I was there last weekend. Saw a few small fluke come up but not much else. Tough spot this time of year with all the rays, dogfish, and robins taking most of the easy offerings. Never seen a shark come up but there are definitely dolphin and seals that patrol the area once the water temps hit mid 70s. Best option is still light jigging for fluke and you may luck out on a keeper or a stray blue. Keep it up brotha and you'll be rewarded.
Your correct not much out there these days. I went 3 days ago I caught some small black sea bass. Then I got slammed, figuring it was a stripper, then the line started screaming figure I got a stray blue. Two runs later I get a look, its big ray. I had to cut the line. Princess Bay on S.I. I did see two weakfish come up. Just have to wait it out till the end of July. Seahorse pretty cool.
I go to the spot you’re at now all the time. Nice bass and blues and occasionally black fish in season. Never caught a keeper fluke tho there. The only shark I’ve heard of pier fishing in the bay was a big brown one off lido pier last summer
@@Bsprecksfishing haha well i tried those puffer fishes once since you said they were good and you were absolutely right.. so i guess ill pass on the skates.
Seems like a strange spot to be fishing. You are fishing there knowing full well that you will likely have to snap your line off to release a fish or other animal with a hook in its mouth.
hell yeah, that's cool... I enjoy ray fishing, not from a pier though, lol... cool pony boys too, lol
Haha yes, thanks for watching!
Always thankful for your time

Where is that pier on the south shore?
I just can't get over the seahorses!
They’re everywhere!
Thanks for watching!
See that you beefed up the rod reel to handle the ray problem, lol. Love your videos thanks!
This is my light duty summer chunking setup, about to bust out the big one soon
Thanks for watching!
The Seahorse has to be one of the strangest creatures in the sea.
It really is

Thanks for watching!
what bay on long island?
I need a recommendation. I’m going to be at smiths point at 5 pm. Any recommendations what lure will work best. I’m using a 9 ft rod
I would chunk bunker in the ocean surf
@@Bsprecksfishing thanks for the recommendation

Love this spot, easy for me when I only have those 1 hour windows to fish in the am. Thanks for watching!
I have actually caught a sand tiger shark off the inside from where your fishing just last year it was a really small one though
Really, that’s cool!
Thanks for watching!
Beats catching a skunk!

@@jinsu0504 I’ve thought about doing a cownose ray catch and cook
@@Bsprecksfishing can you please do a video! by the way fish caught in these waters are safe for consumption, right?
@@jinsu0504 to my knowledge
I'm telling you.....just about every time I see your videos there is drama, drama, drama....this is exactly how Spielberg got started
Haha! Thank you for watching!

That was a second roughtail I’ve ever hooked from a pier, any other fish I could’ve landed and de-hooked like normal
@@Bsprecksfishing dude you’re awesome do you. The hook will rust away. You were in a tuff spot
