where he would have been if could have had a normal University life away from the mad expectations of college football and the draft process.
Awesome to see that Ryan Leaf has turned this ship around. Seems like a great guy who just wasn't ready for the spotlight at the NFL level. Glad to hear he's speaking on campuses and sharing his story.
Some people can have the whole world in front of them And being spoiled like an athlete is It's amazing any of them actually grow up and become mature during an NFL career Glad ryan leads career is back on track
You can tell he works the 12 Steps very diligently. 19 months sober. I can relate to it all. Love Alcoholics Anonymous. It saved my life. Awesome interview!
One of the best interviews ever Ryan is a true inspiration to so many people he should feel pretty proud of himself bless the both of you for this interview.
I have to say, I’m from Great Falls, MT, I’ve met Ryan 3 or 4 times and I’ve never had a good experience with the guy. I spent hours with him at a book signing and it was miserable. With that being said, I appreciate his current outlook on things, and honestly I hope he comes back to MT and shows his community the new Ryan Leaf. He’s still kinda known as a joke around here, and although he needs nobodies acceptance or forgiveness, I feel like it would be good to see him do some good back home.
As a fellow montanan all I gotta say is you should know how hard it is to go back and face a community as small as great falls. Tho I agree the guy needs to come back to Montana and start talking to some of these kids who are struggling with drugs at a young age. He has a story worth sharing
Man people who haven't been to the Dakota's or Montana don't realize what kind of folks we are. 100% all in on everything good and unfortunately sometime the bad. Sports are a beautiful thing beyond winning and losing, but life is way bigger than a game. I'm happy to see Leaf turn it around and be able to share the story and hopefully help these next generations of kids be able to not succeed in sports but succeed in life. It is funny how we sometimes find out true calling and Ryan leaf truly had found it and will do so much more than he did playing ball. Truly truuuuuuly hope he can save some lives!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
What an amazing video. Thank you Pat and Ryan! Ryan, from South Dakota and I’ve never seen you as a bad person. I’m so happy to hear your voice and your struggles. This is my first year coaching football and your voice has built my confidence so thank you. Sincerely
Thank you Ryan and keep telling your story it helps more people than you know. Thank you Pat and the gang for having an open discussion and asking the perfect questions. One of my favourite interviews I've seen in a long time. Good luck to you both with the new opportunities and keep this up!
Such a small world, I was in HS and visited WT when Ryan Leaf was the QB and golf coach! I ended going there for college and this is the first time I learned why he wasn’t there when I attended! This is dope and hopefully I’ll meet Pat and Ryan one day!
So much respect for this, someone who's been elevated to a position and had to deal with the fall but is still standing after it all and is just transparent on it all.
I remember not liking Leaf too much when he came out of the draft. But I have respect for him now. He takes his responsibility for all of his past mistakes and that takes a lot. He seems to have come to terms with who he was and that is key.
Great guest. I was in the 11th grade during the 1998 NFL Draft and certainly remember his NFL story. I'm really happy to see how well he's doing and has really matured into a decent man.
Wow man...this dude is a redemption story just like Mike Tyson. Regardless of ya race and social status...everyone goes thru adversity and pitfalls. Its all about taking accountability and self reflection...this really help give me perspective on how a person can change with the willpower. Hope the best 4 his spirit and he feels better about himself
Ryan was the biggest draft bust in San Diego Charger history. Especially considering the Chargers traded up significantly to take him! As a fan it was hard to watch. It takes a big man, a brave man to acknowledge his mistakes. Good luck Ryan!
After your show today Pat I came to see this and wow. I am blown away by Mr. Leaf, you and the positive side of your message. This is good media my friends.
Watched leaf at W.S.U. lay waste to many teams also have heard stories of his extream arrogance of his youth. Having been a pill head myself and lucky to not have been sent to jail its AWESOME thst he is able to move on and move forward and become the man he is today. Keep it up ryan best of luck in everything. Excellent interview
I want to be a good dad.. God bless you Ryan leaf I can relate to your struggle and I appreciate everything you said it really hit me deep in my soul.. God bless
Good to see Ryan doing good for himself, whatever success or lack thereof he had in the NFL I think it was overshadowed for how the media portrayed him for that one incident where he yelled at a reporter. When kids fail in the NFL theres a lot that rest on their shoulders for not being able to produce at the level that people expect them to produce and theres little to be said about the context on where they're set to fail, I understand that everybody is their own man in the NFL and nobody has so "baby-sit" nobody but I always thought that besides Seau the Chargers had some real shitty vets, specially after watching some of the interactions Rodney Harrison had with Ryan; I don't think nobody genuinely cared about Ryan in order to show him the ropes and teach him what hes doing wrong or what he needs to do to be a pro, I dont believe he had a mentor and he had to figure out everything on his own. His story is really inspiring and I'm genuinely happy for him, I only expect him to keep doing great things.
I thought this was great! I'm not sure if he gave his life over to Jesus or not, but one of the best parts of this interview was Ryan saying that he didn't want to be remembered. I can tell you, as a Christian, that it is also my desire to not be remembered, but that people would know and remember Jesus.
Glad Ryan really turned his life around. Family man, and helping others with what he went through. My question for Ryan.. does he believe that his skill set (football) was he good enough if he would of stayed in the league. Say in Seattle and be successful?
Why was that a stupid question? "What do you want to be remembered for?" I mean he kinda already answered it if the guy was listening but Pat seemed to call him out harshly.
My mind is completely blowing I could hardly believe that this was Ryan Leaf that was talking but one point I would like to make maybe if you would have let you guys check Wikipedia your boy there would have saw that he was stealing pain pills from the kids he was coaching their at college LOL
Probably the most epic a$$hole ever in the NFL, ...BUT the guy was young and dumb, and like the rest of us, got humbled by life. I'm glad he's in a better place, but damn, he himself robbed us of the talent that we could have enjoyed on the field. Keep it up Ryan, you are a cautionary tale, but thats not a bad thing, since you got have gotten your sh!t together.
I respect the hell out of Ryan Leaf period. Great interview and got some insight to a man who I only remembered him for the bad shit
I feel that. He seems like he's finally got it figured out. Sucks it happened so late and because of so much turmoil because he could have been great...him and manning in AFC championships rather than Brady vs manning

