Just gonna say your awesome humbleness and kindness after decades of playing on huge stages with huge bands is simply amazing, you are truly one of a kind.
Multiple trains, running between S.F. and San Jose on about a ten to fifteen minute headway all day -- especially in the morning and mid afternoon/evening commutes. Looking at the interior of the building, especially the lobby, I remember talking with Bonnie Raitt over at the Paramount in Oakland, she referred to all of the decor as "jewelry for the building". As one who studied architecture in college 9MANY years ago!), These older theatres are something truly special and need to be guarded as part of our heritage!
👍
Hi Leland! Thank you for the tour of the Fox theatre in San Mateo!! Another precious old venue….. ❤️ Cool to see the train …gems!! Love to all 🌹🪷🌹🪷🌹🪷🥰🖕🖕🖕🖕👍❤️
Such a GREAT house and the Little Fox, the next block down is equally nice. It's been wonderful seeing these old houses getting brought back to life over the last twenty years. While there is something about the big sheds, these moderate sized houses are the perfect place to get in close with an act!
Another beautiful theater! I didn't realize so many were still around! Thank you again for sharing❣
Good evening, Lee!✌️🥰
Great spot. I love this venue. And, ohhh, my father, your doppelganger loves trains! He grew up near a train station as a little boy in the late 30's, early 40's. Was a model railroader for years.
Incredible art & craftsmanship here! Have a great show!
Love ya! 🎸🎶🎹😎👍✌️🥰
Such a gorgeous place, .mr. Sklar! I love going on these adventures with you after a full day of work on my computer! Wish I was there for the show….you are one busy, in-demand guy!
It's a marvel when these old pleasure palaces are restored and continue to serve their intended purpose. There's one in Green Bay,WI, the Meyer Theater. Wish Lyle's tour manager would check it out.Great that the bus driver/musician is on stage again. Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
Hi Tom 💖 ☮️
@@m1nn1s Andy!👋
I was born and grew up in Redwood City. It was always a special treat to go to the FOX for any event. Thanks for the thorough review...really cool.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful theatre!? I love those old theatres as well and here we have another video just showing what an amazing, friendly and humble man Lee is. Thanks as always for these "behind the scenes" videos Lee, truly appreciate it!
Watched your Phil Collins gig from Berlin 1990 what a fantastic band and show Daryl Stuermer what a great player as all of you are
Love all your vids as always
He was a nice gentleman......and a big fan.
Fantastic, Thank You! 💕 ✨️
Your first train video!!!👍
Love all the sounds in this❣️❤😊 Hi to Driver/Piano playing Denny! Hearing Denny makes me feel like I better hike out for some greens, cake and ice cream provisions! "For my friends," as he would say, two check out stands behind me. Like as though I wasn't buying a piece of cake too, to go with those parsnips. 😅💖
How cool ;) beautiful weather to enjoy ;)
Hi Crystal 💖, another one from the 'Vicki' clan! 💖
You guys were fantastic tonight!!!! So many favorites old & new. in particular for me though were: If I had a Boat, Nobody knows me, North Dakota, and so many more. ♥️
Loving the venue viewings.
Everyone Loves LeLand !
Oh yeah! 💖
How beautiful. The attention to detail is amazing! Love the background music. I love trains!! Thanks, Leland.
I really do think people appreciate the amount of work that went into that building.
Another really lovely old old theatre ❤Love the ambiance of the train whistle here in Redwood City
Good afternoon Leland Sklar..yes such a beautiful , Majestic theater..they don't make them like they used to..have a wonderful time there. Stay safe 🙏 and be safe Leland Sklar Peace ✌️ 🙏 🙏 ✌️ ☮️ .
We saw Dan Fogelberg at that theatre back in 2001 (I think)...had front row seats for the first time, ever! It's a gorgeous venue! As I'm writing this, a train whistle is blowing out in the valley here...nice timing! lol My dad loved trains, and had wanted to be an engineer when he grew up...had model trains that we all loved when I was a kid. Thanks for the tour and the memories, Leland! 🚂❤
Wow, you are lucky! Saw Dan Fogelberg and Wendy Waldman at a coliseum that has since been demolished (I remember the steep, circular, steel ramp up to parking about as well as the show). It was a good show, but your seat/venue was better.
Thanks Lee!!!! Appreciate it!
I worked around the corner from there in the early '80s. Back then that big plaza in your opening was a large concrete county government building, which was torn down in 2005 to open up the view of the museum, which was the old circa-1910 courthouse. The neighborhood buildings had seen better days by the '80s, mostly typical local businesses, and the nearby tech boom of the '90s didn't result in much new development in town. But the last fifteen years or so have massively transformed it with enormous apartment buildings, ground-level restaurant/retail, and office buildings giving it a more urban feel. Places that were basically Joe's appliance store and Bill's barbershop now have office buildings with venture capitalists and white-shoe New York law firms.
Thank you for your reflection and another story of the hollowing out of another urban area.
@@artemisXsidecross I wouldn't say that, Artemis. Overall it is a big improvement, with the '50s concrete government building replaced by a nice open plaza, run-down (even seedy)buildings replaced by nicer more welcoming buildings, while some older architecturally interesting places (some Victorian houses turned into offices and museums). But the change can be jarring or sad compared to your memories, in the Gertrude Stein sense.

