Krypto San ka sa mandaluyong
I left the Philippines in 1987. It's refreshing to see the city streets again where pedestrians, bicycles, tricycles, jeepneys, and cars get along so well.
Where do you live now?

"get along" meanwhile two filipinos yelling at each other to see whos right and wrong about cutting someone off
I left in'88. Went back in 2017 to see if i wanted to retire there and fell in love all over again. I stayed in Mandaluyong.
17 months to go, I pray they're letting people in by then
b,
Thank you very much for sharing the video of Mandaluyong. You clearly see the disparity between the affluent and the working class. Yet life goes on and folks do whatever they can support their families despite the financial constraints. I noticed the strong sense of community and connection among the residents in the video. Children playing, sari sari stores and tricycles everywhere.
This video is absolutely remarkable! You should win an award for your videos, particularly this one. I honestly feel like I’ve been to Mandaluyong now! Fantastic. May I ask how the picture is so steady as you ride your bicycle? Also, how do you capture such fantastic ambient audio?!?!? It’s like I’m there! Please tell me the camera and microphone you are using. Thanks, and keep doing what you’re doing.
Don't know how I got this recommended, but thanks for sharing what the influencers hide. That's the type of tourism that I like to see, the daily activities and the real interaction of the locals.
¿como ?

Thank you so much for this video. It's like I'm right there with you exploring. I love seeing the smiles from the families, friends, neighbors, just going about their day. I can see they are content and happy with what they have, each other, community.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching =)
I visited Manila, Philippines in 2016. It was amazing. For which, l love Manila So much ❤️❤️❤️
Locked down in Sydney for almost two months now and possibly more to come. Can't go anywhere but only for work and food, this tour helps me cope with all the bs. Cheers Krypto!
Thanks for watching =)
Thanks for this! I lived in the Manila area for several months in 1994-95 and have been back a few times since. One thing that I really notice that is different: when I was there, a huge proportion of the cars on the street were old clunkers. Now they all look pretty new and well-maintained. Also, the traffic is not as heavy, though that may just be the region you were in. Other than that, everything looks really familiar!
Thanks so much for watching, the traffic wasn't as bad during this filming, but the pandemic is getting better here which means now there is a lot more traffic =)
A large part of barangay Addition Hills is government land where there are informal settlers. I live nearby and your video captured Sacred heart parish where I go to on Sundays. There used to be an open space here in Welfareville where the movie Missing in action where Chuck Norris starred was filmed. I was a kid then and saw this Hollywood actor.
Pretty darn cool, thanks for sharing!
great tour again. many thanks for this 🙏 I really enjoy your videos
Thanks so much!! =)
Such a pleasure to go on a trip with you. The world is huge! I can't believe how many places I've never been before and possibly will never get the chance to go!

Wow that's amazing!
Great video. The clarity and resolution was so sharp. The pacing was just right. I could almost feel the humidity and smell the diesel and pungent city odors.
Thank you very much!
exactly, nicely phrased description.
"The clarity and resolution was so sharp" thats because it wasnt a humid day, so no you wouldnt feel the humidity

My pleasure, thanks for watching =)
Are there expensive apartments over there? Maybe with a gym inside and things like that. Never been to the Philippines just wondering how it works. I’m curious about prices too.
Thanks 🙏 cheers from Argentina 🤗
@@retfede depending on the location of the condo and amenities, from regular to really high end highrise condos with swimming pool, gym, restaurants, and large lobby security. Many were built along with shopping malls on the lower floors. For example Makati area can be expensive. Mine is in a financial district of Mandaluyong. Prices using pesos, from 1million to 50million. I saw two years ago a Trump Tower condo named after him way beyond my budget, or willing to invest.
You can see the matter how you want, but with these pictures the feeling manifests that the people there are still alive. Not in wealth but somehow content. You feel the positive energies flowing there. A fascinatingly beautiful video. Thank you for the effort.
This is something I feel that a lot of foreigners wishing to come to the United State don't understand. The Philippines without a doubt has some extreme poverty and corruption. But a lot of Americans from all incomes can make money, job a decent job, but feel empty inside from being alive but not actually "living." I'm an expat and have been in the Southeast Asian region for a while. The contrast to what's found in the city and suburbs of the USA and most of Europe and SE Asia is conspicuous. There are a lot of reasons for this in the USA but I mostly blame suburban sprawl and social polarization.
Thanks for visiting our place. It may not look perfect but atleast there are changes in our city. Please try to visit the malls and hotels nearby after ecq.
this is a great video,, honestly speaking i know all the places. I from mandaluyong Philippines
I miss the Philippines. Its a great place to live. If you are rich, other than that, its a struggle just to survive every day.