He's incredibly likable. Wow. I have a new found respect for Ryan Leaf.
Couldn't agree more! Im glad I stumbled across this
Lows bring highs

Im sorry but leafs*
You can tell he works the 12 Steps very diligently. 19 months sober. I can relate to it all. Love Alcoholics Anonymous. It saved my life. Awesome interview!
From ‘bust’ to inspiration. Mad respect for turning your life around. Hope you’ve found peace
Going through something similar to Ryan, hats off to him! It takes a lot of courage! Keep doing well, tons of respect!
One of the best interviews ever Ryan is a true inspiration to so many people he should feel pretty proud of himself bless the both of you for this interview.
This is an AMAZING interview!!! Much respect for Ryan Leaf and bravo to Pat for having him on!

Fascinating to learn that Pat knew so little about who he is historically.
Makes me feel older than grandkids and heart attacks can.
I think he's playing the ignorant role to get more out of leaf
Thank you Ryan and keep telling your story it helps more people than you know. Thank you Pat and the gang for having an open discussion and asking the perfect questions. One of my favourite interviews I've seen in a long time. Good luck to you both with the new opportunities and keep this up!

Leaf's story is so fascinating I commend him for turning his life around
We’re proud of you Ryan. Thank you and keep up the good work!
So much respect for this, someone who's been elevated to a position and had to deal with the fall but is still standing after it all and is just transparent on it all.
Ryan Leaf, powerful speaker. You are going to help more people than you know man. Keep that influence up!
I remember not liking Leaf too much when he came out of the draft. But I have respect for him now. He takes his responsibility for all of his past mistakes and that takes a lot. He seems to have come to terms with who he was and that is key.

Incredible how far this show has come in 2 years
Amazing interview...cant wait to watch Ryan broadcast games
Glad to see he’s turned his life around. Great story.
Huge props Ryan. Can't wait to read a book about that story.
Much respect from this Chiefs fan.
This was a magnificent interview. I'm really happy to hear this man turn his life around when the whole world collapsed on top of him. Good for him
This interview is amazing.

Great Story. Helped lift me up today. Thanks guys 🙏🙏
Happy to hear Ryan leaf is doing well now all the best to u and ur family
Good job starting over Ryan, I’m glad you turned a new page with your arrest in May of 2020
Haha great falls is considered a city in Montana but would be a small town in any other state I live in a town of 300 in montana
I want to be a good dad.. God bless you Ryan leaf I can relate to your struggle and I appreciate everything you said it really hit me deep in my soul.. God bless
Great Freakin' interview! Everybody was great
This video is severely under watched. Great stuff.
Hell yea, dude. What a story.
What a guy
He made some bad choices when he was younger, but has clearly grown up since then, im happy that Ryan seems to have found a good place in his life
Is that Will “slap happy” Smith in the background?
the goat writing him in prison. what a guy

Ryan Leaf boosts Pats ego with 1 in 1,000 stat...
Pat receives call from Adam Vinatieri... 1 in 1,000 huh? That's cute...
I thought this was great! I'm not sure if he gave his life over to Jesus or not, but one of the best parts of this interview was Ryan saying that he didn't want to be remembered. We still love Ryan here on the Palouse. Go Cougs.
Glad Ryan really turned his life around. Family man, and helping others with what he went through. My question for Ryan.. does he believe that his skill set (football) was he good enough if he would of stayed in the league. Say in Seattle and be successful?
I may have been one of those guards watching him throw that day lol
Were you impressed?
Uniform of the day: Ball caps.
Good for you Ryan Leaf .. awesome to see you bounce back like a champ .. well done sir!
This is very powerful
This podcast is fuckin inspirational
He’s the real deal. You can’t fake that.
Good redemption story
Pat Mcaffe needs to KNOCK IT OFF!!!!!!!!
Great job Ryan
WAIT JOE MONTANA ISNT FROM MONTANA?😂
The first q&a guy called him Brian.
Why was that a stupid question? "What do you want to be remembered for?" I mean he kinda already answered it if the guy was listening but Pat seemed to call him out harshly.
See the Will Smith cutout? THAT didn't age well. He probably could take some of Ryan's advice.
My mind is completely blowing I could hardly believe that this was Ryan Leaf that was talking but one point I would like to make maybe if you would have let you guys check Wikipedia your boy there would have saw that he was stealing pain pills from the kids he was coaching their at college LOL
Seems like he has tried to turn around his life, but still has major self-esteem issues. He still has a long way to go on the path of realization.
Seems to me that Ryan should try wrestling.
Probably the most epic a$$hole ever in the NFL, ...BUT the guy was young and dumb, and like the rest of us, got humbled by life.
