Everyone: "THIS SONG IS SO BRUTAL I LOVE THESE RIFFS!"
Alien Weaponry: "There's plastic in the ocean"
Well, its horrifying when you see the magnitude of the problem. :'c
one can appreciate both, ..err, wait, uh, um, well, er..uh, uhh.....
Lol Gojira would be proud, "PLASTIC BAG IN THE SEA!"

Alien Weaponry, The Hu, Bloodywood... Metal is not dead. It is evolving from different countries with different forms. We should accept them with arms wide open 🤘
Best comment hands down couldn't have said it better myself👏🏽👏🏽
Tengger Calvary,... a BIG recommendation of me!
Who thought metal was dead? I don't think any genre can truly die because there are always people who listen and produce them.
Dude, the hu is going on tour with Sabaton and I’m bummed I can’t make a show.
@@t.b.1568 I can only agree to this. One of my favourite lockdown discoveries.
Gojira helping the Amazon, Alien Weaponry helping the oceans and to preserve and expose their Maori culture.
Yet folks have the balls to say that metal is nothing short of angry folks making noise.
Coincidentally they're touring together in March haha
First I've seen anyone mention gojira lol
@@dyl7257 march 2022?
@@Hyena._.Dawn027 you're probably 5 and think Nickelback is metal.
Go listen.
I like those bands but their message means nothing. It's not like anyone actually cares whether they sing about rainforests, tits, or culture. Means nothing.
Tangaroa (Takaroa in the South Island) is the great atua of the sea, lakes, rivers, and creatures that live within them, especially fish, in Māori mythology. As Tangaroa-whakamau-tai he exercises control over the tides. He is sometimes depicted as a whale.
Thank you for the information. Interesting.👌
Thanks Bro 🤘🏻
Cool🫡🇭🇲
They just ooze soulfly in essence you can tell they'll just keep growing and growing to be a mighty powerhouse of metal
I said that in 2seconds of my mate showing me the band. Their skill, their sound...the writing abilities...all on par with the best!!! And they sound like a version of Soulfly
lyrics
Alien Weaponry - Tangaroa
We think we're changing things but it's too late
A dying creature we continue to suffocate
Producing toxic plastic at an unfathomable rate
This pollution we make, we cannot un-create!
Ka humuhumu Tangaroa tātou!
Ka humuhumu nga tamariki ō Tangaroa!
Ka whakapirau kei roto I nga puku maha
Ō nga tangata kūware
Kore mōhio te whakaaweawe aue!
Swimming in a sea of death
Extinction is what's coming next
Undermining our own fate
We're trying but we're far too late
Look around you'll get an eyeful
Stuck inside a vicious cycle
Oceans are becoming lifeless
You think you care, but you're self righteous!
Pirau!
Nga wairoro katoa
Nga wairoro katoa
Pirau nga wairoro katoa
Nga wairoro katoa
Pirau nga wairoro katoa
He tohu aroākapa
Mo Tangaroa!
Ka humuhumu Tangaroa tātou!
Ka humuhumu nga tamariki ō Tangaroa!
Ka whakapirau kei roto I nga puku maha
Ō nga tangata kūware
Kore mōhio te whakaaweawe aue!
Aweawe, aue!
[English:]
We think we're changing things but it's too late
A dying creature we continue to suffocate
Producing toxic plastic at an unfathomable rate
This pollution we make, we cannot un-create!
We amputate the limbs of Tangaroa (Māori god of the sea)
The children of Tangaroa are being ripped apart
Rotting in the many bellies
Of those who are ignorant
Those who have no understanding of the impact it has!
Swimming in a sea of death

So the topic of the song is kinda like Toxic Garbage Island by Gojira
I can see Attenborough headbanging to this
And the whole All Blacks squad, too!
With Anthony Hopkins.
Haha man that man is a legend. Nature documentaries are gunna be so diff with out him!
@@forevermarked5826 , so right, man. He's a titan like Sagan. Well put everyone.
You win the internets today 😆
I'm beyond proud of Alien Weaponry, I've never met them but I feel like a proud mama bear honestly 🖤 From their soulful environmental lyrics, to their heavy sounds, to their honoring of their Māori heritage, absolutely phenomenal 🤘🏼 I'm so happy they're getting the fame they deserve 🖤
This is what Aquaman rocks out to.
Actually yes. I don’t know much about him, but when I saw the film, I found it interesting they made Arthur and his father Maori.
@@ImaNecron That was the best part. His dad was Jake the Muss!!!!
@@ImaNecron I dunno if Jason Momoa had a role in that decision but in an interview he said something along the lines of how much he loves NZ and Maori Culture that he actually feels more drawn to NZ than Hawaii.
