He's really polarizing, I feel Like, he kind of lives and dies by his Special If he can activate it, do what he needs to, then he can tank and wall stuff pretty nicely, and although he has to attack first, he can still kinda provide Divine Stone support (even if it's mostly just meant for him) But if he gets Scowl'd, that severely impairs his damage output, and his stats may be high but they're just stats at the end of the day, and he'll eventually be outdone
He has the same issue as E!Ike. He’s not weak whatsoever. He’s just boring a fuck to play. Thats why zero people use him or E!Ike anymore. Defensive units ruin Feh. He’s strong but why play a reactive unit when you can be so proactive with the other CYL units and have at least 54028x more fun.
Dunno what modes folks play but to me he is a shining beacong by beaing Emblem Ikes in Arena Assault and Voting Gauntlets, which is a lot more value from a unit than I can claim to most of my stacked barrack. Very hard to die.
I came back to the game right when Duo Robin's banner came out and pulled Young Emmeryn. I read her weapon and was genuinely like "oh shit that's just a global warp for ANYONE if she acts? With a skill that lets her act twice???" She was a mainstay for my returning teams for actual months just off of that, not to mention the other support aspects of her weapon. Also shoutout Nithavellir who I only remember because he shows up every so often in TT to ruin an autoplay run.
I feel like bernie isn’t at all bad, just she seems like a unit that’s not always applicable and like her support isn’t necessarily useful because it’s very matchup dependent, like vantage desperation is something every unit had into Ike, and LF4 units don’t like having vantage unless they double. It’s main utility is vantage for ranged units, but far saves exist and Fjorm isn’t countered by just having hardy bearing. And desperation only matters if you’re doubling, and you’re foe might be faster, or just bulky enough to not care about being hit twice before their special goes off. She’s still not bad it’s just that you have to consider what effect she’ll have on your units and how your units will meaningfully take advantage of it, instead of not being able to capitalize on it.
I honestly think New Year Seiðr is probably the unit that's had the weirdest trajectory, like, ever. Upon release super early into this Book, she was (rightfully) considered to be broken af. Literally just Mythic Seiðr without any of the stuff that kept her balanced, and on top of that she's arguably in a better movement type. Then came along Valentines Lyon, and although she was still considered strong, people started kinda forgetting about her the longer he was around, until his usage inevitably diminished, with Seiðr disappearing entirely at the same time, and now... People have stopped expecting her, which brought her into this super weird situation where, while you can probably deploy better units than her, she's a crazy surprise pick, because again, she completely fell off the radar. She's still really good in PVE obviously, but in the PVP modes she's back to wrecking havoc because, in my experience at least, people just don't know how to react to her anymore. She was everywhere in early Book 8, but is definitely in the underrated camp now at its end.
My pick is B! Embla. I see her never, which is crazy considering how busted she is. B! Embla and Aoe B! Felix is basicly a free win for most of aether raids.

I remember when they announced this year's Brave units and everyone shat on Bernie and I was sitting here like "She hits 4 times every combat, twice with a special, has null follow up, vantage, desperation, and grants the last two to all allies within 2 spaces, and people think she's bad? What am I missing".
Good list and fair points! Personally, whilst I know it is very debatable to say at this point. But I think Eikthyrnir was very much underrated upon release, most have started to realize his potential now, but still. Just because Heidrun is such an insane monstrosity doesn't take away how fanstastically Eikthyrnir can excel in his own role. Dealing such an absurd amount of damage that Flat DR matters not whilst also being nearly unkillable by most physical attackers in the game.
Although he's mostly known for his Ring I'll still probably say Emblem Marth. His combat especially now is way better. I have used him a fair bit nowadays. He does great against L!M! Alear and him against H!Nah and H!Nagi & Idunn is from when i play in his favor. I have also been seeing Mythic Lumera a lot more and he even destroys her. I do have one annoyance with him. That being he's the on Emblem Hero that doesn't say "Emblem Engage" as a special quote.

