Yeah, 2x the radius doesn't mean 2x the covered area, someone forgot what they learned in math class TwT It's really useful, I had about 6 or 8 scarecrows and when I unlocked the deluxe ones, I only needed 2 of those, it was amazing
Sadly, most of the 300k gold shortcuts are placed vastly beyond their real usefulness. "Yay I can get to the mines quicker!" uh... aren't you already using the minecart to do that? I think out of all the shortcuts, only the fishing spot one I really think is all that good, other than maybe the one near Leah's house. The rest are "eh" because they are in places I either almost never go, or I have quicker ways to get there. Some of these would have been *REALLY* useful early-game, though. EDIT: I will admit, though, I didn't know about the deluxe scarecrow. Huh. I think I'm only missing the casino coin one (which'll be the most annoying to get prolly), and the two you buy with gold AFAIK.. and maybe the fair one.
Even the fishing shortcut isn't that great because you can reach a zone 5 fishing spot from right outside the mines, just to the left by the little bridge. Just go on the little outcrop and throw straight south.
@@Dhalin Yes, it requires beets at one point. If you have a greenhouse, that's a good use for it so that you have enough beets. The start is to go left (west) along the road at the bus stop and going into the tunnel and finding the lock-box in the wall and "using" a battery pack on it to open it. I only had trouble with the final stage, since I didn't understand what yellow item was required (the hint is the sun).
Correction, the forage crates are levelled up by your foraging level, not your house. It may only seem that way because if you get the wood via chopping it you're getting loads of foraging levels just to upgrade your house, hence making your crates of higher value.
According to yourself, the upgrade for Pam's house is useless, but now we should apparently buy it so we can get shortcuts? Wow, you've lied to your fans again.
Deluxe covers 4x the area and the snowman rarecrow can be bought for 1k cheaper from the regular travelling cart Disclaimer: do not use a napalm ring if you have monsters on your farm. One day, you will forget to take it off at the end of the day...
5) Hops are an amazing catch-up crop. If you feel like you've fallen behind the power curve come Summer year 1, plant as many hops as you can stand to. The return-on-investment is nearly unrivaled. The main contender is Starfruit wine, which takes far more upfront investment of money and far more time for the return. It's also the most productive use of a tile of soil, though that's usually not considered a limiting resource. It could be important in some self-imposed challenges, though. (IIRC the beach farm prohibits sprinklers, so most beach farms will be rather limited in scope, but even then the greenhouse and [REDACTED] farms are usually enough on their own.) P.S. Hops also have a bizarre secondary use. Since they produce daily, up to 17 total seasonal yield, or more with growth rate buffs, you can plant them in order to eat the produce. It's actually better than any vanilla field crop for this purpose. The only serious contender here is cactus fruit grown in a garden pot, though that's available late enough in the game you'll likely just buy salad instead if you really need food. 8) The primary advantage of preserve jars is the much lower processing time. As such, you need far fewer of them to process a given amount of produce. They're also much more accessible. There's no need to set up a tapper operation to get them going, and you can craft them at a farming skill of 4 rather than 7. They're crucial speedrun tech for a reason. 9) The best use of out-of-season stock I can think of is probably buying Fairy Rose seeds to set up the best possible honey operations on [REDACTED], or wherever else you can find isolated tiles of tillable soil you can safely put a ton of bee houses around. It might have been nice if it could be used a little earlier in the game for filling out bundles. There usually isn't time to grow things for quests, so using out-of-season seeds for quests seems like it'll seldom happen.
Preserves jars are like 2x normal price + 50, so still good to preserve somewhat expensive crops first, but if those run low then you make more money preserving cheap crops rather than letting the jars sit idle. Wood is a matter of taste. You can chop down the trees around town and they grow back in a week (except in winter), and also plant your own (tree fertilizer speeds it up big-time). This does require spending some time and energy, but if you're mainly just waiting for crops to grow... I like to plant them at the railroad, then you can just pop into the spa to recharge energy.
The deluxe scarecrow doesn't protect double the crops, but quadruple.

You have to make Pam's House before you can get the shortcuts
He said that to get more comments (very effective)

you can buy the casino coins in the casino
@@elmtree9951 You have to unlock the casino first, and I remember that quest line being rather annoying as it requires at least one seasonal crop.
The only useful one for me is the one that connects the tunnels to the backwoods because I put a bunch of kegs there.

WHOAAAA didn't know there was shortcut upgrades. So you gotta Give robin a legendary fish?
Just finish the community center and they will be available. The shortcuts are only available after buying Pam a house

I always learn at least one or two things from your videos. You’re my all time favorite Stardew Valley UA-camr!
could i play stardew valley with you mGaud

Gee, with such a strong set of tips like these for him and ezlilyy, I think the two should get hitched and team up one day.
Loads of intro subtitle glitches.
I’m currently farming pale ales. I have 8 kegs and just unlocked level 40 in the mines

Why no one comment

Nice
How do you get her to sell you the shortcut?
Complete the community center.
as far as I know you HAVE to pay for Pam's house before you can buy the shortcuts without mods or cheats
@@elmtree9951 ok I'll do that. My community center is already completed, so that's not it! I appreciate the help ❤️❤️
I didn't know you could skip the Pam house upgrade
You can't.
He just lied so he'd get more comments.
I only have a new save file for a few days now, yet there’s so much more to learn about the game. :)