I am more with Gertrude Stein. We moved to S.F. late ’65 and I would not say the city is better now. I do not think tall buildings and modernity has done the city much good for most citizens.
Wow❣️ what a venue, love the vintage lights.
Have fun tonight 😊💙
There's something special about trains..
Another beautifully ornate old Theatre.
Duelling Pianos!
Great video as usual Lee. The train reminded me of the great Brian Wilson who utilized the sound of a train at the end of his self penned song, Caroline, No. His dogs, Banana and Louie, can be heard barking as the train slowly fades out. Perhaps your two guys can make a similar appearance one day on a recording...
👋👋 Hope Mrs. Sklar and the 🐶🐶 are doing well. Just saw the video of those pine trees in Altadena (still a beautiful location despite the catastrophe).
Thank you.❤❤🙏
The Fox Theatre in Redwood City, CA opened in 1929, was remodeled in 1950, and was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
Hi Mark, thanks for that, our best stats man 💖☮️
Thanks for sharing this history. Cheers, Mark! ✌️
Hi Dwayne, It's Spring here! @@dwaynewladyka577

What a beautiful venue! Thanks for sharing these “insider” videos. 😉. And, wow! The bus driver…he sounded awesome! So cool that he gets to sit in and share his wonderful talent, too! That’s great!
I was just out there last night. I got see Aki Kumar's show and the blues jam after. It's awesome that he got to meet you. If you ever get the chance to, there's some great shows that come through that little club next door.
💃🕺. Just when you think you've seen it all. Putting the fancee in fanceee! You could comfortably have worn your ball gown to watch the picture show at the theAter there. Thanks for the tour!!!!
I remember those trains well… I used to live a mile or so up from the Fox Theater. I love that part of the SF peninsula
Wow! That is a beautiful theatre. Thanks, Lee! Bass on … Bass Brother 🙌🏽
Every new building adds more beauty to a musical heaven❤
What a gorgeous venue, Lee. Thanks for the tour and trust the gig was brilliant.
@ 2.19, looks like they have yet to roll out the red carpet.
My mom lives in Redwood City, so I know that area well.
It is really very very cool that you are always so nice to everyone who comes up to you to say hi on the street or anywhere. You always take the time to let them say their thing and take a selfie lol. 👍🏾
I love your interaction with your fans. It’s so much fun to watch.
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
Thanks again, Leland for the tour. I wonder if there are any architects around today who could nail it if asked to design and build a new Art Deco style theatre.
Nice town no strangers your a good man Leland have a good gig your self tell Maureen an the pups say hi as always peace out cincy
Art Deco de luxe
Hello Leland and everyone! 👋✌️
Beautiful!
Redwood City,.. back over 100 years ago. The area was covered with .2000 year old trees. Now only 3 % are left.. 97% of them gone for ever..
They were destroyed in the pursuit of money and another definition of a tragedy.
Aki Kumar. Great Harp Player!!!
thank you Lee.👍
Thank you Lee ✋🏻
See you guys in a short while!!!! Hope you play some cuts off Road to Ensenada. Cheers
Holy Cow!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Notice how many more subscribers Lee gets as he tours? I am just curious fellow Lee fans, if you are a musician, hit my like button. Body count of sorts.
cheers from Toronto :)
I am in Toronto too. Love this. Almost as good as astral travel!
This theatre is beautiful.
Hey everyone. Hi Leland. Cheers.

Hey Sue, Lastname First, or Kitty Carlisle some of us have missed you with no other way to say so. 💔
Do you and Stumpy Joe share dressing room on acoustic tour same as you do for large band tour?
Since it is such a small group we are all in the same room.
Nice Town
Hi Lee, can you ask Russ what his preferred concert drumsticks are? Thank you.
Lyle took some time to visit Icing on the Cake in my hometown - delicious cakes and pies - did you get a Peanutters?

The Stone faces Kinda look you. "Mystic Sklar Heads Watch over the weathered Theater"
Leland, Will you be Getting together Tom Waits in the Future ??
Is this the one with the attic????
I think you mean the Fox Theater in Atlanta. I knew the late Joe Patten, the guy who lived up there.
I have to say Mr Sklar, that if your bus driver ever gets tired of transporting you guys around for a living , he could earn a few bucks tickling the old ivories ...now you're cruising down the highways !
You might not ever know who is living just down the street. When I grew up in Rochester, NY at the same time Son House was living not far away.
@artemisXsidecross I lived and worked in Central Valley ,Upstate NY in 1987 not a million miles from Rochester . I'm a Scotsman and the world is definitely a small rock stone floating in the air ...isn't it ? Tiny in fact !
Denny has had a recording and tour career. He also happens to one of the best people and transport engineers in the world 🌎. Met him for the first time in 1991. Taylor Dayne Tour
@@armandogarcia9768👋👋Hear you've been in the repair shop recently. Hope you're feeling well!!
