Tower of Terror Sign Replica - Bronze Patina Paint Technique
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 жов 2024
- Whether it's a replica of the front sign at the Tower of Terror or a creation of your own, this faux patina paint job will make everyone think your props are real bronze, weathered by mother nature, herself. It's simple to do, requires very few paints, and will fool even the most eagle eyed viewer.

Another Fantastic Video...
I not only learn about signs, haunts & excellent art... I am learning a lot bout how you FILM and EDIT... which is EXCELLENT...
I love that you do a Voice Over... and this speeds up the process but still lets us follow you...
Thank you for sharing this great video...
Looks just like metal! Love it!
Thanks!!
You’re like a prop making wizard. Your stuff looks so real, and you present it in such an available way making it seem like everyone can be as magical as you. Thanks for sharing brother.
Thanks for the shout-out! Very good work as always! Absolutely nailed it !
I like seeing your list of patrons getting longer!
The outpouring of support has been crazy.
You have become a master!
I love a good patina! It never gets old!
Beautiful job Derek!
Thank you!
Great work giving that aged metal look on the sign!
This is so awesome!!! Love it from start to finish! Excellent work Derek!
Thanks, Aedo!
Beautiful!
Awesome as usual.
Yep, excellent work bro! Sorry I’m so late to the party!
Awesome as always! I hate missing the live premier! I remembered at 1130am est and was like oh I have 30 mins so I kept working on my pillars then remembered again at 130pm. I swear I'm going to make it again! It's fun with the live chat!
Looks great! thanks for all you do here. Invaluable experience
Thanks, Scott! I really appreciate that
Absolutely gorgeous as always!
Thank you!
Another great technique to add to my skill set.
Thanks, Wayne!
Nice job as usual.
Thank you!
Great video! LOL, any "printer" that I can get with a "$500 OFF" coupon is clearly too expensive for me!
They’re definitely not in the budget of most people. I wouldn’t have one if it weren’t for Glowforge sending it to me.
Amazing!!! Cool!!! Thank You!!!🎃💀🧛♂️👍😎😃
Very cool
love it.
I think you should sell these as a build kit for us to buy from you.
Quite enjoyable, thank you. 🙂
Nice!
I used that patina effect on one of my tombstones last year as an accent piece. Helped transform an Aladdin lamp from Goodwill into an old oil lamp that keyed into the epitaph's backstory
That is awesome!
Very niice
Thanks!!
Fantastic thank you for sharing 🎃💀🧟♀️☠️🧙♀️👻🤡
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video as always Derek. May just have to make some plaques for my cemetery columns just so I can practice this technique! Happy Haunting 🤘
Go for it. Good luck!
Tower of terror, my last job at Disneyland Paris :D
I've used similar techniques for my projects. The watered down paint method takes a bit of practice. The consistency matters.
Definitely
Cool
Nice video…
Hi Derek do you have a link for the vector image, or can you point me in the right direct? Many thanks from across the pond.
Hi Lee, unfortunately this art was shared with me and I’m not at liberty to share it. Although I’m sure there’s a version out there somewhere.
Curious what material you use for the glow forge. After watching this and a previous video of the at final rest plaque I want to attempt this at my local library. Do you use proofgrade? Or source material elsewhere and put in your own settings?
Nope. I just use standard 1/8” mdf from tlclasersupplies.com and the medium draft board setting.
Hi which glowforge would you suggest for a novice ?
They’re all great and work relatively the same. So go with what you can afford and be sure to use my referral link!
"Faux Patina" was my stripper name in the late '70s.
😂
Beautiful!