Watermetal!
It's very metalopolypse
You're surprised? There are over 100 oceanic metal bands.
Hello verified man!
Or how about New Caledonians Awkward or Redsphere: awkwardmusic.bandcamp.com/releases & redsphere1.bandcamp.com/
Metsatöll - Küü
Man these boys are keeping the hope for new metal bands alive and strong
I dont know dude, there are a ton of good new metal Bands out there but this band was so heavy supported by money of the country and the label they are just the only one everyone is able to see everytime. I toured with them and they are really cool guys and the music is killer but just wanna say that only money makes the difference \m/
Bloodywood brought me here....Alien Weaponry is keeping me here!!
Now that is one brutal masterpiece courtesy of alien weaponry
I love how the production sounds more raw and live then most modern metal bands.
Why, thank you
@@hammerhead6224 you mixed it? No way.
@@elishaorosco... Art Direction - Hammerhead. Audio Production - Recorded at Hammerhead Studios, Waipu, New Zealand. Mixing and Mastering Engineer - Hammerhead.
I'd think so :D
@@zimzimph tbh, you can hardly trust a rando on the internet who sets their name to "hammerhead" maybe they just really like sharks...
and happen to own a studio..
you don't know..
NAPALM RECORDS, PUT MORE MONEY INTO THESE GUYS. What a rad riff, with the triplet open note. You guys aren't just like a metal sound..its like a sludgey sound.
Reminds me of early Mastodon in a lot of ways.
God damn, this video sets off my thalassophobia; my angst over plastic waste and my automatic want to hold my breath when people on screen are underwater. Suuuuper uncomfortable watch, but that's obviously the whole point.
This was incredibly well shot and edited. Love the message and digging the song!
God...I'm shivering those strong message, clip is spot on, tone color is amazing emotional
What an appetizer for Jinjer tomorrow. if it gets released here. METAL!
What did you think of the new Jinjer track? I think it was a fucking banger
@@joshforeman1648 A typical Jinjer song. I liked it. Not the best though, i think i was too hyped about it too, but i cant wait for the album release
These dudes are quickly gaining my top twenty. Napalm Records really knows what they're doing when it comes to signing bands. The guys got a culture to preserve and an ocean to save! Fight on, brothers!
That shot with the hammerhead school is sick
I love love love alien weaponry
The msuic on this track really conveys a sense of urgency, procrastination, and the unavoidable so fucking well. The lyrics just translate it.
Man I wish I knew this language. An amazing culture as well. These guys kick ass.
I love the octopus 🐙!!
Hey guys! I just like your music, the riffs are really heavy!! As a musician, I understand the effort it takes to achieve such sound. Keep up the good work 👍
Greetings from Ukraine 🤘
Recording can be tedious, discouraging, time consuming and, exhausting..but so worth it. These kids are a perfect example of why i have such faith in the next generation.
God Bless Y'all in the Ukraine !!! You have the right to live in any fashion that you want to without tyrants telling y'all what to do.
Love the organic sound. Guitars not overly distorted, drums that sound like drums. Really goes well with the awesome song.
I guest there are take live record for this one.. maybe... So pure realistic sound
Why, Thank you
THIS IS AMAZING!!! LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!
Im looking forward to all their future releases. These guys are prodigies
Kia kaha my brothers
Це круто! Тема забруднення океану дуже цікаво передана в кліпі, браво!
Amazing band. I love this Kids. They have such an original and powerful sound and strong message. They combine very well their origins singing in English and Maori. The tribal language of their country. Keep on and let's help the 🌊 Oceans fight back.,🙏👏💯💪😉
along with Heaven Shall Burn, two great bands, with big ideas and ideals. All support, from a Brazilian fan. 🇧🇷✊🏽
That into has some serious Gojira vibes!
Dude. This riff is so fucking amazing. Funky, groovy, just fantastic. Keep the Maori spirit alive boys!
I’m so happy they’ve released just looking back at their old stuff days ago wishing they’d make more music !! Made my week 🔥🔥🔥
Excellent guys! Listening to this in a tiny little town in northern NY state... and so did my neighbors ;)
congratulations Napalm!!!!!!! to get new bands around the world......is totally refresh hear new sounds from the other side of this world !!!!!!!!!!
This band is amazing
Drums sound raw as hell.
Thanks for your listening. AND for noticing
🤘FUGGYEAH🤘 OMG I'm crying! I'm so happy!
Much love from Perth Western Australia ❣🥰❣
Awesome - the music & the video fit so well together - not to mention the message that is unfortunately wasted for most viewers.
Why?
