Joseph Rouse they did that for a while. I'm guessing when everyone else was doing news at :55 & :00, they would be playing music. By the time they did news, they had already dragged listeners more than 5 minutes into the quarter hour, so they would get credit for the full quarter with Arbitron.
@@EllisFeaster WHN did a similar thing. They'd do their news at 5 or 10 to the hour, and come out of theirs when WABC was starting theirs. I read that in a book by Ed Salamon that dealt exclusively with WHN during their country years.