Potent 4 is fun, mine consistently destroys Felix, and he is effective against dragons. As my favorite character, I use him all the time. Also AMEN, I noticed that too, pretty sad
I think Rearmed Sothe may be a bit underrated, and that's probably because of just how absurdly ridiculous Attuned Micaiah from the same banner is, so all the attention goes to her, even if rightfully so But with Sothe, with Marth's ring, and an extra Pulse support (like say from Askr), he can precharge an AoE Special, and with Spd/Def Tempo and Atk/Spd Pledge, he should be able to recharge his AoE upon attacking (though opposing Tempo can get in the way of that) I'm not actually sure if Bane is any better or not, but I do like spamming AoEs, and with Brave Robin's Canto 1 status, he can even AoE nuke something and retreat a space
But pulsing down an AOE is something every unit with a decent Atk stat can do. His gimmick is Bane, and that is not really that good. Without it, he is just Metodey/N!Noire but more expensive to merge up.
I think that Mozu is a good example. She was incredible on release, and had so much going for her, but fell off pretty badly, because Emblem Ike and other omnitanks have been added since (Brave Alfonse), and just do what Mozu did, but better.
I think Bridal Lapis is SUPER underrated. The ability to warp allies to her from 5 spaces away after her combat is very strong in basically every mode. Give her the Celica ring or Sigurd ring and she can easily rush in, kill an enemy, and allow the rest of your team to warp in and sweep the enemy team. She also splash damages the entire enemy team, which certainly helps in taking them out. What's that? She didn't kill the enemy she was attacking? No worries. Now whatever ally kills that enemy will get an immediate Galeforce effect! No actions wasted.
Nidavellir being a living ballista is the best thing about him. Also the slaying support so his allies nuke faster. Really sad he was written off so quickly.
I personally think that B! Lapis is super underrated and a cool niche for countering E! Ike Share Spoils is easily one of the best penalties (in my opinion) and it makes sense why they would restrict it to only be inflicted on a unit that survives after combat. It does set up some pretty interesting things for Galeforce teams too since Lapis can let people warp to her within 5 spaces. I'm not very active in AR anymore, but I barely see anybody talking about her or using her and I just kinda wanted to gush about her (lol)
I not a Bernadetta fan but use her in offense with my vantage Pannette. I must say I'm happy with her, Bernadetta has good damage and good support. Also maybe baby emeryn was underrated because not that many people played galeforce teams back then. With Felix and Sigurd I feel like more people are using Galeforce strats
Alfonse was the weakest of the CYL batch? From what I've seen, he was a strong competitor for number one alongside Felix. I have _never_ seen Brave Female Robin anywhere since her debut. Not in Aether Raids, not in Arena, not in...well, okay, there aren't very many prominent gamemodes, but still. Since she came out after Emblem Celica, her ice-vein effect never really was all that useful, and unlike Alfonse and Felix, she could actually _be_ defeated. Why do you say she's Brave Felix tier? I'm sure she's got some good utility I haven't noticed, but 10/10 seems REALLY generous...
The prob with Alfonse is that he's an omnitank, so omnitanks tend to age super poorly. That's why the other 3 took the spotlight (Bernie and Robin support, then we have Felix xd.

Honestly, Bridal Lapis, not OP by any means but she provides a mass warping, not to the extent of Emmeryn but enough that makes it easy for people to jump in, especially with brave felix and robin. Share Spoils is also an effect that is difficult to inflict because she can kill but if she does inflict it and someone else warps in, it can trigger a domino effect
B!Embla easily. She was already great on release, got better as a galeforce followup thanks to beast/E!Celica ring and nowadays she lets you bypass the powerful saves which have become common. When Freyr starts to drop off she'll become even better

I agree with the list. Until Fjorm i was still using F:Veyle as my delete whatever button because the only unit to tank her was A:Micaiah but shield fighter is prevelent now and melee nukes are in a better position such as Felix, Sigurd, Eikpyrnir etc.