@@leech-myster-funk2677 Because most youtubers like most people don't really care about what happens to the seas & the environment in general. If they did, things wouldn't be as bad as they are now.
Their Riffs hit me more then a Tsunami
I've never been more proud to be a native Metal head! These songs and bands bring hope to my heart on my kids knowing there history and understanding it's something to celebrate!♥️
These guys are amazing!
I didn't know I could admire you guys even more! The level of artistry in everything, fighting to keep your culture and language alive and now also drawing attention to environmental issues!
Hats off to you! Keep doing what you're doing, it's amazing!
Daytona Florida...in November...I'll be there!!!
Was wondering where i'd heard that into riff before, death race.
Yes.
Spiderbait?
the message, the music, EVERYTHING is just **chef kiss**
Shut up
@@ThefattestCatOnMars make me
these guys killing it from all angles!
Thank you Alien Weaponry for this amazing video/song.
Imagine not liking this band. Couldn’t be me.
Brilliant band
Those nature shots of the hammerhead shark work so well with this metal. Especially that last shot of all those hammerheads.
It's so nice seeing Silverchair's metal child making good music, as well as having a wonderful cause. We aren't killing our planet, we're killing the planet's desire to keep our species around.
Mankind is nature's mistake.
@@tarmotyyri6733 Nature has no intent and therefore does not make mistakes. We are just a hairless primate species with delusions of grandeur.
It's not us killing the planet. It's 100 or so companies doing the damage, and they all have addresses.
@@GallowglassVT Those companies would not exist if we wouldn't buy any of their products. All consumers contribute more or less to the slow killing of our planet.
@@GallowglassVT most of them are energy companies… so yeah it kinda is everyone, all companies includes

Крутое исполнение... Надо будет дальше заценить
How amazing this kids are, can't wait to see them supporting Gojira
Māori Thrash Metal 🤘🔥🤘
Awesome song and awesome message!!! Great work!!!
Wow!! I found this while practicing Tangaroa by maisey rika for a performance and im in love with this. Love how you sing about not just the power of Tangaroa but Also the suffering that mankind has brought on creation and the reality of how we have desecrated our ancestors world. Fucking powerful.
True Alien Weaponry !
how good they sound !! are the present and the future of heavy metal !!!
I'm Brazilian Indian and I love you a lot!🌵💪🤜🦈
You guys have really got your heads skrewed on, excellent music xx
Very cool
That school of Hammerhead Sharks 😍🤘
These guys are so underrated.
I'm watching Taringa on Tuku talks. He mentioned this song,i did not know existed... I ❤ U guys for making this song...very thoughtful to this earth. GODBLESS 🙌
Very talented artists. Why they create music and the message they're sending with their work is very admirable.
I love there sound, it has an old school thrash sound to it, with meaning!!!!!
May be my new favorite band
Dope lads, with a great message.
Thank you Guys for goosebumps all over my body! Such a great track and video! Can't wait for the album! ❤️❤️❤️
Love how they care about the environment in such a metal way.
Because you're you 💙 Tauranga moana 2023 🤜🤛
I'm twice their age if not more, but I FELT this song. Keep raging, gentleman.
See ya at Stoudsburg and Albany !!! I'll be wearing a Ferns jersey.
You guys killed it again!!! Awesome Song and video!
Awesome !
Awesome work guys, awesome track, awesome vid!
2:56 "You think you care but you're self righteous"
We need more Alien Weaponry !
Oh my god! That smart rhythmic thingy in the opening riff. And then the vocals. This takes everything I love about Nu Metal and puts it on a new level.
this band is the only people who can sing underwater
Mean bros!!!
I gotta love that blast part
Saw them last night in Denver. Awesome show!
Always great🤘🤘🤘
Im a music fan should i cant deny the fact that i grew up with these songs and knows the lyrics by heart
THIS IS GREAT
God this is amazing. Giving me some early 90s vibes
Fucks the 90s. Big radio suffocated tried to kill metal then and made a decade of shit. True metalheads had to go underground again. Which took another decade for metal to thrive again.
Wait… Sick Metal, partly sung in a different language, AND a music video with cool ocean animals?! Including a shark? Fuck yeah… Great job, dudes 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great video... As a diver I think it is a great message too
Amazing
Fucking CRAZY good. Definitely my favorite new act in a long time. They're like a fusion of Sepultura and early Silverchair. 🤪. And I say that with the utmost respect and sincerity \m/
Saw them live in Budapest, amazing band.
Guys we really need to start looking after the environment..its even ensnaring our metal bands..seriously though we need to
Ok, so did you do the first steps after those big words and went vegan? (:
Great work!
