Cant wait to see cj in the holy afro
CJ could be fit lol in GTA: San Andreas there was a gym.
U can see nerves ? 👀
Tommy looks a little fat
CJ gonna look so badass when he’s been hitting the weights with an Afro and black vest
Tommy looks so strange. He's a lot fatter and his arms look so bizarrely smooth. CJ looks really well done, definitely the most "human" of the three protagonists. I will add that I actually like Claude, he's probably my favourite of the three. I think he's a great balance between cartoonish and realistic and fits perfectly into the rest of the world.

@@christohees9150 This is the other way around (A remake is when you make something new from ground up, and a remaster is when you tweek or 'remaster' something older). And yes, the characters do look goofy. People seem to miss the point that the characters in the original versions didn't look like that because Rockstar's visions were a cartoonish looking Gangster sandbox, but because the hardwares back then only allowed this much. It was pretty much limitations.

So far it seems we are indulged in some nice graphical improvements to make the game look like we all remembered it looking the first time we played it, however, what about game audio? I do not mean the soundtrack, I mean the actual sound FX in the game. I remember playing the game a couple of years ago thinking, the 3D audio FXs felt a bit dull. It probably was the PS2 capabilities to mix and process ample of sound FX in real time to make the world feel real.
I couldn’t imagine it not getting an update
there is another video comparison that saw a change in the sound fx of pcj-600 on vice city

Most of the sounds in the definitive trailer that you hear in game are newly recorded. And rockstar is looking to immerse players in the worlds in any way they can and I would bet they made a bunch of ambient world sounds to bring it to life, they are really good at that.

It's the face and he looks a bit roundish, got like sausage fingers lol
tommy looks fatt*er than big smoke, they ruined him
That’s because the graphics of the ps2 era didn’t portray him well enough Tommy is an Italian American part of the mafia so this is probably how they originally intended him to look.

GTA III is the only one were the characters have originally cartoony proportions.
Have you played 3, vice city or San Andreas? All of those were also super cartoony. Especially the art work. The reason they chose this style is because graphics weren’t as ambitious at the time.
Granted San Andreas was the most realistic with its art, but even the truth had a very cartoony rendition of himself, and in game character models were also cartoony to make them seem believable, yet separating it from real life.
Don't know what you guys are on. Everyone from gta3 onward was supposed to be realistic in their ingame model. That's just how games used to be.
@@Rihcterwilker you can think that. But look at the art. The only “realistic” box art is San Andreas. Each older gta was stylized. If they. Really wanted it to be realistic they would have delayed them, or made them look like other games of the time. 24, bad boys, mgs 2, and 3, all had realistic graphics for the time.
Edit: Each older gta besides the top down games. GTA 2 literally had a live action opening, the first had a live action trailer.

They did a great job at keeping keeping the characters look and feel with San and 3 is pretty close too. But Tommy seems almost like an entirely different man. He's kinda baby faced in the new version (and yes I understand it's a cartoon version) I like the graphics of the 3rd and San but it's like they done something different with vice. It's lost alot of its adult/serious look. Vice is my favorite gta of all time so I'm still going to enjoy it but he went from a stressed high strung individual look to something else.

I hope this turns out to be an awesome trilogy. But I watch the "plastic look" of the models and I remember of the XIII remake. And most of us know how that game turned out. Also, this is the same studio (former War Drum Studio) that did the "lovely" "remastered" version of San Andreas on Xbox 360 and PS3. Anyway, I hope this turns out to be good :)

The art direction for faces was very deliberate in 2002 ver, im sure whoever "remasterd" these games is not aware of that.
@Doctor Sykadelix He's not fat he only looks bloated in cutscenes. In gameplay he has that lean muscular build yet then the problem is his eyes and mouth makes him look like bigby werewolf from twau. I've seen fan renditions looking much better