Thanks so much!
a lot of this is due to the locals doing it themselves. i remember when i was in vietnam. the amount of trash the locals just tossed on the ground was disgusting. and i asked them. why are you throwing your trash on the ground? they said, the garbage men will come pick it up later. but thats just a bad mentality. because the garbage men cannot pickup all the trash all the time.
Easy to talk like that.
Yeah, blame the poor for the squalor.
You obviously were born and bred somewhere else.
@@OhCuePie thats not my point. my point is that if ur poor. and u want to live in a nicer area... dont throw ur litter on the ground and then complain.. that ur area is dirty
theres plenty video on youtube that shown LA or philly ghetto area , where it look like apocalypse i mean the building and everything are neat but the street are filled with trash and people that on drug or drunks , i mean no matter how nice the area maybe but if there's are too much trash and trash people in the area then that area will eventually become a Trashy ass place .
Reminds me of how other people telling me that if they don't litter, people who's work is cleaning will loose their jobs. Ironically it's not just on the slums but also from people on malls and other high end areas in Manila. And the first time I heard people say it are my classmates from a private school that I had attended in elementary and high school. Like the janitor will loose his or her job.
@@keurikeuri7851 i had dumb friend (used to be friend) yeah he saying same shit like "oh im creating job for people". Shit glad we dont hang out anymore

It is really hard to enforce a simple rule of clearing the sidewalks so people will not walk on the streets everywhere in Metro Manila. Thats one thing that will stay forever, impossible to improve.

Mandaluyong is a city of extremes as well! Even before watching, I can tell you filmed this in the inner streets of Addition Hills, and then you have high end places like Shang Mall and Wack Wack Golf on the other side!
Pretty much Philippines are like this. On one hand you got a very beautiful sceneries, rich and middle-class neighborhoods and well developed urban areas, then on the other hand you got chaotic/no proper urban development areas with trashes and poor population. The financial and urban development divide is still sadly apparent and this has been like this for decades.
Though Philippines is at least improving, abeit in slow state. This is why it is important to really vote for proper politicians and take care of your neighborhoods and support local businesses so we can flourish together.

I am in the same position as you, I haven't been back to the Philippines for over 20 years. A lot of things remained the same but it actually looks more developed than what I remember seeing in the 90's.

I'm a Filo this is my first time seeing such a torn down looking slum..I just hope our government should take action on this matter so every family in this area will be living in a safe place and to also improve the development of our infrastructure to better protect the nation and more importantly mother earth 🌎..Sewege systems are a major problem and closely knitted houses isn't healthy especially now that were experiencing pandemic.
That's what makes it beautiful ❤️
I'm from Metro Manila, our city governments have been doing to relocate these slum dwellers to provinces like Rizal and Cavite where they have proper public housing, but many still return here in the metro, going back to their old ways, and it's actually irritating.

Awesome, Have fun!
Interesting concept video. A real street view tells everything to us a lot.
This is what the government needs to have attention with, not only beautifying those commercial areas, but also to the tiniest alleys around.
I think the rumor about dividing the Brgy. Addition Hills into more baranggays is always a good idea. The dense population there is hard to manage, seriously.
Don't conclude and generalize the population as lazy. I know many people there, working hard.
Maytunas creek clearing is a great project done there.
Well, despite the city's big malls, corporate building and condominiums it's hard to believe that there is a wide slum out there. Despite the city's wealthy image, it has still a poor side.
Live well...
