@@Ryixuare you thinking of rocksmith? I've heard of people using a real guitar on rock band but it was with some adapter and it was janky + didn't actually use the sound of the guitar
@@visualsynthetics9882 i never played RB3 myself with it, but i watched the showcase video and i misunderstood what they was saying. they was just talking about actual designing the guitar, not that you can use an actual guitar on the game. that is 100% my bad, yea. i was not thinking of rocksmith though, no. edit: them designing the more real controller with strings is what i misunderstood
we have two actually, have been refurbishing them so me and my gf can do duets on rb3. its been a fun project. set a goal this year to learn, and its been my motivator to do it. calibrating the midi hardare is pure hell though. 1mm of action between the hexaphonic pickups... cant go any higher or else we get the 5th string picking up on the 6th and 4th coils. a pure nightmare.. worst part is you cant really use other midi guitars on rockband 3 due to the midi commands the neck sends. it gets very angry otherwise... love the thing to death though.
rock band 3 can be emulated on pc with rpcs3 as y'know this guitar was made for. so i would check that out for full functionality. mac works fine requires a bit of tinkering tho.
@@TrevFischer there's a another game like clone hero called YARG (yet another rhythm game). think of as a Rock band clone, that I think supports it pro guitar may have to go back a few versions to get the feature. that's also a possibility and YARG is more user friendly as keyboard & mouse can be used to navigate menus.
@@TrevFischer given that your model is a Wii one, you can try it in Dolphin with USB passthrough, and it should work perfectly! (assuming it came with its dongle)
@@dirtblock998 you cant use pro guitar in yarg yet. they plan to let you in the future tho, a long with pretty much everything such as GH:Live guitars and DJ Hero turntables. keyboard support got added recently tho
IIRC there is a mode where just tapping on the frets produce notes (strumming is not required), which can be fun to tinker with. i can't remember how to activate that, though, but it should be listed somewhere in the manual
Inexpensive but when I ordered it online when it first released it didn’t have the dongle meaning the controller had no possible way of connecting so my family just returned it. And I hear those go missing often
Ahh, memories! A few years ago I got this same guitar to work in Rocksmith 2014! I have a whole document outlining my setup and experience linked in that video.
It made me so upset that you guys didn't even try pressing any of the face buttons FIRST that's how you change the strum settings as well as the octave 😫
crazy that rock band made it w midi support too
They knew someone was crazy enough to use it lol
harmonix’s mission was always to introduce people to making music
they also let you use a real guitar to play the game. pretty neat.

There's an even more "pro" strat with real strings but it's very rare
I just looked it up 🤯 wild
i got one off ebay, its fun but its old so its truss rod is messed up and can be hard to play
@@Nova_2022the neck was hollowed out to fit the electronics. Intonation was usually pretty bad.
i feel like at that point just buy an actual guitar that has a midi output

Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to try that out! Originally I tried to see if it would work with clone hero but I couldn’t figure it out lol

@ version 11 is the one with pro guitar. good luck!

You actually can turn on tapping by pressing the + button! As well as changing the octave with B and 1!
😱😱😱
You should post this on the Rock Band subreddit!
Ooo great idea!!
I love everythingggg about this! May I ask which library "Disc Error" is from at 5:13? :o

Rock Band mentioned!!!
surprised we didnt get to see it with something like shreddage 3 or ample guitar
If I ever get access to one of them, I’ll 100% make another video!
I use this guitar and the Pro Keyboard all the time! Fantastic inexpensive instruments.
I completely forgot about the Pro Keyboard! It blew my mind when it first came out lol
Inexpensive but when I ordered it online when it first released it didn’t have the dongle meaning the controller had no possible way of connecting so my family just returned it. And I hear those go missing often
7:13 was really cool!
I might use it for an actual song down the road!
holy shit this gives me so many ideas for the future
I’m surprised how useful it is! A week ago I used it to write out tabs on my computer
So this just works with a usb midi interface out of the box? Or is there an abstract software layer between?
It worked with the usb interface straight out of the box!!
i love analog lab its actually so peak
Right! It's quickly becoming my main vst
god this is fascinating. i love when you use an acoustic guitar preset and the playing sounds natural but the instrument itself doesn't
Does this work on shared piano?
It do!

I had one of those rock band 3 guitars and it did not work when my family ordered it so I had to return it. Never got to try it.
You should try ordering it again! It’s worth it!
i have this but i cant get it to work in garageband lol
I’d love to see if I could help! Are you on a MacBook?

I’m also upset we never figured that out in the video ☠️
SVEN!!!!
Varg Vikernes would have a blast with this making dungeon synth
Play rb3 with it using dolphin emulater
🤔🤔🤔
@ I could help you set it up
its way easier to set up the ps3 version of rb3 with rpcs3 and rb3 deluxe
why would you play the worst version of RB3 😂😂😂
Play rock band 3 deluxe with it.
