Hey Kev, thank you for your comment ! Yes, I already taken into consideration the feedbacks and future videos will have longer transitions ;) Reethi Beach seemed nice, I think it is great for snorkeling ! :)
@@theresortcollection No problem. I really appreciate the time it takes to do these videos. After 15 years of Maldives trips I have so much footage and photos but never seem to have the time to finish what I start. Many thanks and happy travels.
Great picks. I have been to the Maldives 5 times and 2 of the resorts that I have stayed in are on this list: One and Only Reethi Rah and Gili Lankanfushi
We've been fortunate enough to visit Gili Lankanfushi and Milaidhoo. The Nautilus is # 1 on my bucket list, but they are sooo expensive, Reethi Rah has also been on my bucket list for ages, but as they dont have a house reef, and snorkeling is our number 1 enjoyment when in Maldives, there are other resorts that do offer good snorkeling on a house reef. So Reethi is gonna have to wait til we have exhausted all other snorkeling spots. Gili is still by far my most favourite hotel in Maldives, you cannot beat their food nor their service and the villas are really out of this world.
Very good choice, indeed ;) To be honest I was nicely surprised by the quality of the snorkeling at OORR :) it's definitely not Milaidhoo's level, but it's very nice! Best we've done for snorkeling was Anantara Kihavah which will be in our future Top resort in the Maldives video which we'll release in 2023 :)
@@theresortcollection Anantara is another on the bucket list. Our best snorkeling ever was at Mirhi, whilst the villas are nothing to write home about (which is a shame, as I do love the luxury of Gili style) the exquisite house reef and the privacy of Mirhi's Island was phenomenal and made it a firm favorite for us.
Kandolhu is on our to-do list. It is definitely not as luxurious than the resorts you saw on this video but I think the small size of the island and the beautiful reef are some great qualities.
Thank You for this great video, much appreciated, when considering activities I noticed you focused much on Snorkeling, perhaps that is what interests you more, however for the general public activities like the spa experience, fishing etc.. would also be appreciated in your future reviews, Thank Ou once again
Hello and thank you for your kind message. For the spa, you would always see it more in details in our full resort tour videos that you'll find on our channel. As for activities like fishing... unfortunately this is something we do not do so we can't record videos of that. Also, even though we're aware this is something that some people are interested about, it is still a minority compared to an activity like snorkeling.
@@theresortcollection Thank You very much :-) indeed also it is difficult to please everyone’s interest, I will most definitely checkout your lovely channel, stay blessed 🙏
Yes, it is of course very difficult to please everyone. We're trying our best to cover most of the things the resort can offer, but we also can't do all activities, that would be way too expensive, as you may imagine...
Gili has a very beautiful lagoon ! But other places that are not in this top 5 but have BEAUTIFUL lagoons are Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru and Como Cocoa Island. You can find the videos of both of these resorts on our channel :)
We had villa 255 which was amazing ! The pool residence are amazing as well but very pricey. I would not recommend the "normal" water villas with pools because their location is not great.
No we have not stayed there and I've heard some very bad things about the service at Hurawalhi from very reliable source...so we do not plan to go there.
Everything's bio degradable and reused, so all the fecal matters returns to the ocean for the sea creatures to eat and the the tourists to enjoy while swimming in it

Hello, nice picks, I liked them all, but I would replace Reethi Rah with Soneva Fushi / Jani. I did not visit Reethi Rah, but I heard that the island is artificial, not natural. That would be the reason for me not to come. However I stayed 5 nights in Soneva Fushi and 1 night in Soneva Jani. These hotels are uber expensive, but we experienced things we will never ever forget in our lives. I would rate them both 10/10. As I mentioned before, we stayed on Soneva Jani only for 1 night because of bad weather (rough seas). We liked one of the restaurants on the island, but it was closed. And guess what! One of the staff members told us that they will open the restaurant only for us and they really did! They showed us mangrove crabs, hermit crabs (we could feed them with watermelons), they wanted to open private cinema for us and all of these activities I mentioned were complimentary! It was pure insanity. You get more than 400 square meters big villa with private slide, pool, above your bed is retractable roof and many insane things. I cannot imagine more insane hotel than Soneva Jani is! 11/10!
Hello :) Allow me to differ with what you say because it does not take everything into account. Having done Soneva Fusbi we really would not put it in a top 5 because of the service and food globally that was def not exceptional. We are going to Jani this year so we'll be able to compare for service and food. But there, the lagoon is not really beautiful compared to what we've been used to, particularly for Chapter 2 that is really turning green. Also, you can't really do nice snorkeling there as there is no proper house reef. So yes, the villas are INSANE but that's not enough, it must be a good balance of everything ...price included :)
@@theresortcollection Hello, thank you for your fast response. I would like to share my comments and experiences with you. (We visited both soneva resorts in September 2020. Chapter two in SJ was under construction). Service on Soneva Fushi was absolutely amazing for us, we got everything, we got private butler and private waiter. We got WhatsApp contact on them and they were able to provide us the world class services. Food quality was exceptionaly high as well. I can agree, that the food was kinda repetitive - tuna, seafood especially and the only food we did not like was salmon - it was too raw. But overall it was really exceptional, healthy and I would rate it 9.5/10. I can agree that the beach on Soneva Jani is not that beautiful like on Soneva Fushi, there is some seagrass, but at least it is natural. Some people complain about it, but I can tell you that color of the water around 11:00 - 14:00 was like poison! It was so turquoise like in the dream. Waters in Soneva Jani are very shallow, sand is white and that's why it is so turquoise. But I agree that snorkeling it is not that good as on Soneva Fushi. There is one more resort we visited. It is called Kuramathi, but it is rated with 4 star. In my opinion it is very close to 5 stars and this hotel has the best price/performance ratio. We got complimentary upgrade to water villa from standard beach villa only because we booked directly with them and for full board and 6 nights we paid like 1/5 of the price compared to soneva resorts. It's not super luxurious, but if you wanna save some buck and enjoy amazing snorkerling and beaches it is a must go! :)
Thanks for your answer and I get your point. Still, after having done 12 resorts in the Maldives (and we'll be at 20 by the end of this year) we have VERY high expectations for everything, and particularly for service and food. Therefore, in comparison to what we've been used to, Soneva Fusbi was no match. Anyway, at the end of the year we'll release a new top 10 video with MANY changes in the rankings. Maybe Soneva Jani will be in it, will see, depending on our experience there :)
As crazy as it may seems, yes, there are ! Resorts with better service, better food, better snorkeling, STUNNING lagoon and beaches, ... ;) Stay tuned !