If you're playing more casual B!Bernadetta is very easy to just lose i feel like, while the others are better at allrounding, but B!Bernadetta has lots of potential
You would literally have to be huffing copium if you think B!Alfonse is the worst brave unit this year, he single-handedly the best from the batch yes every other unit is unique and quite strong but there is no way you can downplay Alfonse’s capabilities bro has a special that magnifies his and his Allie’s stats, can pierce through dmg reduction, BoL 4 support, Reopening, +1 movement and Dist.Max Canto and flat damage reduction he’s by no means the worst and considering his stats only grow further using MoK that means stat based buffs only get better from there and not only that but since I was so curious to see as to how strong he’d be against the other CYL winners and I used him with his base build against the story and man these other CYL units don’t stand a chance both bernadetta and robin completely fall flat to Alfonse and yes even hush spectrum activated against him she still lost, Felix while tricky is not difficult once you understand his clash effect and hearing that sweet sweet *ding* *ding* is so satisfying so rating Alfonse a 7 is absolute blasphemy when considering he could completely strong arm every new unit coming up, and before I hear anything about how “E!Sigurd can just nuke em” Newsflash bozo E!Sigurd can basically nuke almost everyone even your precious CYL SLOT WASTERS.
Alfonse has 4 movement Felix has 6 and cures penalties with his free wait. Alfonse hits once with his special Felix doubles with comparable extra damage and a special that scales higher. Alfonse has 1 action Felix has 2 he can attack with. Felix is so much better on player phase than alfonse is, but he’s also not that bad on enemy phase, just excel won’t fully trigger for him. If alfonse has his stat ramping he’ll have a major advantage but that takes a while or a number of combats, but Felix is more threatening immediately. And Alfonse can’t get around gust DR whatsoever.

Yeah alear is quite good and underrated at the time cause not emblem Ike..... She is still very very good just be faster so you don't get doubled that's all.
If i give mine, Rearmed Reinhardt is kinda underrated it's because he only has an Arcane Thunder. Like you said, Zeshado, i gave my Rearmed Reinhardt an Arcane Euphoria as well, so he's okay for me, i also think that Fallen Nergal has been rated as a underrated unit since the release of Fallen Nergal was okay for a decent amount of time, but as the more and more harder hitter units came out Fallen Nergal became so underrated. That his PRF weapon doesn't do a lot of damage..

You would literally have to be huffing copium if you think B!Alfonse is the worst brave unit this year, he single-handedly the best from the batch yes every other unit is unique and quite strong but there is no way you can downplay Alfonse’s capabilities bro has a special that magnifies his and his Allie’s stats, can pierce through dmg reduction, BoL 4 support, Reopening, +1 movement and Dist.Max Canto and flat damage reduction he’s by no means the worst and considering his stats only grow further using MoK that means stat based buffs only get better from there and not only that but since I was so curious to see as to how strong he’d be against the other CYL winners and I used him with his base build against the story and man these other CYL units don’t stand a chance both bernadetta and robin completely fall flat to Alfonse and yes even hush spectrum activated against him she still lost, Felix while tricky is not difficult once you understand his clash effect and hearing that sweet sweet *ding* *ding* is so satisfying so rating Alfonse a 7 is absolute blasphemy when considering he could completely strong arm every new unit coming up, and before I hear anything about how “E!Sigurd can just nuke em” Newsflash bozo E!Sigurd can basically nuke almost everyone even your precious CYL SLOT WASTERS.

Felix is so much better on player phase than alfonse is, but he’s also not that bad on enemy phase, just excel won’t fully trigger for him. If alfonse has his stat ramping he’ll have a major advantage but that takes a while or a number of combats, but Felix is more threatening immediately.
And Alfonse can’t get around gust DR whatsoever.

If i give mine, Rearmed Reinhardt is kinda underrated it's because he only has an Arcane Thunder. Like you said, Zeshado, i gave my Rearmed Reinhardt an Arcane Euphoria as well, so he's okay for me, i also think that Fallen Nergal has been rated as a underrated unit since the release of Fallen Nergal was okay for a decent amount of time, but as the more and more harder hitter units came out Fallen Nergal became so underrated. That his PRF weapon doesn't do a lot of damage..
Nergal was widely considered like Top 10 in the game lmao.