One of the only changes I’d say I don’t like is the cold stare of Claude and tommy is kinda gone. That psychopathic look in their eyes, especially Claude
Claude is a psychopath. If any of the other GTA protagonists went head to head with him, they would be killed. He has the highest body count of any of the protagonists in-mission wise. He literally kills almost everyone and has no feeling of guilt. I dislike how tame he looks in the remaster. He's a silent wolf and his new look doesn't display that.
Tommy was a tired and angry middle aged man which shows a lot now in the remaster but I do like his original eyes. They display the look of annoyance and anger. Now he just looks depressed which, also fits to be fair but he lacks the look of anger. Throughout the entire game, Tommy is over everything. But you can barley notice it now. Maybe the new graphics along with the higher level facial animations will help with that. Like it'll be less of the extreme look of anger and more subtle facial movements to convey that.
@@Nothing-of2pm yea facts. They both just have this blank glare of expression most of the time (from the trailer and screenshots) most the time. You are comparing a remake to a remaster
@@calastyphon3414agreed. However when the term “definitive” is slapped on the cover of an older game, people expect more out of that game. For instance, many were dissatisfied with the mafia 2 and 3 definitive editions because the bar was set so high after the mafia 1 remake. One was a remake while the others were a remaster, however they all were classified as “definitive.” Now the term “definitive “ is in fact very subjective and can be interpreted differently by others, hence why people similar to myself were dissatisfied with the result of this trilogy. The disappointment I felt, as well as many others I assume, essentially came from expecting more out of that subjective term. Similar to when journalists use the word “many,” even if they are only referring to two individuals, ideas, beliefs, etc. Now, you are right when saying one is a remake while the other was a remaster. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. However, I believe if you are going to call something “definitive,” at least look at what other game developers did before moving forward. Otherwise just stick to worlds like remastered.
@@nickadams2951 Definitive simply means complete and final, you can't blame your own misconceptions of the word on the devs there as with all cases, the word is used correctly in both remakes and remasters - It is the complete and final version of the gta trilogy whilst mafia 2 is also the complete and final version of mafia 2 just like the mafia remake is
@@nickadams2951 we've had definitive editions for years also such as bloodborne which was just a version which came with its dlc
@@calastyphon3414 appreciate your feedback. No one is blaming the devs for the misinterpretation of the word “definitive.” My argument revolves around why there was disappointment when the details about the trilogy were released. After seeing what the developers of mafia did, they set the bar high for other developers who plan to re-release updated versions of older games and slap definitive edition on them. Now, my opinion was that developers should refrain from using words like definitive when referring to remastered/remake games and just name them what they are. But that’s my opinion.
I think it looks very good. I’m glad the kept it kind of classic still. However some of the images looked very cartoony
Looks like we finally can use the desert eagle in VC
How about if he can swimming or not?
Its good tho hopefully in the future they can make it even more good in terms of graphics
I can't wait me and the family are gonna be smashing these out like we used to
2:32 cj lost his shirt in definitive edition
Looks amazing to me, can't wait to play those masterpieces again!
looks kind of ugly
especially on mobile xD
Masterpiece is an understatement
Looks Amazing ??? By what standards 2004 ???
Rockstar is now just a company run by a greedy asshole , the developers of this are the ones who remade the 2014 gta sa remake
what i wait in this remaster is it claude and tommy finally can swim
1:55 that fart noise lol
Now it looks on par with Saints row’s graphics 😂
Yes u absolutely right
Thats it 😂
Is that positive or negative?
@@nabilramdhan7428 it's positive bro
Nah, the reboot looks way better. They just went with a cartoony art style
Is it me, or Tony's pants are more detailed in original?
Anyone hating on the graphics should realize that theyre trying to base it off of games that are 20, 19, 17 years old, while also implementing improved gameplay mechanics. And they probably aren't true fans.
The feeling when the remastered version looks the same way i remember old games
❤️
nah man tommy and cj look better in the older versions .
hopefully modders will be able to fix this problem ;)
@@aero2007_ hope so
CJ looks great for me, Tommy looks a bit different to me but overall I'm liking this remaster
Does anyone know if Rockstar will be doing Definitive Editions of Liberty City Stories (GTA:LCS) and Vice City Stories (GTA:VCS) ?
These were also two great games, and it’d be shame if they were missed out from a remastered update
They never mentioned it. So I guess not. But maybe they'll make a DLC someday and include it.
Liberty city stories wont be for now cause we are not graphicly improved that much so it will make a diffrence same for gta V but they will make a definitive ed of these 2 in 5 or so years maybe
Forget it i thought u were talking bout gta IV
The environments looks really good, i cant denie that. But the mix of cartoony and realistic thing they are doing with the models isn't really working
That fart sound killed my sides
Big Smoke: Chicken man no discussion.
Ryder Wilson: Man I don't want chicken.
1:55 xd Well compared to those potatoes that he had for hands, I think there is not much to do
Tommy was like that guy he's ripped under and you didn't want to mess with him.
He was...
That fart sounds was the least thing I expected from a video like this
Tbh I was really excited about this but I really just like the old graphics a lot better lol
Yeah the style they used is kinda weird tbh
@@TheWITE-FOX it ages better though. Just look at Beyond Good & Evil and compare it to Enter the Matrix or whatever. Both released in the same year, yet Beyond has aged way more gracefully. It's because more exaggerated cartoonish visuals tend to be timeless. Though I'm pretty sure modern games have reached a point where realistic graphics will age well too.
You mean the character models? Cause graphics in no way better in the older ones. It's just your nostalgia speaking
@@brucesnow7125 Maybe, but it’s not the style that the originals were going for. Although I guess modernizing the original style would require remakes rather than remasters.
